Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of implementing the Inquiry Cooperation assisted by GeoGebra software on students’ mathematical critical thinking skills. This research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a pretest–posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 60 students who were divided into an experimental group and a control group. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test consisting of 15 items that had met the criteria of validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, paired sample t-tests, independent sample t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that the average score of students’ mathematical critical thinking skills in the experimental group increased from 6.60 to 7.67, while the control group showed only a minimal improvement. The independent sample t-test yielded a significance value of 0.006 (< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the two groups. Furthermore, the experimental group achieved an N-Gain score of 56.26% (moderately effective category), whereas the control group obtained 15.20% (ineffective category). Therefore, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Inquiry Cooperation Model assisted by GeoGebra has a positive and more.   Keywords: Mathematical Critical Thinking, GeoGebra, Inquiry Cooperation Model.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and synthesize the relationship between learning habits and students’ mathematics achievement based on various previous research findings, as well as to identify the factors influencing the strength or weakness of this relationship. The method used is a literature review approach, involving the collection of data from 16 relevant national and international journals via the Google Scholar and Semantic Scholar databases for the publication period 2020–2025. The results indicate that the majority of studies found a positive and significant correlation between learning habits and mathematics achievement, with the contribution of the effect varying between 54% and 71.2%. Effective learning habits, such as time management and note-taking techniques, have been shown to enhance discipline and reduce academic procrastination. However, inconsistencies were also found in the results of some studies, influenced by contextual factors such as students’ prior abilities and the learning strategies employed. The conclusion of this study is that learning habits play a crucial role in improving students’ mathematics achievement, particularly when supported by internal factors such as motivation and self-efficacy, as well as external factors such as parental support.   Keywords: Study Habits, Mathematics Learning Achievement, Literature Review.

Abstract

This study aims to identify challenges in understanding abstract concepts caused by teaching methods that are not aligned with cognitive stages, such as imposing symbols without real objects, while integrating theory with global and national curricula, particularly in Indonesia. This research uses secondary literature analysis from reliable sources to uncover qualitative patterns of difficulties and practical recommendations, including practical applications, critiques of the universal stage sequence, and the integration of alternative approaches for inclusive learning. It also suggests educators adapt active strategies such as exploration and play to increase motivation, understanding, and mitigate problems related to individual variation and environmental factors. The findings yielded 10 research journal articles discussing the cognitive development of Jean Piaget's theory in children aged 4-12 years in mathematics learning. In conclusion, this theory plays a crucial role in improving the effectiveness of learning for children aged 7-12 years, particularly at the concrete operational stage, where students are able to think logically about real objects. Different cognitive development at each age affects children's ability to understand mathematical concepts such as basic operations, conservation, and problem-solving. Therefore, learning needs to be adapted through active, student-centered methods, such as discovery, cooperation, and inquiry.   Keywords: Mathematics, Jean Piaget's Theory.

Abstract

This study aims to delineate and characterize active fault lines in Sumedang Regency, West Java, which exhibits significant geological complexity resulting from the convergent tectonic processes between the Indo-Australian and Eurasian Plates, as well as its proximity to prominent regional fault systems such as the Lembang Fault. The investigation utilized the gravity method combined with derivative analysis to identify subsurface fault structures that potentially contribute to seismic hazards. Gravity data were collected using a Scintrex CG-6 gravimeter with an accuracy of 0.01 mGal, supplemented by the global gravity model GGMPlus and SRTM topographic data. The Complete Bouguer Anomaly (CBA) map was processed through First Horizontal Derivative (FHD) and Second Vertical Derivative (SVD) filtering techniques to enhance fault detection capability. Results from data processing and interpretation reveal linear patterns and anomaly points characterized by high FHD values and significant SVD anomalies along several cross-sectional lines. These patterns indicate the presence of active fault zones that align with regional geological trends and the distribution of seismic activity following the earthquakes at the end of 2023. This study concludes that the integration of the FHD and SVD methods on gravity data is effective in identifying active fault lines. The findings can serve as a fundamental basis for geological disaster mitigation and safer regional spatial planning.   Keywords: Gravity, FHD, SVD, Bouguer Anomaly, Active Fault

Abstract

This study aims to determine mathematics learning outcomes of junior high school students through cooperative learning, the types of Teams Games Tournament. This research was carried out in one of the private junior high schools in South Tangerang. All grade VIII students in this school are population as well as research samples. The experimental design was chosen in this quantitative study because the researcher is the teacher in the class. The instruments used are 8 Multiple Choice and 4 Essay that have been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out with SPSS Statistics software version 25. The results of the prerequisite analysist, namely the normality and homogeneity test, showed that the two classes were normally distributed and homogeneous. The results of the hypothesis test obtained a value of sig = 0.191 at a significance level of 0.05. Because the sig value > 0.05, Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, which means that there is a difference in the student’ mathematics learning outcomes of students with cooperative learning, types of the Teams Games Tournament with students who are taught conventionally. This can be seen from the average score of the experimental class of 74.05 which is higher than the control class so that students who are taught with the types of Teams Games Tournament method have better mathematics learning outcomes than students who are taught with the conventional method. Thus, students' mathematics learning outcomes can be improved by implementing cooperative learning of the Teams Games Tournament types.   Keywords: Cooperative Learning, Teams Games Tournament, Mathematics Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

This study is a conceptual review that aims to explain how self-efficacy is integrated into mathematics learning based on Team-Based Learning (TBL). In the initial stage, researchers found 120 articles. After screening, 15 articles were selected that were relevant and in line with the research focus. The synthesis results showed that the integration of self-efficacy and TBL created a mutually reinforcing cycle. The TBL structure was proven to provide space for the formation of four main sources of self-efficacy (Bandura, 1997), namely mastery experience, vicarious experience, verbal persuasion, and affective states. The integration of the two creates a reciprocal relationship: high self-efficacy makes students more confident and persistent in facing challenges, while the collaborative and supportive TBL environment strengthens students' self-efficacy. TBL is not just a learning strategy, but also a space for students to develop confidence in learning mathematics.   Keywords: Self-efficacy, Team-Based Learning, Mathematics Learning, Collaborative Learning, Higher-Order Thinking Skills
