Abstract

The church involved in the struggle for the liberation of the poor should not only be thought of in terms of economic, political and cultural involvement, but should point first and foremost to the identity of the church as a sign of the Kingdom of God. The church's solidarity with the poor is based on the life of Christ who became poor with the poor in order to liberate them. The poverty of the church is a way of living the gospel message, namely the proclamation of the kingdom of life, justice, and reconciliation for the lowly and oppressed. The purpose of this study is to examine how the church can act as an agent of liberation according to the concept of Gustavo Gutierrez's theology of liberation. This study also aims to raise awareness among churches and congregations about the importance of the church's role in overcoming poverty, and to promote a deeper understanding of the relationship between liberation theology and the church's social responsibility. This article will explain how Christianity views poverty from a biblical perspective, then how Christian theology affirms the church's calling in the liberation of poverty. As part of the concrete form of church service in the liberation of poverty, this article explains the form of contextualization of church service in fighting for the liberation of poverty in the midst of society.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation and influencing factors of Village Regulation of Peresak No. 5 of 2021 concerning the Maturation of Marriage Age. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles & Huberman model. The findings indicate that the regulation is implemented through several village government programs, including marriage age maturation efforts, handling child marriage cases, social rehabilitation, and the establishment of the PUP task force. These initiatives have proven effective in reducing child marriage cases from 12 (2018-2020) to 5 (2021-2023), with zero cases recorded in 2024. The supporting factors include increased awareness among village officials about the negative impacts of child marriage and effective communication among stakeholders. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are the low public awareness of the regulation's benefits due to limited participation in socialization activities and the persistence of traditional cultural views that normalize child marriage.

Abstract

This study aims to overcome problems in the process of accepting and selecting new members of Paskibra UIN North Sumatra by building a management information system. Paskibra UIN North Sumatra is one of the intra-campus organizations under the auspices of UIN North Sumatra. This organization has a system for accepting and selecting new members. However, in its implementation, this process often experiences obstacles, such as loss of prospective member data and delays in selection and announcement of results. A web-based Paskibra member acceptance and selection management information system at UIN North Sumatra was built to facilitate management in the process of acceptance, selection, and announcement of results. This information system allows registration to be done online, so prospective members do not need to come in person. In addition, the Board of Trustees can more easily monitor the selection process and provide more systematic assessments. Data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and literature studies. The system development method applied is the Waterfall model. The system design is carried out using UML (Unified Modeling Language) to define the system workflow. The results of this study are a management information system that can increase efficiency in the process of accepting and selecting prospective Paskibra members. This information system can help reduce the risk of data loss, speed up the selection process, and improve accuracy in the assessment and announcement of results. With the information system in this study, the Paskibra UIN Sumatera Utara management can carry out its duties more optimally and provide convenience for prospective members in participating in the selection process. This research is important in encouraging the digital transformation of student organizations because it can increase work efficiency and effectiveness, as well as strengthen transparency and accountability in the selection process for new members.
