Abstract

The extent to which EFL writing classes have investigated the readiness for self-directed learning is limited. Writing students must ascertain their readiness to apply self-directed learning (SDL) in the writing classroom setting. The primary aim of this study is to examine the level of self-directed learning preparation among students in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) writing classroom. The importance of students' preparedness to engage in self-directed learning, particularly in the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) writing, is significant. This is because higher education institutions promote active learning rather than passive learning among students. The approach employed to analyse the results is a quantitative research methodology. The findings indicate that students' preparation for self-directed learning in an English as a Foreign Language (EFL) writing course at a higher education institution was below the average score. To assess the preparedness of EFL students, it is essential to administer a widely recognised Self-Directed Learning Readiness Scale to the participants in the study. To summarise, several recommendations are proposed to emphasise the areas that can aid in the enhancement of self-directed learning for EFL students.

Abstract

This research aims to explain the epistemological aspects in the management of Islamic Education. The method that researchers use is library research in the form of references from various library data sources that are ready to use so that they can be used immediately and are not limited by space and time. The results of the study show that aspects of epistemology are related to the way understanding and knowledge are obtained in the context of Islamic education. It includes teaching methods, sources of knowledge, and the process of understanding Islamic concepts. The role of epistemology in the management of Islamic education ensures that the methods and knowledge conveyed are in accordance with Islamic scientific principles. By understanding and applying this aspect of epistemology in Islamic education management, it is hoped that educational institutions can make a positive contribution in forming individuals who are knowledgeable, moral, and able to make a positive contribution to society and Muslims as a whole.

Abstract

Peran internet dalam mendukung berbagai aspek kehidupan di era digital menjadi sangat krusial. Hal tersebut menjadi alasan kuat untuk memperhatikan kecepatan internet dan keamanan siber. Meski begitu, kesenjangan antara kecepatan internet dengan keamanan siber di Indonesia masih ada. Minimnya pemerataan pembangunan wilayah membuat sebagian besar wilayah Indonesia memiliki keterbatasan kecepatan internet dan persepsi kemanan siber yang rendah . Penelitian dilakukan untuk menyajikan analisis mendalam tentang urgensi peningkatan kecepatan internet seiring dengan penguatan upaya perlindungan terhadap keamanan siber, serta implikasinya terhadap masyarakat Indonesia yang semakin terhubung secara digital. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah regresi linear untuk menganalisis hubungan sebab-akibat antara kecepatan internet dan GCI ranking. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa kecepatan internet (dinyatakan dalam Mbps) mempengaruhi perubahan Global Cybersecurity Index (GCI) ranking sebesar 12,7%.

Abstract

The turbulences occurred in Iraq from the fall of Saddam Hussein in 2003 to present days are proof that the U.S. has never had a workable grand strategy for Iraq or any consistent plans and actions to support the national building phase after the war. The U.S. seemed to be focus more on thinking tactically, rather than strategically where at the same time underestimating Iraq’s strategic importance in the region. This paper attempts to point out the failure of the U.S. in the national-building process in Iraq from the perspective of ethnic, political religion and terrorism in contemporary international relations, and what could have been done differently during the civil war and the humanitarian intervention. The article research method was conducted using document-based qualitative through various sources, including books, journals, and news on the internet. The research results of this article indicate that the U.S. failed to understand three aspects that set the tone in the middle east: ethnic, political religion, and terrorism.

Abstract

Islam is a religion that teaches universal and comprehensive truth, which includes aspects of creed, sharia, and morals. Islam also appreciates and recognizes the role of science in enriching man's knowledge of the universe and himself. The purpose of the study is to know the academic and theological challenges of the integration of Islam, science and culture of the archipelago. Literature research is used in this work, using books related to the topic under study as sources and research materials. The results of the study are academic challenges covering epistemology, ontology, axiology, and methodology, which require efforts to blend modern scientific approaches with Islamic values and worldviews and Nusantara culture. Theological challenges raise crucial questions about how to integrate Islamic religious beliefs with science and cultural values of the archipelago. It includes the interpretation of sacred texts, the concept of Divine creativity, visions of human beings, views on the universe, ethics, and approaches to scientific controversies. It is important to emphasize that this integration is not an attempt to eliminate uniqueness or replace existing traditions, but rather an attempt to enrich and expand man's understanding of the universe and its role in it. It requires open dialogue, open-mindedness, and in-depth study involving various disciplines, religions, and cultures to achieve a balanced integration and benefit the people of the archipelago and the world at large.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji analisis dan visualisasi persebaran kejahatan di wilayah Sulawesi Tenggara menggunakan heatmap dalam Python. Fokus penelitian adalah pada data kriminalitas tahun 2022, yang meliputi berbagai jenis kejahatan seperti penganiayaan, pengeroyokan, pencurian, penipuan, dan KDRT. Data diperoleh dari Kepolisian Daerah Provinsi Sulawesi Tenggara dan Badan Pusat Statistik. Metodologi penelitian mencakup pengumpulan data kejahatan dengan detail lokasi (latitude dan longitude) dan analisis data menggunakan library Python, terutama Folium dengan Plugin Heatmap. Hasil visualisasi menunjukkan pola persebaran kejahatan di Sulawesi Tenggara, dengan penekanan pada area yang memiliki insiden kejahatan tinggi. Penelitian ini menghasilkan wawasan baru mengenai tren dan pola kejahatan di wilayah tersebut, yang berguna untuk strategi pencegahan kejahatan dan kebijakan penegakan hukum. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa visualisasi data dengan heatmap dapat menjadi alat yang efektif dalam menganalisis dan memahami persebaran geografis kejahatan, serta mendukung pengambilan keputusan yang lebih baik dalam manajemen keamanan.

Abstract

The main problem in this research is that there is an influence of folklore E-book learning media on the reading ability of class IV students at SDN 255 Paranglohe, Herlang District, Bulukumba Regency. This research aims to describe the influence of folklore e-book learning media on the reading ability of class IV students at SDN 255 Paranglohe, Herlang District, Bulukumba Regency. This type of research is quantitative research that uses experimental research (pre-experimental design) with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study were all fourth grade students at SDN Paranglohe, Herlang District, Bulukumba Regency with a sample size of 22 students. The research instruments used to collect data were description tests (pretest-posttest) and observation sheets.The data analysis technique used in this research uses descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis with the t test. The results of the research prove that there is an influence of folklore E-Book learning media on the reading ability of class IV students at SDN 255 Paranglohe, Herlang District, Bulukumba Regency.

Abstract

Researchers created a learning medium based on the Lectora Inspire Application based on the findings of a requirements analysis throughout the learning process. The goal of this study is to make this product more legitimate, practical, and useful in boosting students' mathematical comprehension. The ADDIE (Analyze, create, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) development paradigm was used by researchers to create this study and development. This study included 30 students from class XI Science 1 SMA Negeri 1 Simanindo. According to the research findings, the produced Lectora Inspire Application-based learning media has a high degree of validity, with an average percentage of 87.08% according to material experts and 89.61 according to media experts. Positive reactions from instructors and students were also discovered during small group and large group trials, with an average score of 92% from teachers, 94.6% from small groups, and 90.2% from big groups. This demonstrates that this medium is quite useful in the learning process. Aside from that, the outcomes of applying this interactive learning media demonstrate its efficacy. The completion rate of classical learning was 86.67%, and the efficacy questionnaire received an average percentage of 93.44%. The development in pupils' mathematical comprehension might be classified as modest. Based on the findings of this study, it is possible to conclude that the Lectora Inspire application-based learning media produced satisfied the requirements of being valid, practical, and successful in boosting students' mathematical comprehension.

Abstract

The aim of the study was to develop interactive teaching materials based on Microsoft PowerPoint for class V with 9 sub-themes 2 themes. The research uses a development model adapted from the Thiagarajan design model, namely the 4D (four-D) model which includes three steps, namely stage (1) Define, stage (2) Design, and stage (2) Develop. The source of the research data was obtained from the fifth grade teacher at Public Elementary School 13 West Pontianak. The research data is in the form of a questionnaire (questionnaire) and interviews conducted during the initial observation. The data analysis technique used is Purwanto. Implementation of research to test the feasibility of interactive teaching materials based on Microsoft PowerPowint. The feasibility level of interactive teaching material products from the material aspect average percentage of 97.7% which has valid criteria and from the media aspect the average percentage is 87.7% which has valid criteria. Constraints in the development of interactive teaching materials include the lack of school facilities. In addition, the obstacle in this research is the limited time to develop interactive teaching materials

Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate how the Purdue learning model can be implemented in accelerated classes to enhance students' high-level mathematical thinking skills. The method used in this study is called Classroom Action Research (PTK). This study only included students enrolled in accelerated classes as subjects. In this study, 100 people made up the sample. Field notes, interviews, observations, and diaries were all forms of qualitative data. A checkpoint is used to express quantitative data at the conclusion of each cycle. According to a combined data analysis, during the study period using the Purdue model, students' classroom activities improved in speed. This increase in activity involves verbal, written, visual, motor, cerebral, and emotional activities as well as writing, drawing, and writing. Mental and emotional activities are the most crucial kind of activity. Conversely, speaking and sketching exercises are given less emphasis. Students in accelerated classes generally report that they gain from Purdue's methodology of increased learning. The majority of students claimed that because they like studying in groups and found it challenging to finish the assignments provided at each meeting, studying under the Purdue model was more pleasurable. Nevertheless, several students responded negatively, stating that they did not understand the questions or the learning approach and that they wanted the researcher to clarify things immediately.
