Abstract

Lifestyle in adolescence is very important to know to determine the development of a person's adult health level. The main objective of this study was to map the level of physical activity of high school students in Cilegon. This study used a survey study method of 3185 participants of high school level consisting of 985 males and 2200 females who participated in this study. Data on students' physical activity levels were obtained using a paper-based online IPAQ questionnaire. The results of this study indicated that the BMI categories for males were 37.5% underweight, 37.3% normal, 9.8% overweight, and 15.4% obese, while for females were 35.7% underweight, 46.4% normal, 9.3% overweight, and 8.6 obese. The findings in this study provided evidence that the BMI of high school students in Cilegon was in the normal or healthy weight category. However, in the BMI category, there were still many research subjects who were in the obese category. This was because the physical activities carried out by students were in a low category. The high percentage of the low activity category was feared that the subjects of this study would affect their health condition in the future

Abstract

Background: In the past years, Esport has been a phenomenon. It lies in a discussion of whether accepting esport as a part of sport categories or not. In fact, many argue about this because it has an impact on the physical activity and lifestyle of the players. This study focuses on the analysis of physical activity and lifestyle of esport athletes competing in annual sporting events throughout Indonesia. Method: In this study data collected from 50 athletes consisting of all men. The measurement method used in measuring the level of physical activity is the International Physical Activities Questionnaire (IPAQ). Result: From the completed questionnaire, it was found that the level of physical activity of the athletes reached 3120.2 (± 24.3) METs. This figure shows that athletes are still included in the category of high physical activity. Conclusion: The average level of physical activity of esport athletes is in the high category.

Abstract

Research using bibliometric analysis methods in sports journals has never been done, especially in accredited national journals. This study evaluates the pattern and development of publications in the Jurnal SPORTIF: Jurnal Penelitian Pembelajaran from 2015 to 2020. This study uses bibliometric analysis and visualization of similarities using the VOSViewer application for the graphical conception of bibliographic data such as co-occurrence of keywords and co-authorship. Also, this study will also evaluate the most productive institutions, the most productive authors, the most cited articles, the number of citations, and the level of author collaboration. The analysis results show an increase in publication production after the Jurnal SPORTIF: Jurnal Penelitian Pembelajaran was declared accredited by SINTA 2 in 2018, which shows an increase in interest in submitting articles. Forming basic movements in elementary school students through traditional games is one of the currently trending topics, so there are gaps and opportunities to exploit research with this theme. Universitas Nusantara PGRI Kediri is the most productive institution with 29 articles, while the most productive writer is Budiman Agung Pratama, with five articles published so far. Further research is expected to compare the pattern and development of publications in the SINTA 2 national accredited journals.

Abstract

The use of surgical masks during exercise is still a matter of controversy. Thus the aim of this study was to see the effect of using surgical masks and non masks on heart rate, VO2max and calories during exercise. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a posttest-only crossover design approach. The instrument used in this study was the VO2max test using the Cooper Test (running as far as 2.4 km). The total subjects were 12 healthy men with a mean age of 19.87 ± 1.24 years; height, 166.81 ± 6.31 cm; and weight, 56.30 ± 3.79 kg; BMI, 20.06 ± 0.95 kg / m-2. The results showed that the use of masks during aerobic endurance exercise had no effect on heart rate and VO2max, a significant difference occurred in energy expenditure which included the number of calories while using surgical masks (p = 0.001). Aerobic exercise using a surgical mask and without the use of a mask is safe and possible. Despite the fact that wearing a mask when exercising is a little uncomfortable, the use of a surgical mask has only a small effect on physiological parameters during exercise

Abstract

The purpose of study was to determine the effect of vitamin C supplementation on maximum physical activity on the total of leukocytes. Research method used a quasi-field experiment with pre-test design and post-test control group design. The study subjects consisted of four male non-athletes, aged 20-22 years. The number of leukocytes was measured before and after vitamin C supplementation with a dose of 100 mg and 500 mg in maximum activity, namely running to fatigue. Data normality was tested by Kolmogorov Smirnov and paired sample t-test was used to test for differences in the total of leukocytes before and after vitamin C supplementation. The results showed that the average number of respondents' leukocytes increased after maximal physical activity (∆ = 6,775) and after vitamin C supplementation 100 mg (∆ = 1300) and 500 mg (∆ = 550). Paired t-test showed a significant difference (p = 0.019) between the total of leukocytes before and after maximum physical activity. There was no significant difference between the supplementation of vitamin C at a dose of 100 mg (p = 0.09) and a dose of 500 mg (p = 0.95) on the total of leukocytes before and after maximum physical activity. So, it is concluded that maximum physical activity increases the number of leukocytes. However, there was no difference in the number of leukocytes before and after maximum physical activity in the supplementation of 100 mg and 500 mg of vitamin C

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to compare the impact of giving High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) and Oregon Circuit Training on cardiorespiratory endurance abilities. This study used an experimental method with a two group pretest-posttest design. The study population consisted of 20 people, the sample was determined by the total sampling method so that a sample of 20 people was obtained, the sample was then divided into two groups, the HIIT group (10 people) and the Oregon Circuit Training (10 people). The instrument used was the Multistage Fitness Test (MFT). Data analysis using Paired T-Test and Independent T-Test. The results showed that there was an effect of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on the increase in VO2 Max (ρ value = 0.001), there was an effect of Oregon Circuit Training on the increase in VO2 Max (ρ value = 0.002) and, there was no significant effect comparison between High Intensity. Interval Training (HIIT) and Oregon Circuit Training (ρ value = 0.759), the conclusion is that the increase in cardiorespiratory endurance ability is influenced by the provision of both types of exercise but there is no significant comparison of the effects between the two, as well as the High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) training method. ) showed more effective results (39, 69%). From these results, the HIIT training method or Oregon Circuit Training can be an alternative exercise to increase VO2 Max and can be used for further research with different variables.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the ability of the flat forehand drive stroke with a three-dimensional kinematics analysis approach in tennis. The method used was quantitative descriptive, while the subjects were 18 male tennis players (age 27 ± 3.7 years, height 169 ± 7.4 cm, body weight 71.5 ± 8.3 kg). This instrument uses three video cameras, one set of calibration, motion analysis software, manual markers and a radar speed gun. The results of this study showed that of the shoulder internal rotation, wrist flexion, trunk and hip rotations for players who have skills shows greater results when compared to the novice players. In addition, the skills player group produce ball speed that is greater than the novice players. The results of this study concluded that the series of motion starting from the hip joint rotation, the maximum external-internal shoulder rotation contributed greatly to the racket speed in generating greater ball momentum. Meanwhile, the shoulder internal velocity is the key to producing the racket maximum speed. The recommendation from the results of this study for further research is to compare the performance of forehand and backhand strokes in the elite group with a three-dimensional analysis approach.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to test fundamental motor skills (FMS) in young children with visual impairments (VI) and non-VI children. This study used a cross-sectional design, descriptive-analytic with purposive sampling. Children without VI showed higher locomotor skills (M= 21.38, SD= 6.69) when compared to children with VI (M= 9.70, SD= 3.09). Children without VI showed higher ball skills (M = 18.74, SD = 6.54) when compared to children with VI (M = 5.23, SD = 5.44)). For locomotor skills there was a significant effect on vision (F=17.55, p=.014, η2=.31). For children with VI, birth control (n=7) performed higher (M=10.33, SD=10.54) compared to non-birth VI (n=3; M 4.02, SD=2, 73). For ball skills there was a significant effect on vision (F=21.99, p<0.001, η2=.56). For children with VI, congenital VI (n=7) performed higher (M=6.73, SD=6.69) than non-congenital blind (n=3; M=2.05, SD=1.01). Non-blind children show higher levels of FMS when compared to children with VI. The children with VI in this sample exhibited profound developmental delays requiring further investigation and future intervention.
