Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of storytelling as a teaching tool in Islamic high schools. Since they will have numerous opportunities to learn English effectively, this study also focused on selecting tenth-grade students as participants. If students who are told stories have an impact on their ability to communicate, the researcher would like to investigate this. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of the storytelling approach as a teaching strategy in secondary Islamic institutions. The purpose of this study is to determine whether the narrative method may help tenth-grade students at MAN 1 Samarinda become more proficient speakers. Pre- and post-tests were employed in the quantitative research design to gauge how well storytelling improved students' speaking abilities. Written assessments, group discussions, and questionnaires were the study's instruments. Students were required to create short stories based on their everyday experiences for the written exam. During group presentations, students read the stories they had written in front of the class, and their performance was evaluated on their fluency, pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, idea structure, expression, and gestures. Students' responses about using the storytelling method to improve their speaking abilities were gathered through questionnaires. The findings demonstrated that pupils' speaking abilities were improved via storytelling. After engaging in narrative exercises, students demonstrated gains in vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency. Additionally, this strategy was well received by pupils, the majority of whom reported feeling more driven and intrigued. The purpose of this literature review is to expand readers' knowledge about the function of storytelling in the classroom, specifically about students' development as more fluent communicators. For this investigation, a quantitative research approach will be used.

Abstract

The use of teaching materials to teach English language in the classroom is an important aspect and must be paid attention to English language teachers in classroom learning. This research aims to develop teaching materials that are varied and differentiated in activities using 3 learning methods consisting of problem-based learning, project-based learning, and discovery learning. Apart from that, the teaching materials developed are also differentiated in material content that adapts to students' learning styles, consisting of 4 learning styles: visual, aural, read/write, and kinaesthetic. In this part of developing teaching materials, researchers went through 2 comprehensive stages: design and development. The design stage consists of creating a matrix that is used as a reference in developing teaching materials, and selecting material, and the final stage is making a draft using Word. In the development stage, researchers went through stages consisting of designing a draft as well as developing media for activities, a revision process for the draft developed, finalization based on the results of revisions to the product, and assessments from experts.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to identify the influence of conformity and financial literacy on the consumer behavior of FKIP UNS Economics Education students. The research method used is quantitative with a population of Economic Education students class 2019-2021. The sampling technique applies the Proportional Random Sampling technique with a sample size of 168 respondents. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. Data analysis uses simple regression analysis, simultaneous regression test (f test), partial regression test (t test), and analysis of the coefficient of determination. The results of the research are (1) there is a positive influence between the conformity variable and the consumptive behavior of FKIP UNS Economics Education students with a calculated t value of 9,713 > t table 1,65414. The significance value in the F test is 0,000 (< 0,05), (2) there is a negative influence between the financial literacy variable and the consumptive behavior of FKIP UNS Economic Education students with a calculated t value of 5,661 and t table 1,65414 and a significance value of 0,000 (> 0,05). (3) There is a positive influence between the conformity and financial literacy variables on the consumer behavior of FKIP UNS Economics Education students with an F table value of 3,05 < F count 36,864. The significance value in the F test is 0,000 (< 0,05).

Abstract

In Indonesia, curriculum reforms have been carried out to adapt to the needs of the times, one of which is the Merdeka Curriculum which was introduced in 2022, replacing the 2013 Curriculum. The Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes learning flexibility, student-centeredness, and adaptation to individual interests and talents. On the other hand, the Character-Based Education Curriculum focuses on building character and moral values, with the aim of producing individuals with high integrity. This research compares the two curricula, provides a conceptual overview, and assists schools in selecting and adapting curricula that suit educational goals using a descriptive qualitative approach through research instruments in the form of interviews. It is hoped that the research results can make a significant contribution to curriculum development in Indonesia and become a reference for stakeholders in improving the quality of basic education.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the optimization of irrigation management services carried out by the Water Resources Coordinator for the Glenmore region through the regional interpreter with HIPPA for the Tegalsari region. Research conducted at the Glenmore regional Water Resources Coordinator used a qualitative descriptive approach. The data collection techniques used were direct observation, in-depth interviews and secondary sources (documents, theses, journals). From the survey that has been carried out, the research results show that irrigation management services in the Tegalsari area carried out by Juru together with HIPPA in the Tegalsari area are less than optimal. The Tegalsari area is included in the work area of ​​the Glenmore regional air resources coordinator which is in the downstream area and has quite extensive raw rice fields but the water supply in the area is inadequate, causing a shortage in air demand. Apart from that, the results of this research found that the large area of ​​Tegalsari causes irrigation management services to be not optimal, and the distribution of water discharge in farmers' fields is not timely. In conditions like this it is very important to manage air sources and irrigation water distribution systems. KORSDA through the HIPPA joint interpreter and farmers in the Tegalsari area need to hold regular meetings for socialization and coordination regarding irrigation management and drawing up plans for the distribution of needed irrigation water. The water mill system is one way to distribute irrigation water.

Abstract

The use of new media is now starting to spread to government. The government is currently also intensifying its public information disclosure program in accordance with Law no. 14 of 2008 concerning Openness of Public Information. The research approach model used is qualitative content analysis. Through the government website, the community can benefit from information regarding making KTPs, village funds, government agendas, the latest news in the area where they live, public services, procurement information, government vision and mission, participating in supervising and overseeing government wheels, reporting on government performance, and many more. lots of other information that can be seen. With the many advantages of this new media, the government will also be greatly helped in carrying out its functions, especially in providing information and public services to the community. The public will also be greatly helped by the convenience obtained from the use of new media in the government sector.

Abstract

This research examined about coherence and unity of the students’ writing descriptive paragraph at Grade VIII in SMP Negeri 2 Pematangsiantar. The problem of the research is : How are the students’ coherence and unity in writing descriptive paragraph at grade VIII of SMP Negeri Pematangsiantar. This research was designed as qualitative research in which the data was analyzed inductively. The researcher used one class to analyze their writing. The data was taken from writing essay from the students in Eight-9 class. The students are grade VIII at SMP Negeri 2 Pematangsiantar as the subject of this research. The result of this research showed that there are still many students’ writing that do not contain coherence and unity, they are: coherence and unity or advance criteria are 6 students, intermediate 9 students, Basic criteria are 6 students, Beginner criteria are 4. By seeing the research findings, the researcher concluded that the ability of the students in writing descriptive paragraph is still did not able to writing with coherence and unity.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the analysis of ice breaking activities in science lessons at SD Negeri Pengaradan 02. The main focus of this study is on how ice breaking activities are conducted in science classes at SD Negeri Pengaradan 02, the factors that influence and hinder the success of these activities. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach by utilizing documentation, observation, and interviews as data collection methods. Analysis techniques such as data collection, editing, processing, and verification are used. The findings indicate that incorporating ice-breaking activities in science education can improve student learning outcomes by reducing dropout rates and increasing concentration. Common ice breakers used by teachers include songs, sports, and games held at the end or during breaks between classes. The implementation of ice breaking in science lessons can make students more engaged, confident, and cooperative during the learning process. However, in the process of implementing ice breaking, teachers must consider the classroom environment and students' learning styles to determine whether the activities can be carried out or not. Factors affecting ice breaking have the potential to streamline the learning process and make classes more interesting and enjoyable. The main benefit of ice breaking activities is the teacher's creative ability to explain the various types of ice breaking that occur in the classroom.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media pembelajaran berupa permainan ular tangga dengan pendekatan discovery learning guna meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi ekosistem kelas 3 SD Negeri Waduk. Proses pengembangan dilakukan melalui beberapa tahap, termasuk validasi oleh ahli media dan materi, serta uji coba terbatas kepada siswa kelas III. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media yang dikembangkan memiliki validitas yang tinggi dengan nilai 89,3% untuk validasi media dan 95,5% untuk validasi materi, yang keduanya berada dalam kategori sangat layak. Uji coba terbatas menunjukkan bahwa media ini sangat efektif digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran, dengan skor 87,2% yang juga berada dalam kategori sangat layak. Berdasarkan hasil ini, media ular tangga dengan pendekatan discovery learning direkomendasikan sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran yang efektif untuk meningkatkan pemahaman siswa pada materi ekosistem.

Abstract

The use of learning media is very important in the teaching and learning process. The media used can make it easier for teachers to convey information to students, one of which is by using card media to introduce letters to young children. Card media is a simple media developed to create fun and interactive learning. Card media for introducing letters usually contains the letters A to Z along with picture words. Letter card media is one solution in improving the ability to recognize letters in early childhood. The method used in this research is the library study method or can be called literature study. The results of this research state that card media can be used to improve the ability to recognize letters in early childhood and can be used by teachers to facilitate learning in recognizing letters, making it easy to convey information related to letter recognition. The conclusion of this research is based on previous research articles related to the use of card media as a medium for learning to recognize letters. It suggests that card media can be used by teachers to facilitate the learning process and improve the ability to recognize letters in early childhood.
