Abstract

The traditional game of ngejuk capung is one of the cultural heritages that is beginning to be abandoned. This is influenced by the rapid development of technology, to the extent that children today only play online games and forget about traditional games. However, traditional games contain noble cultural values that have been passed down from generation to generation. The purpose of this study is to identify the local wisdom values in the ngejuk capung game. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method. The data collection technique involved a literature review of the traditional game series by Made Taro, from “Ngejuk Capung” to “Ngejuk Lindung,”. The instruments used were an analysis sheet (data coding tool) and field notes.  The results of this study indicate that the seemingly simple ngejuk capung game actually contains 17 local wisdom values, namely religious values, aesthetic values, cooperative values, moral values, tolerance values, artistic values, historical values, economic values, social values, hard work values, discipline values, educational values, health values, cultural preservation and creativity values, environmental care values, peace values, and courtesy values. The local wisdom values contained in the ngejuk capung game can serve as a model for developing multicultural education that values diversity while maintaining cultural identity. The long-term implications of this research are the opening of opportunities to develop an educational curriculum that not only focuses on academic achievement but also on the formation of strong character, social awareness, and love for local culture.

Abstract

The low level of students’ critical thinking skills in dealing with contextual economic problems has become one of the challenges in Economics learning at the senior high school level. Students often experience difficulties in analyzing problems, evaluating information, and drawing logical conclusions when faced with questions that require Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). This study aims to analyze students’ critical thinking processes in solving HOTS questions in Economics through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This research employed a mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. The research subjects were eleventh-grade senior high school students who were purposively selected into two classes, namely an experimental group and a control group, each consisting of 30 students. Data collection methods included HOTS-based pretests and posttests, observations of the learning process, and interviews, with the main instrument being essay tests that measured critical thinking indicators. Quantitative data analysis was conducted through normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent t-tests, paired t-tests, and N-gain calculations, while qualitative data were analyzed descriptively to describe students’ critical thinking processes. The results showed a significant improvement in the critical thinking skills of the experimental group compared to the control group. In addition, students in the experimental group were more capable of going through the stages of critical thinking in problem-solving activities. This study concludes that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills in answering HOTS questions in Economics learning. Abstract

Writing scientific articles using the IMRAD format has become a global standard in academic communication; however, university students in Indonesia still face various difficulties in mastering it, ranging from constructing arguments to maintaining consistency in academic style. This study aims to describe students’ responses to the implementation of the Collaborative Writing Strategy (CWS) and Individual Writing Strategy (IWS) integrated into the SPADA platform in the context of writing IMRAD-formatted scientific articles. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving 60 students from the Indonesian Language and Literature Education and Elementary School Teacher Education programs. Data were collected through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and participatory observation. The analysis was conducted descriptively by emphasizing four main aspects: students’ experiences, perceived benefits, challenges, and understanding of scientific article writing. The results showed that the majority of students responded positively to the integration of CWS and IWS within SPADA. CWS was perceived to enhance students’ confidence in argumentation, critical thinking skills, and creativity, while IWS strengthened academic consistency, independence, and analytical skills. This study concludes that the implementation of SPADA is not only determined by technical readiness but also by pedagogical strategies and motivational support. The implications of this study contribute to the development of theories and practices in scientific writing instruction in the digital era. The integration of CWS and IWS through SPADA can be viewed as an innovative pedagogical strategy that strengthens students’ academic literacy while also enhancing the global competitiveness of higher education in Indonesia.
