Abstract

Indonesia is currently in a multidimensional crisis, the moral shift of teenagers is very significant, if it is not immediately anticipated, it will have an impact on the destruction of a State. In order to overcome it, it  is very necessary that the values of the characters are implemented on learners early, so that they have a life prinsiple in building and continuing the journey of this country. One of the most credible concepts of education as a solution of primodialism is character education. SMP Negeri 1 Teluk Gelam has conducted character education to minimize the perimodialism attitude. Because the generation that is prepared now is a generation that will continue the establishment of the Unitary Republic of Indonesia. The research used qualitative research method of ethnography by describing character education conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Teluk Gelam namely (1) Aperception which is associated with religious values by every subject teacher 5 minutes before learning begins; (2) Applying discipline; (3) Implementation; (4) Habituation activities; (5) cooperation with Tanjung Lubuk Polsekta in guiding the students; (6) Active communication with parents.

Abstract

This study aimed at decibing the local Scales Lessons that teach in school can develop the soul character of the craft for learners. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 6 Talang Ubi, Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir, South Sumatera Province using descriptive qualitative approach with phenomenology method. The data obtained are expressed in the form of words used in SMA Negeri 6 Talang Ubi and presented in the form of narrative descriptions. Explanation of the research problem was obtained based on interviews, facts and events. Results showed that (1) local content was taught for equipping learners to know and love nature, social, culture, and spiritual in their area; (2) subjects of local content conducted to learners with program students’ development, competence needs, flexibility, and usefulness; (3) subjects of local content may consist of art, workshop, physical education and health, language and technology; (4) Art of Crafts is an object of local content that is taught by utilizing useful and valuable goods.

Abstract

Character education is not a new thing anymore in Indonesia. Actually, it has been around for a long time and has become a national culture. The advancement of knowledge has led to the erosion of the character of the nation in general and the character of students in particular. A lot of juvenile delinquency sometimes leads to violence and crime. For this reason, the role of family, environment and school is needed. What teachers can do in shaping student character is to include in the school curriculum implemented in all subjects and become extracurricular activities that must be followed by all students. This research was qualitative based on the philosophy of post positivism where the truth that is examined must be in accordance with the object. Based on observations, many juvenile delinquents are seen by students. They skip school and sit in internet cafes, online games and sometimes ride motorcycles that have no clear purpose. Even more so they are "sold" by their friends.

Abstract

This study aimed at determining how the performance of elementary school teachers can be improved through academic supervision conducted by the principal of the elementary school. This research was conducted in 16 Public Elementary School Gelumbang. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data collection tools using interviews, observation, documentation and literature review. The results of the study stated that the process of academic supervision was carried out by the principal through several stages, namely 1) planning of academic supervision activities; 2) conducting academic supervision; 3) feedback the results of academic supervision; and 4) follow up on the results of academic supervision. The tools for evaluating are in the form of supervision instruments, namely 1) instruments for evaluating the administration of learning devices; 2) instruments for RPP assessment; 3) instruments for evaluating learning implementation; 4) instruments for evaluating learning evaluations; instrument for follow-up; instrument for evaluating teacher performance. The academic supervision can improve the performance of teachers in 16 Public Elementary School Gelumbang.

Abstract

Decision is the beginning of an action. Decision making in an educational organization is directly related to the principal. The principal as a manager has an important role in making decisions quickly, accurately and effectively by using data and information for optimal educational environment performance. Decision making conducted by State Secondary School principals 13 Palembang already been running well, this could be seen from the process and stages done by the principal with the decision with the observation, data, planning and registry related to education at school. Then, conduct deliberation with teachers to take a policy, interpersonally approach teachers to organize events, give ideas, engage teachers in training, and supervise as supervisory activities. Abstract

This study aimed at (1) describing the guidance of academic lecturers in PGSD FKIP UAD; (2) describing the effectiveness of lecturer’s guidance in improving the study period of PGSD FKIP UAD students. The research method used was mixed methods. Data collection techniques were conducted by interview, observation, questionnaire, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that academic guidance in Prodi PGSD FKIP UAD apply the guidance system with classical pattern, individual pattern, and digital pattern. The results showed that the pattern of coaching is done by combining the counseling patterns tailored to the conditions and situations of students. Based on the results of the analysis, the role of academic counselors in improving the study period of PGSD FKIP UAD students shows a significant role. This is indicated by 7% of respondents considered very important, 63% answered important, 21% important enough, and 9% answered is not important. Referring to these results, that the role of mentor is considered important to the continuity of student studies. Furthermore, counseling activities based on the results of the analysis show academic information activities (KRS) of 34%, 18% thesis consulting consultation, administrative consultation of 14%, and other consultations.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal: (1) the influence of principals' managerial competencies on student achievement; (2) the effect of principals' managerial competencies on student achievement through teacher achievement motivation; (3) the influence between teacher achievement motivation and student achievement. This research is an ex-post facto study, with a population of 20 teachers from Rimau Island SDN 32 and a sample of 10 people selected by proportional sampling technique. The instrument of data collection is a questionnaire. Data analysis used path analysis techniques to test the research hypothesis. The results of the study show that: (1) there is the influence of principals' managerial competencies with student learning achievement 6.52%; (2) the influence between teacher achievement motivation and student achievement through teacher achievement motivation 32.12%; (3) there is a direct influence between teacher achievement motivation and student learning achievement 46.06%. So overall managerial competence of principals, teacher achievement motivation towards student learning achievement is 84.70%. This means that if the quality of the principal's managerial competence and teacher achievement motivation is improved, it will be able to improve the learning achievement of students at SDN 32 Rimau Island.

Abstract

This study determined the effect of Full Day School and Teacher Certification on Teacher Performance. Data in this study were collected through distributing questionnaires to respondents. The results of filling out the questionnaire were analyzed by multiple regression analysis through t test, F test, and the coefficient of determination test. The population of the study was junior high school teachers in Sukarami Subdistrict from 4 schools totaling 109 people. The sample is based on calculations using the Slovin formula. 86 teachers were obtained as a sample. The results of this study (1) There is an effect of Full Day School on the Performance of Junior High School Teachers in Sukarami District; (2) There is an effect of teacher certification on teacher performance; (3) There is the influence of Full Day School and Teacher Certification together on the performance of junior high school teachers in Sukarami District. Based on the test results of the coefficient of determination, the teacher performance variable is influenced by the full day school variable and teacher certification. Besides that it is influenced by other factors outside the research variables.

Abstract

The low quality of school was based on the role of teachers and headmaster. The leadership of headmaster is an important one to upgrade the quality of school. To improve the quality education, the headmaster should have a clear vission which is oriented to the quality of school. The continuous professional development of headmaster should be applied. The professional headmaster will understand the needs of education. Abstract

Character education in SMP Negeri 2 Babat Supat has already been integrated in the curriculum in every subject, but on the other hand the teachers’ understanding and mastery of the concept of character education needs to be reviewed further, the teachers did not understand the nature of the concept of character education. The content of character values found in learning during the learning activities include: 1) Religious, 2) Honest, 3) Tolerance, 4) Discipline, 5) Hard work, 6) Creative, 7) Independent, 8) Democratic , 9) The Want to Know, 10) The Spirit of Nationality, 11) The Love of the Homeland, 12) Respect for Achievement, 13) Friendly / Communicative, 14) Peaceful Love, 15) Love Reading, 16) Environmental Care, 17) Social Care, and 18) Responsibility. This qualitative research investigate the understanding of teachers to the concept of character education. Lack of deep understanding of a teacher on the concept of character education will inhibit the implemention to the learners, so it needs to be held again coaching or training of teachers and employees in SMP Negeri 2 Babat Supat.
