<![CDATA[Nutritional problems in children under five age show an increasing trend in Indonesia, including Padang City. One of these nutritional problems is stunting. Stunting conditions can have an impact on the growth and development of children at a later age and even at the risk of developing degenerative diseases in adulthood. The purpose of nutrition education for mothers is to increase the knowledge and understanding of mothers about the importance of the First 1000 Days of Life in overcoming the nutritional problems among children. Activity was direct counseling to small groups about 1000 Days of Life and supported by leaflet. The target of the activity is pregnant women and mothers with toddlers who visit one of the Posyandu in Lapai Health Center Work Area, Nanggalo District, Padang City. Partner of this activity is Lapai Health Centre, mainly coorporate with nutritionist and health workers, including cadres in this health centre. Monitoring and evaluation of the success of activities are assessed from the results of the pre- and post-test submitted to the target of the activity. Educational activities were carried out well even though they were still in the pandemic and the implementation of social distancing. This activity was attended by 12 mothers of toddlers, 2 cadres, and 2 health workers from Lapai Health Center. Based on the results of the pre and post-test, it was found that there is an increase in the knowledge of mothers (66.7% to 83.3%). Thus, educational activities in the form of counseling through collaboration with educational institutions and health institutions can be carried out through Posyandu every month to prevent nutritional problems on children under five age.]]>

<![CDATA[UKS is part of the school-age child health program. Problems that often arise in the implementation of UKS are that the use of UKS space is not optimal and a cadre of students has not been formed in a sustainable manner to become UKS administrators, and the role of UKS at the elementary school level is not optimal in order to improve the health status of school-age children. Based on secondary data, it was found that the implementation of School Health Business at SDN 31 Pasia Nan Tigo, Koto Tangah District was not optimal. In addition, diseases caused by behavioral factors such as diarrhea, ARI, and helminthiasis, are still health problem that still often appears among the school-age group in this area, therefore it is necessary to develop and develop UKS activities by holding Little Doctor Training. The purpose of this activity is to form a small doctor so that the implementation of UKS is better so that school-age children can improve their own health and the health of others around them, especially their peers. or simulation. This activity went well. The participants participated in the activity enthusiastically and were able to answer the questions given at the end of the session. This activity can also increase the knowledge of small doctors about first aid. It is suggested to the school be able to cooperate with the Puskesmas in the Pasia Nan Tigo area to conduct comprehensive training of minor doctors.]]>

<![CDATA[Hypertension is the leading cause of premature death worldwide. Physiologically, as someone ages, their risk of developing hypertension increases. The objective of this activity is to enhance the knowledge of health volunteers regarding hypertension and its prevention as an effort to prevent hypertension in the elderly, particularly in the Koto Baru Nan XX Village, Lubuk Begalung District, Padang City. The method involves educational sessions and hypertension exercise training. The activity takes place at the Office of the Head of Koto Baru Nan XX Village, Lubuk Begalung District, Padang City. The target audience comprises 25 health volunteers working in elderly integrated health posts. The program includes lectures on hypertension and a demonstration of hypertension exercises. Additionally, pre-tests and post-tests are conducted to assess participants' knowledge levels before and after the training. The statistical analysis revealed a p-value of 0.0001, indicating a significant difference in the knowledge level before (pre-test) and after (post-test) the hypertension training among the health volunteers in Koto Baru Nan XX Village, Lubuk Begalung District, Padang City. On average, there was a significant increase in the knowledge level of the volunteers after the training. The average knowledge level of the volunteers significantly improved after the educational sessions compared to before. It is hoped that through this activity, health volunteers can encourage and teach hypertension exercises to the attendees of the elderly integrated health posts in Koto Baru Nan XX Village on a regular monthly basis.]]>

<![CDATA[The laying duck farming business in Nagari Surian is generally managed traditionally. Ducks are released in the morning and return to the cage in the afternoon and there are farmers who keep their ducks moving according to the rice harvest time in the local area. Maintenance management that has not been managed properly and the lack of knowledge of farmers are the main obstacles faced at the activity location so that the productivity of ducks is still very low. This activity aims to identify these problems and find solutions by developing appropriate programs for the next three years. The method of activities carried out in this activity is through online and offline discussions and consultations. This program is implemented on a people's duck farm located in Nagari Surian, Pantai Cermin District, Solok Regency. Activities are carried out by discussing with duck farmers to find out the obstacles experienced and then developing programs to overcome these problems. From the program that has been prepared, it is hoped that the program can be implemented properly so that it can overcome the problems of breeders and can increase the local duck population and make Nagari Surian as one of the producers of duck eggs in West Sumatra Province.]]>

<![CDATA[Procurement of artificial fertilizers is very limited, in addition to the high price, sometimes the distribution of fertilizer at retail kiosks experiences various obstacles in the smooth distribution. Therefore there must be other efforts in the procurement of liquid organic fertilizers (LOF) that take from raw materials found in nature. The purpose was to socialize the manufacture of C.odora LOF and its application techniques and benefits to plants. This counseling was carried out at the Nanggalo Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) office, Padang City. The activity began with a request from the Nanggalo Agricultural Extension Center, Padang City, to the Faculty of Agriculture for their willingness to provide counseling in their office. In accordance with the agreed schedule, the activities were carried out. In this activity, the team from the Faculty of Agriculture, consisted of 3 group members and was attended by no less than 20 Padang City instructors. On this occasion, the activity began with remarks from the Head of BPP, then a lecture using an LCD projector and a question and answer discussion about the topics discussed and a group photo. The conclusion was that making of LOF has become important at this time because artificial fertilizers are increasingly expensive and limited in availability. Agricultural extension workers have an important role in disseminating this activity to farmer groups in their working areas. Making LOF is also one of the efforts to reduce organic waste that can pollute the environment.]]>

<![CDATA[According to the Global Youth Tobacco Survey (YGTS), there has been an increase in teenage smokers aged 13-15 years in the last five years, from 18.2% in 2014 to 19.2%. The survey results also show that adolescents are exposed to various media advertisements and quickly access cigarettes. Cigarettes contain highly addictive substances that can cause addiction and negatively impact adolescents' health and future. MTsS Thawalib Padang Islamic Boarding School has never received education regarding the dangers of smoking, and there are also cases of students smoking. This activity aims to increase knowledge and motivate youth not to smoke. Thawalib Padang. The target audience for this activity is all male students in Islamic boarding schools. The methods used are counseling, poster installation, and distribution of cigarette books. The activity was carried out by a team of lecturers and students from the Faculty of Public Health, Andalas University, which 75 students attended. After the activities were carried out, there was an increase in the average level of knowledge before (pre-test) counseling from 10.00 to 11.92 after (post-test) counseling with a p-value of 0.000. It can be concluded that there is an increase in knowledge after smoking-related education. It is hoped that students will be aware of the dangers of smoking and that students will be motivated not to smoke or smoke. It is also hoped that MTsS Thawalib Padang Islamic Boarding School will enforce a smoking-free area and strictly supervise students who smoke.]]>

<![CDATA[Disaster events both natural and non-natural factors such as epidemics can occur anytime and anywhere, which can affect communities and individuals. This natural or human-caused event or series of events can result in human casualties and suffering. Losses caused by disasters can be minimized or prevented if people's understanding of the disaster itself is sufficient, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Purpose: This activity is to conduct disaster mitigation training in the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic for teachers at the Kanzul Ulum Islamic Boarding School, Kelurahan, in Pasie Nan Tigo, Koto Tangah District, Padang City. Activity target: the people of Pasie Nan Tigi Koto are able to carry out disaster mitigation and evacuation in the event of an earthquake followed by a tsunami, rising sea levels and waves. Method: activities in the form of lectures and exercises that begin with the distribution of masks to all participants involved in the activity, and filling out questionnaires on Covid-19 prevention and disaster management. After delivering the material, it was followed by a discussion on Covid-19 prevention, as well as drills on disaster mitigation and victim evacuation. The results of the activity were an increase in disaster mitigation and evacuation capabilities as well as an increase in participants' awareness in implementing health protocols for the prevention of Covid-19. Most of the participants' understanding of Covid-19 prevention and disaster management had increased, as evidenced by the increase in the number of correct questionnaire answers during the post-test compared to the pre-test from 50% to 80%. In addition, participants' skills have also increased regarding disaster mitigation, the implementation of evacuation techniques when a disaster occurs and how to evacuate victims when the disaster has subsided. Conclusion: Every individual left behind in a disaster-prone area needs to receive knowledge and training skills in disaster mitigation and evacuation techniques during the Covid-19 pandemic.]]>

<![CDATA[Sanitary napkins are used by women during menstruation to absorb blood from the vagina. Sanitary napkins are divided into 2 types, namely disposable pads which are usually made of cotton and plastic, and cloth pads that can be reused (reusable pads). According to the Indonesian Consumers Foundation (YLKI) sanitary napkins are one of the highest polluters in Indonesia. The amount of pad waste in one month can reach 1.4 billion. In addition, the discovery of chlorine which is harmful to health. The average woman uses more than 16,000 pads/tampons/pantyliners during her lifetime. That means, there are more than 45 million women's products are used and discarded every year. In Indonesia alone, it turns out that sanitary pads can reach 26 tons every day. The Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Andalas University realizes that the problem of waste, especially waste from pads, is very important for the balance of the environmental ecosystem. As an initial step to reduce sanitary napkin waste by providing education and socialization on the manufacture of cloth sanitary napkins. The service activity began with socialization with the school principal and teachers, after which it was given to all 29 Al-Ishlah High School students. Then a pre-test was conducted to find out the students' knowledge regarding eco-friendly sanitary napkins and menstruation where more than half of the students (89%) had good knowledge about reproductive health. After that, counseling was carried out regarding the impact of using disposable sanitary napkins on the environment and educating female students to use cloth sanitary napkins and explaining how to make cloth sanitary napkins. It is hoped that by carrying out this community service activity, the use of disposable pads/plastic pads can be reduced little by little, so that the amount of sanitary pad waste can be reduced and the environment will be better.]]>

<![CDATA[Nanggalo is vulnerable to social problems such as juvenile delinquency. Juvenile delinquency cases such as drug abuse, theft often occur around Surau Gadang Village, Nanggalo. One of the factors that cause delinquency is the lack of moral education. One of the qualified moral education is the religious approach. One of the religious institutions is the house of tahfiz Al-Qur'an. Based on the results of interviews with local RT officials, it was found that there had never been counseling about drugs in the area. In addition, there is a tahfidz institution as a means of preventing drug abuse, but the number of students is still minimal due to lack of promotion. The purpose of this community service is to increase the knowledge of teenagers about drugs and increase the promotion of the tahfidz house. Community service uses health promotion methods by distributing anti-drug flyers, education about drug prevention to teenagers and promoting the Baitul Qu'ran tahfidz house. The activity was carried out at the Raya Nanggalo Mosque and Al-Qadar Mosque. The results of this community service show that there is an increase in adolescent knowledge before and after being given counseling about drugs. Around 49 teenagers in Surau Gadang Village have been exposed to information about the existence of the Baitul Qur'an tahfidz house. It is hoped that in the future the promotion of the Tahfidz house can be carried out more broadly, such as using social media.]]>

<![CDATA[Inappropriate Handwashing with Soap (HIS) behavior is still high in children aged ten years and under. The results showed that there was a relationship between the behavior of washing hands with soap and diarrhea in children. Diarrhea is still included in the order of 10 most diseases in Padang city. This activities aims to improve (HIS) behavior in Kindergarten students. The activity targets kindergarten students in Nanggalo District, Padang City, namely Arrozaq Islamic Kindergarten and Nurul Halim Islamic Kindergarten, totaling 66 people. The activity began with introductions, providing information about the importance of (HIS) and showing a video containing a short drama about the importance of (HIS), the consequences if not (HIS), and (HIS) dance. (HIS) dance teaches how to wash hands with soap properly and correctly. After that, good and correct (HIS) practice was carried out. Health promotion using dance and singing media got a good response from kindergarten students. Participants paid close attention to the information provided and were enthusiastic in carrying out activities, especially in the socialization of (HIS) dance. It is hoped that this activity can take place on an ongoing basis for all kindergarten students in Padang city, considering that the requirement for applying for kindergarten accreditation is the availability of (HIS) equipment in schools. Therefore, it is hoped that there will be continuous training for students about (HIS).]]>
