Abstract

Bima Script, also known as Aksara Mbojo, is one of the local cultural heritages that has been gradually neglected by the younger generation, particularly at the elementary school level. The lack of teaching materials and engaging learning methods has resulted in low student motivation to learn local scripts. This study aims to develop and assess the feasibility of context-based flashcards as an alternative learning media for teaching the Bima Script in elementary schools. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Develop, Evaluate). The participants were elementary school students in Rabakodo Village, with validation conducted by four experts, consisting of two media experts and two material experts. The assessment instrument used a 1–4 scale covering visual design, technical aspects, usability, contextual relevance, content feasibility, language, and alignment with learning objectives. The validation results indicated an average score of 94.16 percent for media aspects and 98.33 percent for material aspects, both categorized as “highly feasible.” The flashcard media proved to be simple, attractive, easy to use, and contextually relevant to students’ daily experiences, making it effective for introducing the Bima Script while supporting local cultural preservation. Therefore, context-based flashcards can serve as a practical learning medium that contributes to strengthening students’ cultural identity.

Abstract

The “Merdeka Belajar” policy represents Indonesia’s transformative effort to create a more flexible, humanistic, and competency-oriented educational ecosystem aligned with 21st-century demands. This article aims to analyze the philosophical foundations underpinning the policy and to evaluate its alignment with practical implementation in schools. Using a library research method, the study examines scholarly works, policy documents, and international educational reports. The findings reveal that Merdeka Belajar is grounded in progressivism, constructivism, humanism, existentialism, social reconstructionism, and the educational philosophy of Ki Hajar Dewantara. However, its implementation continues to face challenges, including teacher readiness, infrastructural limitations, digital inequality, and governance issues. The critical analysis highlights a persistent gap between the policy’s philosophical ideals and practical realities, indicating the need for strengthened teacher training, equitable resource distribution, and increased community involvement. The study concludes that the success of Merdeka Belajar depends not only on curriculum design but also on collective commitment among educational stakeholders to ensure a liberating, inclusive, and future-relevant learning environment.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how the principal’s digital leadership transforms learning at SMP Negeri 8 Toboali, South Bangka. Using a qualitative approach with an intrinsic case study design, the research employed in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation involving the principal, two teachers, and two students. The findings reveal that the principal established a well-defined digital vision, fostered a participatory digital learning culture, and designed professional development strategies that enable teachers to adapt to emerging technologies. Digital-based managerial communication and the strategic use of social media strengthened transparent and collaborative school governance. The study also shows an increase in students’ learning motivation through the integration of digital media, along with the emergence of various local solutions to address infrastructural limitations. Overall, visionary, participatory, and responsive digital leadership serves as a key catalyst in driving learning transformation within educational institutions located in non-urban areas.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the challenges of character education in the Society 5.0 era, where rapid digital development significantly influences students’ behavior, discipline, and spirituality. Conventional character education, which emphasizes cognitive aspects, is considered insufficient; therefore, a model that incorporates spiritual dimensions is urgently needed. The concept of Tazkiyatun Nafs (self-purification) combined with the Spiritual Growth Framework (SGF) is deemed relevant to strengthen self-awareness, self-control, and moral values among secondary school students. This research aims to analyze the needs for developing a learning model based on Tazkiyatun Nafs within the SGF framework for senior high schools. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach with a needs assessment as the initial stage. Data were collected through questionnaires (38 teachers), in-depth interviews, focus group discussions (24 teachers from 10 schools), and document analysis, and were analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. The findings revealed that the integration of spiritual values into classroom learning remains partial and ceremonial. A total of 89% of teachers emphasized the need for a model that enhances students’ self-awareness, 95% highlighted the urgency of strengthening spiritual values, and 94% supported the development of a Tazkiyatun Nafs-based learning model. Teachers also recommended the preparation of practical modules and training to ensure effective implementation. This study concludes that integrating Tazkiyatun Nafs with SGF has strong potential as an innovative strategy for strengthening students’ character education in secondary schools.

Abstract

The overlapping authority between the National Land Agency (BPN) and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) remains a persistent issue in Indonesia’s legal system, particularly regarding the issuance of land use certificates (SHP) and mining business permits (IUP). The inconsistency between the Basic Agrarian Law (UUPA) of 1960 and Law No. 4/2009 jo. Law No. 3/2020 on Mineral and Coal Mining (Minerba Law) has resulted in legal uncertainty and conflicts between land and mining rights. This study employs a normative juridical method through statutory, conceptual, and case approaches, with Bandung High Court Decision No. 116/PDT/2020/PT BDG as its primary source. The findings reveal that a mining business permit cannot nullify existing land rights, and every IUP holder must first settle land ownership status before conducting mining operations. The hierarchy of laws places the UUPA as the superior legal norm, while the Minerba Law serves as a sectoral regulation subject to the principle of lex superior derogat legi inferiori.

Abstract

in the village head elections of Haunatas I and Siraja Gorat. Many studies on this topic show that clans often prioritize resources or power. The distribution of resources and power serves as a bargaining chip for clan elites in determining their stance. On the other hand, if an agreement is reached between clans, the possibility of open competition between clans can be minimized. However, if disagreements arise between clans, competition will ensue, potentially triggering inter-clan conflict. The theory applied in this study is the clan politics theory proposed by Kathleen Collins, using qualitative research methods through a case study approach in the 2021 Haunatas I village head election and the 2023 Siraja Gorat village head election. The results show that both villages implemented a village head election mechanism based on inter-clan agreement. However, only Haunatas I village successfully maintained and achieved this agreement. This study found that informal negotiation processes and mediation efforts significantly influenced the continuity and achievement of inter-clan agreements.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze issues related to the effectiveness of learning, such as low teacher discipline, insufficient instructional supervision, limited learning innovation, and the suboptimal use of technology. These conditions indicate that the principal’s role as a manager has not been fully effective. The principal plays an important role in managing all school assets to achieve learning that is effective, efficient, and oriented toward improving the quality of education. The approach used in this study is qualitative descriptive, with research respondents consisting of school leaders, educators, and administrative staff at the junior high school level. Data were collected through interviews, field observations, and document review, which were then processed using an interactive model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings of this study indicate that the principal has carried out managerial duties optimally, covering the stages of planning, organizing, implementing activities, and controlling the learning process. In the planning function, the principal develops programs to improve learning quality by involving all school members. In the organizing function, the principal allocates teacher and staff responsibilities proportionally and forms effective work teams. During the implementation stage, the principal provides motivation, supervision, and support for teachers in applying innovative learning methods. Meanwhile, in the supervision function, the principal conducts continuous evaluations of teacher performance and student learning outcomes to ensure the effectiveness of the learning process. Overall, the results show that principals who effectively perform their managerial role are able to create a conducive learning environment, enhance teacher professionalism, and encourage active student participation in the learning process. Thus, the principal’s role as a manager contributes significantly to improving learning effectiveness and the quality of education in junior high schools.
