Abstract

This study aims to analyze the educational role of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) in supporting village tourism development, strengthening local cultural identity, and fostering social innovation through community-based learning processes in the waterfall tourism area of Senaru Village, North Lombok. Tourism development in this context is not only viewed as an economic activity but also as a medium for community education that promotes local knowledge, cultural values, and environmental awareness. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed to explore these phenomena in depth. Data were collected through direct observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, which includes data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that Senaru Village has strong potential for educational tourism derived from its natural attractions, such as Tiu Kelep and Sendang Gile waterfalls, traditional Bale houses, and the ancient Bayan Mosque, which function as spaces for cultural, historical, and environmental learning. BUMDes plays a strategic role in facilitating community education by empowering youth, women, micro and small enterprises, and traditional groups through participatory tourism management. The involvement of women through the Women Gaet organization as culturally knowledgeable tour guides reflects an informal educational process that enhances visitors’ learning experiences while simultaneously strengthening local capacity and social innovation. However, several challenges remain, including limited accessibility, environmental cleanliness, and visitor safety, which indicate the need for strengthened educational awareness and capacity building in sustainable tourism management. This study concludes that integrating education and local wisdom into village tourism development contributes to sustainable social, cultural, and economic development while reinforcing village identity and community resilience.

Abstract

This study investigates the algebra problem-solving abilities of junior high school students and explores the factors influencing their performance. Using a quantitative research design, the study assesses students' problem-solving skills through an algebra test and surveys measuring metacognitive awareness and self-confidence. A sample of 62 junior high school students was selected using stratified random sampling. The results show that while students demonstrated moderate proficiency in algebra, they particularly struggled with word problems, which require translating real-world scenarios into algebraic expressions. Performance on word problems was notably lower than on tasks involving basic algebraic manipulations. The study also reveals significant correlations between students’ metacognitive awareness and self-confidence and their problem-solving abilities, suggesting that students who are more aware of their thinking processes and confident in their abilities tend to perform better. The findings underscore the importance of metacognitive skills and self-confidence in improving algebra problem-solving and suggest that instructional strategies focusing on these aspects could enhance students' mathematical performance. This study has important implications for algebra instruction, recommending the incorporation of metacognitive strategies, reflective thinking, and problem-solving frameworks into the curriculum. Future research should explore the impact of different teaching methods and longitudinally track students' problem-solving development

Abstract

he rapid expansion of educational digitalization has transformed the ways individuals access knowledge, engage with learning environments, and construct their social identities. In Denpasar, digital penetration is particularly high, with nearly all junior high school students owning and using smartphones as part of their daily routines. Nevertheless, this access has not been accompanied by adequate levels of digital wisdom—the critical, ethical, and responsible use of technology. As a result, a new form of digital divide emerges, known as the digital wisdom gap, wherein students possess technological access but lack the capacity to utilize it meaningfully for cognitive growth and character development. This study contextualizes the global issue of educational digitalization within the local realities of Denpasar and analyzes it through the philosophical frameworks of ontology, epistemology, and axiology. The findings reveal that unwise smartphone use impacts students’ identity formation, ways of knowing, and value orientation. The article offers humanistic and educationally grounded solutions involving digital literacy education, character formation, digital pedagogy empowerment, and strengthened family–school collaboration to foster digital wisdom from an early age.

Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of Virtual Reality (VR) as an innovative learning medium in Islamic History courses at universities. The main issue raised is the low level of student interest and understanding due to conventional teaching methods that tend to be abstract. This study uses a qualitative research method with a literature study approach, examining reputable journals and academic books published between 2020 and 2025 that are relevant to the use of VR in education. The results show that VR can improve understanding of historical concepts, motivate students, and encourage active engagement through immersive learning experiences. Previous studies also confirm that VR helps students understand historical contexts more realistically, strengthens historical thinking skills, and improves information retention. Additionally, this technology supports andragogical learning and student-centered approaches. This study demonstrates that VR has great potential as a strategic medium for deepening the learning of Islamic History.

Abstract

Children are not yet able to fulfill their own needs. All of a child's needs must still be provided for by their parents, such as shelter, food, and clothing. In addition, children also need care, guidance, and education from their parents. A child's early education will determine their personality, mental state, and behavior in the future. In reality, many fathers as parents do not take care of their children, so it can be said that they have neglected their obligations. According to Article 49 paragraph (1) of Law Number 1 of 1974 concerning Marriage in conjunction with Article 109 of the Compilation of Islamic Law, the authority of one or both parents over their minor children can be revoked for a certain period of time if the parents seriously neglect their obligations towards their children or behave very badly. This study aims to determine the judge's considerations in revoking the biological father's guardianship rights over his child and appointing the grandfather as the child's guardian in decision number 329/Pdt.G/2020/PA.Bjb. The type of research used is normative legal research, which is research conducted by examining reference materials that constitute secondary data, also known as literature research. The data obtained in the literature research is secondary data, consisting of primary and secondary legal materials. The results of the research are analyzed prescriptively using the deductive method. The conclusions are: (1) The judge's consideration to revoke the biological father's guardianship rights over his child was because the biological father had neglected his obligations as a father and had abandoned his child when the child was 25 days old, and to date his whereabouts are unknown. The family has tried to locate the biological father but has been unsuccessful. (2) The judge's consideration in deciding that the plaintiff (grandfather) be appointed as the child's guardian is because the plaintiff has fulfilled the various requirements and conditions that must be met in the appointment of a guardian as stipulated in Article 4 paragraph (1) of Government Regulation Number 29 of 2019 concerning the Requirements and Procedures for Appointing a Guardian. The judge's decision to revoke the biological father's guardianship rights over his child and appoint the grandfather as the child's guardian can provide legal protection for the child, as the child is assured that his rights will be fulfilled.

Abstract

Reflective activities is important to measure  students’ engagement and understanding of the learning process (Zatalini & Assassi, 2025). In the digital age, journaling has become a valuable tool that allows students to express their thoughts, emotions and evaluation of classroom experiences (Bingöl, 2025). Digital journaling offers learners an accessible platform to articulate emotions, perceptions, and evaluations of their learning journey (Phetsut & Waemusa, 2022). Despite its potential, the use of digital journaling to capture students’ post-class reflections remains unexplored (Yaacob et al., 2020). digital formats will allow to give an immediate expression, integration of multimedia and greater flexibility, which can increase students' motivation and authenticity in reflection (Yunus et al., 2023). This study aimed to investigate students’ perspectives on the teaching and learning process through digital journaling and to identify emotional and reflective themes from their entries. Using qualitative descriptive design with 20 students enrolled in the Pusat Bahasa course submitted weekly digital journal reflection over 4 weeks. Thematic analysis revealed four key themes namely emotional responses, instructional perceptions, self-reflection on learning and suggestions for improvement (Riyanti, 2021). The findings showed that students frequently experienced positive emotions, enjoyed interactive and visual activities and become more aware of their learning progress. Many feedback also included ideas to enhance engagement such as incorporating games and small group activities. Digital journaling is a powerful reflective tool that fosters student’s introspection, metacognitive growth and contributes to more adaptive, learner-centered teaching practices.

Abstract

This article examines the defeat of Joko Widodo in the 2019 Presidential Election in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) by focusing on identity politics and the resistance movement among Muslim voters. The defeat was not merely the result of formal electoral factors, but was strongly influenced by local socio religious dynamics that intensified prior to the election. This study employs a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in depth interviews with religious leaders, political volunteers, and community members, as well as document analysis and media coverage. The findings indicate that the mobilization of religious identity played a crucial role in shaping political resistance against Joko Widodo. Narratives of ulama criminalization, post-212 movement sentiments, and dissatisfaction with local political representation significantly reinforced voter opposition. This resistance movement was consolidated through networks of religious actors and volunteers who effectively produced and disseminated oppositional narratives at the local level. The study highlights that identity politics in the 2019 presidential election in NTB functioned as a powerful instrument of political mobilization capable of shifting voter preferences and influencing electoral outcomes.
