Abstract

Cyberbullying in adolescents involves strong emotional aspects, where emotional disturbances serve as crucial signals in these cases. This research aims to understand the role of the Tri Pusat Pendidikan in addressing cyberbullying in adolescents. A literature review approach was employed by gathering data from various sources such as articles, books, journals, documents, and websites, which were analyzed meticulously. The research findings indicate that cyberbullying in adolescents is a complex issue influenced by their emotions and moral values. When emotions are disturbed or moral values are low, cyberbullying can act as a trigger. Psychological support for adolescents who are frequent victims of cyberbullying becomes crucial as they may face difficulties in receiving love and communicating effectively. Effective preventive measures need to focus on character education rooted in moral values. To achieve this, collaboration between family, school, and society namely Tri Pusat Pendidikan is highly essential. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that adolescents can understand the importance of respecting others, avoiding bullying behavior, and using communication technology responsibly.

Abstract

Cyberbullying, an escalating issue, involves humiliating and threatening others electronically, primarily on platforms like Instagram. Generation Z, familiar with technology from childhood, faces the highest cyberbullying rates. This study aims to describe the phenomenon of cyberbullying on social media against the mental health of Generation Z in Jakarta about the view of the second principle of Pancasila. This study uses the literature review theory with data obtained in the form of articles, books, journals, documents, and websites that have been carefully studied to trigger the social phenomenon that is being pursued in society from 2017 to 2023 obtained from the electronic database Google Scholar. The results of this study show that cyberbullying on Generation Z on social media has a huge impact that affects mental health in the context of civilized humanity, which is considered a violation of the second principle of Pancasila which highly upholds the value of justice because the rights and dignity of a person are not respected, where an individual is treated unequally because another individual considers himself to be better in a certain aspect. The individual acts arbitrarily and there is no behavior of mutual love among fellow human beings.

Abstract

This paper has three main objectives: (1) establish the relationship between performance in vocabulary with performance in reading comprehension and writing; (2) determine whether good performance in reading comprehension automatically translates into corresponding good performance in vocabulary and writing or not; (3) establish the correlation between gender and performance in vocabulary, reading comprehension and writing attainment among Grade 12 students. Numerous first language studies show a high correlation between good readers and writers, assuming reading and writing mutually reinforce each other. Some explore the link between vocabulary size and depth and their correlation with reading and writing. Fewer studies examined the connection of (1) vocabulary and reading comprehension and (2) vocabulary knowledge and writing in a second language environment. These studies have reported that second language inputs (reading and writing) play a pivotal role in developing literacy skills amongst learners in second language contexts, i.e., reading input affects the development of writing and reading abilities and or vice versa (meaning, writing input could have the same effect). We recommend that education standards officers, school administrators, and teachers should design strategies to develop in students the habit of independent reading.
