Abstract

Dengue fever is still a significant public health problem in Indonesia. DHF prevention efforts require the active role of the community, especially elementary school students. One effective way to increase knowledge about DHF is by using audiovisual media. This study aims to determine the effect of audiovisual media on students' knowledge about dengue vector prevention and control at SDN 105312 Sawit Rejo. The research method used was an experimental design “One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design” with a sample of 50 students in grades IV and VI selected using total sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test non-parametric test. The results showed a significant increase, namely before the intervention, most students were in the category of poor knowledge (50%) and after the intervention, almost all students (98%) were in the category of good knowledge. The Wilcoxon test results resulted in a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05), which indicates a significant effect of audiovisual media on increasing students' knowledge about the prevention and control of dengue vectors.

Abstract

Fishermen are a group of coastal communities and belong to a community that are still underdeveloped and in a marginalized position. Most fishermen live their daily lives and activities traditionally. The daily activities of fishermen and exposure to environmental factors cause fishermen to be at risk of various health problems, including dermatitis, complaints of pain in the lower back, hearing loss, visual impairment and complaints of barotrauma. This study aims to determine the description of complaints of health problems in fishermen. This research was conducted at the Port in the working area of Health Quarantine Center Region 1 of the Ministry of Health of Banten Province. The method used for data collection in this study used a descriptive approach with questionnaire instruments and interview methods. The research respondents were 96 fishermen who were taken based on the calculation of the Slovin formula. Sample determination based on accidental techniques. The results showed that more than 50% of respondents stated that they experienced health problems. Dermatitis complaints were 69.8%, Low Back Pain was 59.4%, hearing loss was 63.5%, visual impairment was 67.7%, and barotrauma complaints were 68.8%. These health complaints are felt by most fishermen and are thought to be caused by environmental factors, work positions and personal factors. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended to improve and develop cooperation with related units in terms of special health checks for fishermen.

Abstract

Consumption of drinks containing high sugar causes diabetes mellitus. Diabetes causes insulin resistance, defined as where normal or increased insulin levels result in a weakened biological response. Classically, this refers to impaired sensitivity to insulin-mediated glucose disposal. Research with a cross-sectional model using adolescents as research subjects Regarding soft drinks. The population in this study were adolescents aged 12-24 years according to WHO criteria. The sample used in this study was 118 respondents. The sampling technique used quota sampling.  Soft drinks increase the incidence of diabetes mellitus compared to those who do not consume soft drinks, such as Tingling or numbness in the hands and feet, as many as 61.9% of teenager feel these symptoms. Furthermore, teenager also often feel wounds that do not heal as many as 59.3% and Constant fatigue as many as 57.6%. For further researchers, it is hoped that they will examine the eating patterns of adolescents associated with the consumption of carbonated drinks and diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Skin-to-skin contact (SSC) is a crucial step in early breastfeeding initiation, contributing to the success of exclusive breastfeeding and neonatal adaptation. However, its implementation still faces various challenges. This study aims to analyze factors associated with the timely implementation of SSC within the first hour after birth. A retrospective observational design was employed using medical record data from a hospital in Jakarta between January and December 2022. A total of 56 mothers were selected through simple random sampling. Data analysis was conducted using the chi-square test to examine the relationship between delivery method, maternal age, and education level with SSC implementation. The results showed significant associations between SSC and delivery method (p = 0.006), maternal age (p = 0.034), and education level (p = 0.008). Mothers who underwent cesarean section were more likely to receive SSC within the first hour compared to those with vaginal delivery. Additionally, mothers within the non-risk age category and those with a basic education level were more likely to implement SSC on time. In conclusion, SSC implementation is influenced by maternal and delivery-related factors, emphasizing the need for increased awareness among healthcare professionals to promote optimal SSC practices.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries with high uric acid levels that generally occur in adolescents. This condition is influenced by a number of factors, one of which is the consumption of simple carbohydrates. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between consumption of simple carbohydrates and serum uric acid in adolescents. This study used a cross-sectional design, with as respondents 76 adolescents in the Impact Community Indonesia church, North Jakarta. The consumption pattern of simple carbohydrates was measured by filling the semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (SQ-FFQ), whereas serum uric acid was measured with the Autocheck instrument. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 23.0 at significance level of p < 0..05. Mean consumption of simple carbohydrates in male adolescents was 1839 grams and in female adolescents 1592 grams per month, whereas mean concentration of serum uric acid in male adolescents was 6.6 mg/dL and in female adolescents 5.2 mg/dL. The results of the Chi-Square test found a significant relationship between consumption of simple carbohydrates and serum uric acid concentration (p = 0.000). The conclusion of this study was that there was a significant relationship between consumption of simple carbohydrates and serum uric acid concentration in adolescents.

Abstract

Background: The advancement of digital technology has transformed the healthcare sector, and telemedicine has become an important innovation in providing remote clinical services. Methods: The research method used is a mixed-method approach, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires distributed to 400 telemedicine users. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula with a 5% margin of error. Results: 75% of respondents used telemedicine more than once in the past year, with 70% of respondents expressing high satisfaction with the services received. The main reasons for using telemedicine include convenience (65%) and time savings. However, several challenges were identified, such as technical issues (30%), lack of physical examinations, and concerns about service quality. Discussion: The main challenges identified include inadequate technological infrastructure, low digital literacy among certain groups, and unclear regulations. Development opportunities include the integration of telemedicine with electronic health records and increased public education. Conclusion: Telemedicine has great potential to improve the accessibility and efficiency of healthcare services in Jakarta. However, improvements in infrastructure, digital literacy, and supportive regulatory frameworks are needed to maximize the benefits of telemedicine within the healthcare system.
