Abstract

Aims : the purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between social media addiction, mental health, and academic performance among adolescents in Depok, Indonesia. Methods : A cross-sectional study was conducted in senior high school students in Depok, West Java, among teenagers aged 15-18 years. The Social Media Addiction Scale-Student Form (SMAS-SF) Questionnaire scale, the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS), and the Social Media and Academic Performance of Students (SMAAPOS) were the scales employed. Results : The mean age of the 200 adolescents in the intervention group was 16.37 (SD+2.55), with 60% being male. With an average score of 88.43 (SD=24.53), respondents demonstrated a moderate level of social media dependency. The respondents' mental health score dropped from 21.37.78 to 90.2137.24, and their academic performance was mediocre. Social media dependency (r=0.241) and sadness (r=0.405) were found to be substantially related to academic performance. Conclusions : correlation between social media addiction and mental health problems (r=0.334) was discovered. Supportive social environments and social networks, as well as improved emotional regulation and resilience in the face of stress and adversity, are central goals of interventions for the promotion and prevention of mental illness.

Abstract

Aims : Mental health literacy involves understanding and coping with mental health issues, accessing information, and maintaining a healthy mindset. However, the average public struggles with mental health and postnatal depression. Researchers aim to investigate the impact of postpartum depression education on the depression rate among new mothers in Indonesia. Methods : This study, conducted in Depok, Indonesia, aimed to assess postpartum depression knowledge among women with single deliveries, postpartum days 10-3 months, and normal babies, using the PoDLiS test and Beck Depression Inventory II. Results : The Pearson correlation coefficient was utilized to examine the relationship between postpartum literacy and postpartum depression in women. This study included about 310 women. The average age was 31.56 years (with a standard deviation of 5.37 years). Postpartum literacy was found to be linked with postpartum depression (r=0.453, p0.05). Conclusions : Postpartum depression was linked to postpartum literacy. All women attending postnatal clinics should be subjected to simple screening measures early in the postpartum period, and this should continue for at least a year or two after birth.

Abstract

Aims : the study aimed to test the effectiveness of the zilgrei methode in primigravida mother with second stage labor of long second stage, incidence laceration, infant condition and the scale pain of labor. Methods : The study used a queasy experimental design with a control group, collecting primary data through observation, partographs, APGAR score, and pain scale assessment for 6 months. Result : The result of the bivariate test shows that the mean comparison of the long second stage was different between the two groups (p-value 0,001). No significant difference in the proportion of the incidence laceration (p= 0.370), APGAR score at first, fifth, and ten minutes (p>0.005). There was a significant comparison of pain scale between a group with and without Zilgrei Method (p=0.000). Conclusions : Based on the results of this study Zilgrei method can be applied as an alternative non-pharmacological method to shorten the second stage and reduce pain on labor. For further research, it is necessary to consider controlling the weight of a born baby and maternal risk factors to determine the effect of applying the Zilgrei method optimally to the laceration of the birth canal and the condition of the baby at birth.

Abstract

Aims: Stroke, a severe neurological condition, can be fatal and can be influenced by smoking habits and lifestyle choices, as it can cause plaque buildup in blood vessels. This study to determine the association between smoking behaviour and the severity of stroke in stroke patients. Methods: The study used cross-sectional research with 51 respondents, measuring smoking habits and stroke severity. Results showed a significant positive relationship between smoking habits and stroke severity, with 23.5% having light smoking and 33.3% having mild strokes. Results: The research reveals that 62.7% of stroke patients treated at Al Ihsan Regional Hospital are male, with most having infarction strokes and being over 60 years old. Most have a smoking habit of 10-20 cigarettes per day, with moderate habits. Smoking habits can trigger atherosclerosis, causing strokes and affecting clinical outcomes. Conclusions: The study found a moderate relationship between smoking habits and stroke severity in stroke patients at Al Ihsan Regional Hospital, with smoking habits affecting the degree of stroke and causing infarction.

Abstract

Aims: Quality of health services refers to the level of perfection provided by a hospital, and poor service quality can lead to dissatisfied patients and decreased patient visits. This study was to analyze the relationship between service quality and satisfaction of inpatients at RH Purwakarta Hospital. Methods: The research approach included a cross-sectional study, incorporating factors such as service quality (including characteristics of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and physical evidence) and satisfaction. The research sample consisted of 99 inpatients from RH Purwakarta Hospital, selected using an incidental sampling technique. A questionnaire was utilized as the instrument. The analysis employed the chi-square test with a significance threshold of 95%. It involved paramedical professionals and other personnel, as mentioned by Aryanti et al. (2022). Results: The results of the analysis indicate that the contentment of inpatients at RH Purwakarta Hospital is correlated with the quality of health services (pvalue= 0,0001). Therefore, it is possible to infer that an individual's satisfaction with the quality of service will be influenced by their interest in receiving treatment at that particular service location in the future. Conclusions: Research indicates that service quality significantly impacts patient satisfaction, highlighting the need for RH Purwakarta hospital to enhance service standards to boost patient visits and loyalty.

Abstract

Aims: Critically ill patients' severe symptoms and higher mortality risk can impact sleep quality. Non-pharmacological therapy, including lavender aromatherapy and earplugs, can improve sleep quality in these patients. To determine the effect of the combination of lavender aromatherapy and the use of earplugs on sleep quality in critically ill patients. Methods: This study uses a Quasy Experiment design with a one-group pretest-posttest design, involving 33 participants aged 18-65, with The Richards-Campbell Sleep Questionnaire, and uses Paired Sample t-Test for data processing. Results: In this study, an overview of the sleep quality of critical patients showed an improvement. An analysis of the sleep quality of critically ill individuals revealed a notable enhancement. The study found a significant improvement in sleep quality after the lavender aromatherapy intervention and the use of earplugs in the intervention group, as indicated by a p-value of 0.001 (p<0.05). Conclusion: The findings of this study indicate that the use of lavender aromatherapy intervention with earplugs can positively impact the sleep quality of critically ill patients. Furthermore, nurses can independently use lavender aromatherapy and earplug use as crucial nursing treatments.

Abstract

Aims: Stroke is the second leading cause of death and disability globally, characterized by sudden neurological deficits. Pressure ulcers, caused by prolonged bed rest, can be managed non-pharmacologically through immobilization and routine tilting to prevent decubitus. To compare the effectiveness of the lateral position with an inclination of 30 and 90 degrees on the risk of decubitus in stroke patients, in this study the control group was tilted 90 degrees and the intervention group was tilted 30 degrees. Method: The sampling method is non-probability sampling with purposive sampling, a sample of 22 patients. Results: Data analysis using Reapeted Measurement Anova resulted in a value in the experimental group resulting in a sum of square value of 24.9, f value 14.3, P < 0.001, while in the control group a sum of square value of 76.5, f value 26.8, P < 0.001 was obtained, so it can be concluded that the lateral position with an inclination of 90 degrees and 30 degrees has the same effect, namely providing a significant influence on reducing the risk of decubitus. Conclusions: The study reveals that stroke patients aged 56-65 have a higher risk of pressure ulcers, with low-weight patients at higher risk. Early lateral position intervention and nutrition can significantly reduce the risk of decubitus, highlighting the importance of early wound healing.
