Abstract

This study discusses the social strategies implemented by the DPC IPeKB Pangkalpinang in efforts to prevent and reduce stunting through the Gerakan Orang Tua Asuh Cegah Stunting (GENTING) program. The background of this research stems from the persistently high and fluctuating stunting rates in Pangkalpinang City each year, as well as the differing interpretations between the government and the community regarding the meaning of stunting itself. This research employs a qualitative approach using a case study method, with data collected through interviews and observations involving families at risk of stunting, posyandu cadres, and the management of DPC IPeKB Pangkalpinang. The findings indicate that the community, particularly families at risk of stunting, generally do not understand the scientific concept of stunting. Most people still interpret stunting as a physical condition of a child being small or thin, or as a hereditary trait, rather than as a result of chronic malnutrition. Furthermore, some community members still associate stunting with traditional beliefs, such as “penyakit budak” (child illness), which is perceived as a non-medical or supernatural disorder. Through the GENTING program, DPC IPeKB plays an active role in bridging this gap in understanding by conducting direct outreach, providing nutritional assistance, offering health education, and guiding families at risk of stunting. The program has proven effective in raising public awareness about the importance of nutrition, hygiene, and healthy parenting patterns. Theoretically, this research is analyzed using Peter L. Berger’s (1990) theory of social construction, which emphasizes that social change occurs through three stages: externalization, objectivation, and internalization. The GENTING program has proven to be an important instrument in shaping new social awareness, as communities begin to understand that stunting is not a matter of fate or heredity, but a preventable condition through improved lifestyle and nutritional intake

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of ChatGPT, an AI-assisted reading tool, on the critical reading skills of English Education students at the Universitas Pendidikan Mandalika (UNDIKMA). The research was motivated by the need to enhance students’ critical literacy, which remains a persistent challenge in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) context. Employing a quasi-experimental design, the study involved two groups of third-semester students enrolled in a Critical Reading course: an experimental group that used ChatGPT to support reading activities, and a control group that received traditional instruction without AI assistance. Over a six-week intervention, the experimental group interacted with ChatGPT to clarify vocabulary, summarize texts, analyze arguments, and generate comprehension questions, while the control group followed conventional reading procedures. Data were collected through pretests, posttests, questionnaires, and interviews. Quantitative analysis using paired-sample and independent-sample t-tests revealed that the experimental group achieved a significantly higher mean gain (M = 18.06, p < .001) compared to the control group (M = 8.20, p < .001), with a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 1.37). Qualitative findings indicated that students perceived ChatGPT as engaging, helpful for understanding complex texts, and effective in developing critical awareness. However, some expressed concerns about potential overreliance on AI-generated responses. The study concludes that ChatGPT can serve as an effective pedagogical tool to enhance EFL students’ critical reading skills when integrated thoughtfully and ethically. It recommends that educators provide structured guidance in using AI tools to foster analytical thinking, autonomy, and responsible digital literacy in higher education reading courses.

Abstract

This study aims to formulate learning Best Practices based on the ecological traditions and local culture of the Lambitu community by integrating the values of Tri Hita Karana (THK). Employing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with cultural leaders, local artisans, and educators, as well as documentation of cultural artifacts and ecological practices. The findings reveal a strong alignment between Lambitu’s cultural traditions and the three dimensions of THK—Parahyangan, Pawongan, and Palemahan—providing a pedagogical foundation for contextual and character-based learning. Five Best Practices were identified: Uma Lengge–based Eco–Ethno Learning, the “Adopt a Sacred Spring” conservation program, the Tembe Nggoli Character Project, the Eco–Craft Pandan Project, and the Mbolo Weki Education Forum. The study concludes that learning rooted in local culture supports holistic education that reflects harmonious relationships between humans, nature, and spirituality as conceptualized in THK values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the contribution of Self-Regulated Learning to students’ creative thinking skills in modern hair bun styling through a Systematic Literature Review approach. The urgency of this research lies in the vocational education demand for learners who are not only technically skilled but also capable of demonstrating creativity in solving aesthetic problems and producing original modern hair bun designs. This research employs a Systematic Literature Review guided by the PRISMA 2020 protocol, including identification, screening, eligibility, and synthesis of national and international indexed articles published between 2019 and 2024 related to Self-Regulated Learning and creative thinking skills. The findings indicate that Self-Regulated Learning has a consistently positive influence on creativity, particularly through metacognitive processes such as planning, strategy monitoring, and reflection. Results also highlight key supporting factors, including scaffolding, project-based learning, and digital learning environments, while barriers include limited instructional support and unsupportive learning conditions. The study concludes that integrating Self-Regulated Learning systematically into vocational aesthetic education is essential to enhance students’ creativity and recommends improving scaffolding practices and implementing project-based tasks as effective strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the empowerment processes and institutional strengthening of farmer groups (Gapoktan) in Lelamase Village, Rasanae Timur District, Bima City, through education, training, and farm management development programs. Using a qualitative case study approach, the research involved purposively and snowball-selected informants, including Gapoktan leaders, farmer group members, agricultural extension officers, and local government officials. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and document analysis, and were examined using the interactive Miles and Huberman model, with validity ensured through triangulation and member checking. The findings reveal that institutional strengthening through education and training is highly effective, particularly in improving managerial capacities, practical skills, and technical understanding of both group leaders and facilitators. Farm management development also operates optimally, reflected in improved economic scale, commercial orientation, cooperation with rural cooperatives (KUD), partnerships with relevant stakeholders, and enhanced analysis of local resource and market potential, as well as the diversification of supplementary economic activities. Overall, the synergy among extension services, government support, and farmer group initiatives has successfully enhanced institutional capacity, autonomy, professionalism, and the overall welfare of farmers. These results underscore that structured and continuous empowerment strategies significantly contribute to strengthening agricultural institutions at the local level.

Abstract

This research explores the representation of green mobility in electric vehicle advertisements from Wuling and Hyundai in Indonesia, utilizing a semiotic analysis based on Roland Barthes' theory. The study examines how denotative, connotative, and mythological elements in the advertisements contribute to shaping public perceptions of electric vehicles as symbols of sustainability and modern lifestyle. By analyzing visual and verbal signs, such as the use of green colors, futuristic designs, and slogans like “Drive for a Green Life” and “Power Up the Future,” the study reveals how electric vehicles are portrayed not only as eco-friendly alternatives but also as lifestyle choices for the urban class. The findings suggest that these advertisements construct electric vehicles as part of a broader narrative about social transformation and environmental consciousness. This research contributes to the understanding of how semiotic theory can be applied to product advertising, offering insights into the role of visual communication in promoting sustainable lifestyles.

Abstract

The study results show that situational leadership plays a crucial role in determining leadership strategies and styles appropriate to the teacher's level of preparedness and the school's organizational conditions of contingency theory provides an understanding that leadership effectiveness depends on the fit between leadership style and organizational situation. Both complement each other in creating organizational effectiveness, which is characterized by increased teacher performance, team collaboration, and the achievement of educational goals. Furthermore, adapting to curriculum changes requires adaptive, communicative, and visionary leadership to manage change, minimize resistance, and build a culture of innovation within the school environment. Therefore, integrating situational leadership and a contingency approach is an effective strategy for strengthening educational organizations' ability to navigate curriculum change. Thus, flexible and contextual educational leaders play a strategic role in creating resilient, responsive organizations oriented toward improving educational quality in the current era of educational transformation.

Abstract

The kafala system had long been the main mechanism for managing migrant workers in Saudi Arabia, but it was often criticized for creating excessive dependency between workers and employers, which led to exploitation. Kafala reform was an important step to improve the protection and welfare of Indonesian female migrant workers, especially because the majority were employed in the domestic sector that was highly vulnerable to violence, wage theft, and restricted mobility. In this context, the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia played a strategic role in ensuring the implementation of fairer policies for female migrant workers. This study aimed to analyze the impact of kafala reform on the protection of Indonesian female migrant workers and to evaluate the role of bilateral diplomacy in supporting the reform. A qualitative descriptive-analytical approach was applied, using document analysis of regulations, reports from international organizations, official BP2MI data, and media publications. The data were analyzed through thematic analysis, policy analysis, and source triangulation to increase the validity of the findings. The results showed that kafala reforms, including the abolition of exit permits, job mobility, and the introduction of digital contracts, had a positive impact on improving mobility and legal certainty for female migrant workers. However, weak supervision, cultural resistance from employers, and limited access to complaint mechanisms remained major obstacles. Bilateral diplomacy through Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) played an important role, but protection still focused on the formal sector. Therefore, this study recommended strengthening the implementation of reforms, expanding protection to the domestic sector, integrating inter-agency data, and enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation to ensure sustainable protection of Indonesian female migrant workers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of organizational justice and employee engagement on turnover intention through job satisfaction as a simple mediator at Muhammadiyah University of Mataram. Using a quantitative causal-comparative approach, data were collected from 94 contract lecturers selected through the Slovin formula. The questionnaire consisted of 20 items covering four variables: organizational justice, employee engagement, job satisfaction, and turnover intention, measured on a five-point Likert scale. Data were analyzed using the SmartPLS 4 software to test the measurement and structural models. The results indicate that organizational justice has no significant effect on job satisfaction (p = 0.444) and turnover intention (p = 0.229). Employee engagement has a significant negative effect on job satisfaction (p = 0.030) and a significant negative effect on turnover intention (p = 0.009). Meanwhile, job satisfaction does not have a significant effect on turnover intention (p = 0.966), and mediation testing shows that job satisfaction does not mediate the relationship between organizational justice or employee engagement and turnover intention. These findings suggest that employee engagement is the dominant factor influencing turnover intention, while organizational justice and job satisfaction play limited roles. The study recommends future research to include additional mediating variables such as organizational commitment or leadership support to provide a more comprehensive understanding of turnover determinants in educational institutions.
