Abstract

Hapsari Cookies faces limitations in global competitiveness due to a suboptimal production-costing system and an inability to meet international export standards fully. This situation hinders cost efficiency and opportunities for global market expansion. This activity aims to analyze strategies to increase Hapsari Cookies' global competitiveness by implementing Activity-Based Costing (ABC) and complying with international export standards to support market expansion. The Community Service Program, which aims to increase the global competitiveness of Hapsari Cookies' MSMEs in Wonosari, Yogyakarta, is implemented through a series of structured activities focused on optimizing production cost management and ensuring compliance with international export standards. The main target partner for this community service activity is Hapsari Cookies' MSMEs in Wonosari, Yogyakarta. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observations, documentation, and questionnaires. The instruments included interview guidelines, observation sheets, structured questionnaires, and export-standard checklists. Data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis to assess export-standard readiness and quantitative analysis using Activity-Based Costing calculations to compare production costs before and after ABC implementation. The results show that implementing Activity-Based Costing produces more accurate and efficient production cost calculations and supports competitive pricing. In conclusion, the implementation of Activity-Based Costing and compliance with international export standards have been proven to improve cost efficiency and strengthen Hapsari Cookies' global competitiveness.

Abstract

Learning in elementary schools still relies on conventional methods, lacks adequate learning facilities, lacks teacher motivation, and results in low student learning performance. The use of media in elementary schools is still limited. The learning media used are still often focused on books and LKPD. Therefore, the use of varied media is very appropriate. The purpose of this community service is to familiarize participants with the use of learning media, including the Pancasila Pocket Board, Spin Activities, Absorbing Board, Smart Roulette, Pop Up Book, Ball Labyrinth, Puzzle Integrity of the NKRI, Monopoly Game School Rules, and Smart Tree. The methods used are lectures, demonstrations, and Focus Group Discussions (FGD). The subjects of the socialization were 12 elementary school teachers. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with a checklist instrument to determine the feasibility of the media to be used. The data analysis method used is triangulation. The results of this community service show that the socialization of learning media use went smoothly. The teachers' responses to the Pancasila Education learning media in elementary schools were quite varied, including teachers saying that the learning media presented could be useful to support higher grade learning, and teachers hoped that in the next activity, they would help create media and socialize media that were relevant to the characteristics of lower grade students.

Abstract

This This activity emphasized training on the processing of liquid waste (urine) from pig farming, as the Nai Ca Anggit farmer group has so far relied solely on inorganic fertilizers, which are considered insufficient to optimally improve agricultural productivity and soil fertility. The purpose of this training was to enhance the community’s knowledge, soft skills, and hard skills in processing livestock waste so that it can be beneficial for agricultural land. The target participants of this activity were members of the “Nai Ca Anggit” farmer group. The activity was conducted through several stages, including surveys, socialization, demonstrations, and evaluation. The results of the training on producing liquid organic fertilizer from pig urine showed that only 5% of participants had previously processed pig urine into liquid organic fertilizer (LOF), while 95% had never done so. After the socialization and hands-on demonstration sessions, 90% of participants demonstrated an understanding of and the ability to independently produce liquid organic fertilizer from pig urine, while the remaining 10% still required further assistance in the processing stage. Overall, there was a 40% increase in the level of participants’ understanding based on the training materials and direct demonstrations. Therefore, this training successfully enhanced the capacity of the Nai Ca Anggit farmer group to process pig urine into liquid organic fertilizer (LOF) for application on agricultural land.

Abstract

The Sidomakmur Farmers Group (Poktan) is one of the active farmer groups in Jember Regency, covering 79 hectares and cultivating rice as its primary commodity. Currently, the harvest is sold directly to intermediaries as Harvested Dry Unhusked Rice and Milled Dry Unhusked Rice. This community service activity aims to improve farmers' knowledge and skills in diversifying rice-based products, specifically packaged rice, rice flour, and functional rice vermicelli. The implementation method includes interactive lectures and hands-on practice, with intensive mentoring by the community service team. Evaluation results show an increase in participants' knowledge and skills, as evidenced by a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores. Participants showed a high interest in implementing the provided processing technology. This confirms that the program is effective and can increase farmers' capacity to process rice derivative products. The conclusion of the community service program is successful in improving farmers' competency and encouraging a shift in mindset from selling raw, unhusked rice to selling value-added processed products. The program's implications include opportunities to increase farmers' income, enhance the independence of village agribusinesses, and strengthen the local rice value chain. Going forward, follow-up should include marketing assistance, strengthening business institutions, and developing product branding to support the program's sustainability.

Abstract

Low students’ reading interest and the predominant use of conventional teaching methods remain significant challenges in contemporary education. To address these issues, a community service program was conducted for teachers in schools that primarily rely on traditional instructional approaches and require training in interactive learning media. This program aimed to enhance teachers’ competencies in developing and utilizing interactive instructional media, particularly flipbooks, to improve students’ literacy and learning motivation. The implementation method was structured into three stages: problem identification, needs analysis, and program implementation. A total of 43 teachers from various subject areas participated in the training, which covered digital literacy concepts, the use of simple electronic learning media, and hands-on practice in creating and applying flipbooks in classroom settings. The results indicated that the training was highly effective in improving participants’ understanding and practical skills. Most participants reported that the program was very helpful (83.4%) and provided significant benefits (89.2%). The teachers successfully developed interactive flipbooks that, when implemented in classroom instruction, were shown to significantly enhance students’ learning motivation and comprehension. Overall, this activity empowered teachers with new pedagogical skills and inspired the adoption of more innovative teaching practices, highlighting the strong potential of flipbooks and e-libraries in advancing education in the digital era.
