Abstract

This study aimed to develop a peace education module based on Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to strengthen students’ conflict-resolution skills, particularly female students, at STKIP Taman Siswa Bima. The research employed the ADDIE model of Research and Development (R&D). The participants consisted of 90 students for the needs analysis and 30 purposively selected students for a limited trial. Data were collected through needs questionnaires, expert validation, practicality tests, classroom observations, authentic assessments, and pre-/post-tests of conflict-resolution skills. The findings revealed that the module achieved an average expert validation score of 4.45 (very valid) and a practicality score of 4.4 (very practical). Classroom observations resulted in an average score of 4.34 (very good), while authentic assessments of conflict-resolution skills reached an average of 4.34 (87%), categorized as very good. Effectiveness testing showed a significant improvement in conflict-resolution skills, increasing from M = 65.9 (SD = 8.7) at the pre-test to M = 78.8 (SD = 7.8) at the post-test, *t*(29) ≈ 6.5, *p* < 0.001, Cohen’s *d* ≈ 1.1 (large effect size). In conclusion, the PBL-based peace education module, which integrates the local cultural values of *Maja Labo Dahu* and moderate Islam, is valid, practical, and effective in enhancing students’ conflict-resolution skills. The module is recommended for broader implementation across study programs and community service activities as a tangible contribution to strengthening peace education in higher education. Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the role of the principal in implementing Islamic Transformative Leadership to encourage curriculum innovation at SMPN 4 Bangil, Pasuruan, while also emphasizing its significant contributions and implications for the development of character-based, innovative Islamic education. A qualitative approach with a case study method was used to gain a comprehensive understanding through in-depth interviews and direct observation over two months (February-March 2025). The study participants consisted of the principal and 10 teachers, who were purposively selected based on their experience, active involvement, and knowledge of the innovation process in the school. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and documentation of school activities, and then analyzed thematically to identify patterns and relationships between Islamic leadership strategies, organizational culture, and the success of curriculum innovation. The results show that the principal plays a central role as an inspiration, role model, and motivator in instilling Islamic values ​​, such as justice, sincerity, and morality, across all aspects of school activities, thereby increasing active teacher participation in curriculum innovation by up to 90%. Teacher empowerment strategies, effective communication, and the instilling of moral values are the main factors supporting the success of Islamic-based innovation. These findings provide practical recommendations for educational leaders to adopt Islamic Transformative Leadership as an essential leadership model in creating a resilient, innovative, and character-driven Islamic school ecosystem, thereby strengthening the quality and relevance of Islamic education in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of question-based learning strategies with the A'lam approach in the context of modern Islamic education, especially at MTs Nurul Hidayah Bandung. The A'lam method is a synthesis between the tradition of dialogue of the prophets in the Qur'an with contemporary critical pedagogical approaches such as Socratic Questioning. This approach not only emphasizes logical thinking skills, but also strengthens spiritual values and adab in the learning process. This research uses descriptive quantitative method with a questionnaire instrument distributed to madrasah students who have participated in learning based on the A'lam method. The results show that the A'lam method has high effectiveness in increasing students' active participation, building critical thinking, and internalizing Islamic values in a meaningful way. The five indicators used to assess this effectiveness include the clarity of questions from the teacher, students' participation in asking questions, the quality of student and teacher responses, critical thinking skills, and the strengthening of Islamic values in the learning process. All indicators showed high average scores. Therefore, the A'lam method is recommended as a strategic model in the development of integrative learning between intellectual and spiritual intelligence in contemporary Islamic education.

Abstract

This study examines the revitalization of the kitab kuning learning tradition through the practice of studying Al-Ghoyah wa at-Taqrib conducted by the Association of Female Islamic Boarding School Caregivers and Women Preachers (JPPPM) of Lampung. Employing a participatory ethnographic approach, data were collected through five observation sessions (90–120 minutes each), five interviews, and analysis of study-related documents. The findings show that the study sessions integrate the bandongan, sorogan, and muzakarah methods, leading to three main outcomes: (1) the strengthening of kitab kuning literacy, indicated by improved fluency in reading unvowelled texts among beginner participants who had previously struggled with nahwu–sharaf structures; (2) the formation of collective female authority through muzakarah forums that consistently address practical fiqh issues such as thaharah, family zakat, and women’s ritual practices; and (3) instructional innovation in the form of rotating instructors and simple digital documentation, which helps sustain the continuity of the study despite participants’ dual responsibilities as pesantren caregivers and preachers. The main challenges include disparities in participants’ reading abilities, limited access to supporting literature, and a culture of seniority that constrains the participation of younger members. Overall, the findings affirm that JPPPM Lampung has successfully developed an adaptive learning model that strengthens the scholarly capacity of women in pesantren and contributes to the sustainability of Islamic intellectual traditions.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology in the Fourth Industrial Revolution era has encouraged the education sector to transform, especially in terms of leadership. The concept of Digital Leadership emerged as a strategic response to the need for adaptive, innovative, and competitive schools. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design (field research). Data were collected through direct observation and document study by reviewing relevant journal articles, books, and policy documents. This study aims to analyze digital leadership in strengthening a culture of quality in education in an era of disruption. The findings show that digital leadership is not only about the use of technology, but also about the ability of school leaders to integrate technology with strategic vision, foster a collaborative culture, and encourage continuous innovation. Digital Leadership plays a key role in improving management effectiveness, accelerating data-driven decision making, and strengthening collaboration between teachers, students, parents, and the community. The gaps in this study are as follows: 1) most previous studies on leadership have focused on conventional or transformational leadership, while studies discussing digital leadership in the context of education are still relatively limited. 2) Studies on digital leadership directly related to the culture of educational quality are still not comprehensive, especially at the implementation level in educational institutions. This research contributes to strengthening a culture of quality through improving learning quality, data-driven decision-making, and creating an open organizational climate oriented towards continuous improvement. Abstract

Technology not only facilitates access to diverse resources but also allows for personalized learning experiences that cater to individual students' needs. Islamic education, especially in specialized subjects like Fiqh al-Mawaris (Islamic inheritance law), can greatly benefit from these technological advancements. Fiqh al-Mawaris deals with detailed regulations and inheritance shares based on Islamic law, which often involve intricate calculations and precise legal interpretations. Traditional teaching methods, which rely heavily on rote memorization and lectures, may not sufficiently support students in grasping these complexities. The purpose of this study is to examine how the i-Waris application is used as a learning medium and analyze its impact on students' understanding of Fiqh al-Mawaris. This study employed a qualitative research approach with a case study method, aiming to explore in depth the use of the i-Waris application in enhancing students’ understanding of Fiqh al-Mawaris. A qualitative approach was chosen to gain comprehensive insights into the implementation process, students’ experiences, and the contextual dynamics involved in using digital tools for Islamic education. The results of this study demonstrate that the use of the i-Waris application as a learning medium in Grade 12 of MA Raudhatul Muta'allimin Pacet has been shown to improve students' understanding of Fiqh al-Mawaris. The application's interactive features, including step-by-step calculations and scenario simulations, make the learning experience more concrete and understandable for students who previously struggled with the abstract and mathematical aspects of inheritance law.
