Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students' critical thinking skills in terms of learning motivation at SMA Muhammadiyah Waingapu. The method used in this study is quantitative with a quasi-experimental design involving two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. The instruments used are critical thinking tests and learning motivation questionnaires. The results of data analysis show that the data is normally distributed and homogeneous. The independent sample t-test shows a significance value of 0.015 (< 0.05), which means there is a significant difference between the critical thinking skills of students taught with the PBL model and the conventional model. The average score of the learning motivation questionnaire is 62.41 out of a maximum score of 80 (78.01%), indicating that students' learning motivation is in the high category. Thus, the PBL learning model is effective in improving students' critical thinking skills, especially for those with high learning motivation. Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan peneltian tindakan kelas yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa melalui model discovery learning berbantuan wordwall pada materi bentuk aljabar. Subjek penelitian adalah 20 siswa kelas VII MTs Al Mabrur Bone Raya. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus yang terdiri atas tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui instrumen lembar observasi dan tes hasil belajar. Data dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model discovery learning berbantuan wordwall dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa. Hasil data dari instrumen dianalisis secara keseluruhan dan menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan rata-rata persentase sesudah diterapkan tindakan lanjutan untuk perbaikan proses belajar mengajar pada siklus II. Dimana aspek observasi seluruh aktivitas guru dan aktiivitas siswa serta hasil belajar siswa diperoleh 80% sesuai dengan indikator keberhasilan penelitian. Pada ranah afektif dan psikomotorik setelah perbaikan pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan 80% sesuai dengan indikator keberhasilan penelitian. Untuk itu, dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran discovery learning berbantuan wordwall dalam pembelajaran matematika dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa pada materi bentuk aljabar.

Abstract

This research is based on the results of a preliminary study conducted by the researcher at SMP Negeri 2 Lotu, which found several problems, namely (1) the low numeracy literacy skills of students, due to the lack of variation in the learning models used by teachers, and (2) the low interest in learning mathematics among students. The purpose of this study is to determine: (1) the effect of the project based learning model on students' numeracy literacy, and (2) the effect of the project based learning model on students' interest in learning mathematics. This research is a quantitative study using a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study was all seventh-grade students, and the sample consisted of two classes: class VII-A as the experimental class and VII-B as the control class. The research instruments used were tests and questionnaires. The results of the study showed that: (1) The numeracy literacy result obtained a thitung value of 9.849 and ttabel value of 2.017, because thitung ttabel, H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted. (2) The result for students’ learning interest obtained a thitung value of 20.753 and ttabel value of 2.017, because thitung ttabel, H₀ is rejected and H₁ is accepted. It can be concluded that: (1) The project based learning model had a significant effect on students’numeracy literacy. This is shown by the post-test average score of the experimental group being 78 (high category), which is higher than the control group’s score of 63,56 (moderate category). (2) The project based learning model also had a significant effect on students’ interest in learning mathematics. The average score of the learning interest questionnaire in the experimental group reached 89,40 (very high category), while the control group only reached 55,78 (moderate category).

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi berdasarkan studi pendahuluan dengan melaksanakan observasiawal di SMP Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan, ditemukan bahwa guru masih dalam tahap penyesuaian diriterhadap kurikulum merdeka yang menjadikan pelaksanaan kurikulum merdeka kurang optimal.Kurangnya minat peserta didik, dan kemampuan dasar matematika serta sarana dan prasarana yangkurang memadai yang melatarbelakangi peneliti ingin melihat sejauh mana implementasi kurikulummerdeka di SMP Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan. Fokus dari penelitian ini yaitu menganalisis penerapankurikulum merdeka di SMP Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahuibagaimana tahapan perencanaan pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran, dan pengolahan hasilasesmen di SMP Negeri 3 Padangsidimpuan. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Instrumenyang digunakan untuk mendapat informasi yaitu lembar observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sumberdata terdiri dari guru mata pelajaran matematika, peserta didik, dan beberapa dokumentasi. Berdasarkanhasil penelitian dengan menggunakan teknik analisis berupa reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikankesimpulan diperoleh bahwa untuk tahap perencanaan guru sudah menyiapkan rancangan pembelajaranseperti modul ajar, dan untuk tahap pelaksanaan guru menerapkan pembelajaran berdasarkan komponenyang terdapat dalam kurikulum merdeka tetapi tidak terlaksana dengan baik dikarenakan kurangnyafasilitas atau sarana dan prasarana untuk mewujudkan pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kurikulummerdeka, dan guru juga mengolah hasil asesmen untuk dijadikan nilai akhir

Abstract

Mathematics anxiety is one of the major barriers to students’ achievement and positive attitudes toward learning mathematics. Conversely, a growth mindset is considered a protective factor that fosters learning resilience. This study aims to explore the narratives of students with high levels of mathematics anxiety in relation to their growth mindset. A qualitative narrative approach was employed with three 11th-grade high school students in Malang Regency, Indonesia, selected purposively based on their scores on the Math Anxiety Questionnaire (MAQ). Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, written reflections, and field notes, and analyzed using thematic narrative analysis. The findings reveal five major themes: (1) initial negative perceptions of mathematics, (2) emotional responses to failure such as nervousness, frustration, or shame, (3) efforts to recover through diverse coping strategies, (4) social support from teachers, peers, and families that influences resilience, and (5) indications of growth mindset reflected in the belief that effort is more important than innate talent and mistakes are part of the learning process. These results highlight that although high mathematics anxiety poses challenges, a growth mindset can serve as a protective factor in building students’ learning resilience. This study contributes to the literature on the intersection between mathematics anxiety and growth mindset and provides practical implications for teachers to create a classroom climate that fosters positive mindset development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of understanding of the material of plane and spatial shapes through the architecture of the Grand Mosque of Syahrun Nur Sipirok. The research method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. This research data was obtained by using observation and structured interviews. The data analysis technique used is triangulation using four steps, namely 1) Description, 2) Reduction/Focus, 3) Selection, 4) Conclusion. The study began with the identification of the problems found and then determined the focus of the problem, namely finding the concept of learning geometry through an in-depth study of the architecture of the Grand Mosque of Syahrun Nur. Data were obtained from 11 respondents who were visitors to the Mosque who were still high school students, based on the results of interviews conducted with respondents, it can be concluded that learning carried out by the method of direct introduction to learning objects is more effective in increasing students' understanding of the material of plane and spatial shapes than conventional learning which only focuses on theories and examples that are abstract and difficult to interpret. Analysis carried out on tourist objects around us can make learning more enjoyable so that the set learning objectives are achieved optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Nearpod-assisted E-LKPD on the topic of relations and functionsthat is both valid and practical to use. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with theADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data collectiontechniques included unstructured interviews and questionnaires. Research instruments consisted ofinterview grids, E-LKPD quality assessment sheets, and student response questionnaires. Data wereobtained from material experts, media experts, and Grade VIII students of MTs Leuwiseeng. Data analysisinvolved calculating percentage scores from validators and questionnaires, which were then interpretedinto feasibility and practicality categories. The development process began with analysis, revealingstudents’ difficulties in understanding the concept. The design stage produced an initial draft, which wasdeveloped and validated by experts during development. Revisions were made based on expert input. Thevalidated product was tested in a small group, leading to further improvements and a second developmentphase. A broader field test was then conducted during the second implementation stage. Based onevaluation results, the final E-LKPD was considered appropriate, feasible, and practical for use.

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' mathematics learning outcomes through the application of problembased learning models assisted by wordwall media on the material of comparison of values and inversecomparison of values. This study is a classroom action research conducted on 26 students of class VII-Cat SMP Negeri 1 Suwawa as research subjects. The study was conducted in two cycles by following thestages of planning, implementation of actions, observation and reflection. Data collection techniques werecarried out through observation sheets of teacher and student activities, as well as learning outcome tests.The results of the study showed a significant increase in students' mathematics learning outcomes throughProblem Based Learning assisted by wordwall media. This was obtained after the implementation of furtheractions to improve the teaching and learning process in cycle II. The results showed that observations ofall teacher activities in managing learning obtained at least good and very good aspects, observations ofall student activities obtained at least good and very good aspects, and students' mathematics learningoutcomes also increased by 65.4% to 88.46% of students who achieved the minimum completeness criteriaon the material of comparison of values and inverse comparison of values.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an e-module on the topic of the Pythagorean Theorem using the RealisticMathematics Education (RME) approach, assisted by Flip PDF Professional The background of thisresearch was the low level of students mathematical understanding, the limited availability of teachingmaterials, and the suboptimal use of technology in the learning process at SMP Negeri 2 Randangan. Theresearch followed the five stages of the ADDIE development model, namely. Analysis, Design,Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results of the expert validation for media and contentshowed that the developed e-module fell into the "valid" category, with average scores of 3.36 and 3.37,respectively. The practicality tests also yielded excellent results, with a practicality percentage of 92.50%from teachers and 89.49% from students, both categorized as "very practical." Therefore, this e-modulewas considered suitable and effective for use as a learning resource, particularly for teaching thePythagorean Theorem. It was also found to enhance student engagement and understanding through acontextual and interactive approach.
