Abstract

Juvenile delinquency shows an increasing trend from year to year. It needs serious concern and immediate treatment, securing the young generation. The research is aimed to 1) identify the factors causing juvenile delinquency in SMA Muhammadiyah Pakem Sleman and SMK Muhammadiyah Seyegan Sleman, and 2) describe the Islamic educational psychology perspective in the treatment of juvenile delinquency in SMA Muhammadiyah Pakem Sleman and SMK Muhammadiyah Seyegan Sleman. The research design is descriptive with a case study approach. The data were collected through interviews and field notes. Meanwhile, the data were analyzed through organization, coding, and concluding.

Abstract

The application of ice breaking techniques in learning practices has been widely used by teachers in schools. This article will, among other things, answer the questions: what is the teacher's ability and understanding of learning using the Ice Breaking technique; and what are the steps in enjoyable learning. The purpose of this article is to help teachers understand learning by utilizing the Ice Breaking technique; and assist teachers in mastering and implementing steps in enjoyable learning. This research uses a type of qualitative research based on field studies in the form of case studies, taking the object of study as the implementation of the independent curriculum in two schools. Qualitative descriptive research with data collection techniques used namely observation, interviews and documentation. The analytical methods used are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and verification. The results of this research show that the application of ice breaking in students' learning in elementary schools can have an effect on increasing students' learning concentration during a fun learning process that runs well and is quite effective.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk memahami, mendeskripsikan, serta mengkaji peran kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah dalam mewujudkan Merdeka Belajar di sekolah dasar. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan studi kepustakaan (library research) dengan melakukan penelaahan secara kritis beberapa sumber relevan dengan topik pembahasan, baik jurnal, buku, artikel, dan dokumen lain. Proses pengkajian data dilakukan melalui beberapa tahapan secara sistematis meliputi: pertama pengelompokan bahan kajian dengan rumusan masalah yang telah ditentukan, kedua analisis bahan kajian; ketiga simpulan berdasarkan hasil kajian dan interpretasi data. Berdasarkan hasil studi yang dilakukan mendapatkan hasil bahwa: Pertama, kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah memiliki peran strategis dalam optimalisasi implementasi kurikulum merdeka di sekolah dasar. Kedua, peran kepala sekolah juga krusial dalam merumuskan strategi dan menciptakan inovasi yang relevan dengan kebutuhan sekolah. Ketiga, faktor keberhasilan kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah dalam mengoptimalkan implementasi Merdeka Belajar di sekolah dasar sangat dipengaruhi oleh motivasi kerja guru. Dari data tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa Kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah memiliki peran strategis dalam mengoptimalkan implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka dan merumuskan strategi serta menciptakan inovasi yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan di sekolah dasar.

Abstract

The Primary School Leading Teacher is responsible for promoting student-centered learning, implementing innovation in learning, and improving teacher professionalism through learning communities and collaboration. This article aims to explore the role of leading teachers in enhancing the quality of learning in primary schools., including the strategies used and the problems faced when implementing them. The method in this study uses a qualitative approach, while the data sources are taken through interviews with three Leading Teachers, and school documents. Data validity testing was carried out through focus group discussions. The results of the analysis show that leading teachers play an important role in creating a more dynamic learning environment and helping students achieve their best potential. However, problems such as limited resources and disagreement from other teachers still hinder the implementation of this program. Therefore, more comprehensive support is needed to maximize the role of Leading Teachers in improving the quality of education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the extent of parental contribution to student affairs programs at SMP Negeri 1 Tirtomoyo. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive method to comprehensively illustrate the level of parental contribution in student affairs management. Data were collected through interviews with the school principal, vice principal in charge of student affairs, homeroom teachers, and representatives of students' parents, along with observations of student affairs activities and document analysis. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and verification to derive accurate conclusions. The validity of the data was ensured through source and technical triangulation. The findings indicate that parental contribution covers five main aspects: 1) Enhancing students' knowledge and motivation, 2) Developing human resources, 3) Increasing social awareness, 4) Encouraging students' interests and talents, and 5) Supporting students' achievements. Parents actively participate in motivating their children, supporting extracurricular activities, and contributing to school funding and promotion through social media. The high level of parental contribution positively affects students' academic performance and the school's reputation, ultimately leading to an increase in student enrollment during the PPDB (new student admission process).

Abstract

Good quality education will have a positive impact on the development of individuals and society as a whole. However, to achieve the desired quality of education, an effective system is needed in managing educational information. One system that can play an important role in improving the quality of education is the Management Information System. This study aims to examine the role of information systems in improving the quality of education, especially in these primary schools. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation and interviews with teachers. The results showed that information technology management has seven main roles in supporting the improvement of education quality, namely information system integration, improving teacher performance, administrative support, developing digital competencies, and improving teaching quality. The implementation of information systems in schools helps teachers in managing administrative tasks, providing more interactive learning resources and improving the effectiveness of communication between teachers, students and parents. The conclusion of this study confirms that a well-implemented management information system can contribute to improving the overall quality of education.

Abstract

Teacher work motivation is a major factor in the success of the learning process. Therefore, the success of an education will not be separated from the role of the principal's leadership, the principal's leadership is very important because the principal has a role in developing and achieving school goals. This study aims to determine the Leadership of Elementary School Principals in Ngamprah District, West Bandung Regency. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach, namely careful carving of certain social phenomena. The results of interviews in the field with the Principal and teachers in improving teacher Work Motivation. The first is the Principal's Leadership by looking at how the leadership and communication styles in the school, the principal's support, Appreciation and work environment. In order to improve teacher work motivation, effective communication steps are taken, opening communication between teachers, innovation in facilities and infrastructure that can support students and teachers in carrying out teaching and learning activities and creating a comfortable work environment. The influence of Principal Leadership in improving teacher work motivation can be established well because of Cooperation, a sense of belonging, togetherness between the principal, teachers, students and parents and the desire to be able to continue to progress and grow together.

Abstract

School culture is crucial in creating a supportive work environment, which directly affects teacher motivation. Teacher motivation, as a key element in the education system, has a significant impact on the effectiveness of teaching and the quality of student learning outcomes. This study analyzes how indicators of organizational culture in schools, such as innovation, attention to detail, outcome orientation, individual orientation, and team orientation, affect teacher motivation. Using a qualitative approach through case studies, data were collected through semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions. The results showed that a culture that encourages innovation and measured risk-taking has a positive impact on teacher motivation. A culture that emphasizes attention to detail encourages a focus on teaching quality. In addition, a result-oriented culture motivates teachers by aligning their efforts with clear achievement goals. The study also revealed that a culture that supports individual development and professional growth significantly increases teacher motivation. Another important factor is effective leadership, which plays a vital role in fostering a positive and collaborative work atmosphere.

Abstract

Kemandirian merupakan salah satu dari delapan dimensi profil lulusan dalam sistem pendidikan nasional Indonesia yang menjadi kunci dalam membentuk generasi yang mampu menghadapi tantangan zaman dengan percaya diri dan bertanggung jawab. Namun, realitas di lapangan menunjukkan sebagian sekolah berasrama justru menciptakan ketergantungan tinggi siswa terhadap pengawasan pengasuh, sehingga siswa menjadi pasif dan tidak mampu mengambil keputusan mandiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi strategi efektif dalam membangun budaya kemandirian siswa di sekolah berasrama. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus di SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Gemuh (MBS), melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipatif, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian mengidentifikasi lima strategi utama: habituasi terstruktur, program life skills terpadu, sistem pengawasan bertingkat, pendampingan individual, dan pengembangan kepemimpinan, masing – masing komponen strategis tersebut saling bersinergis menciptakan pendekatan komprehensif. Urgensi penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi praktis bagi institusi pendidikan sekolah berasrama dalam mengembangkan budaya kemandirian siswa melalui pendekatan sistematis dan terintegrasi untuk menghasilkan lulusan yang mandiri, berkarakter kuat, dan mampu beradaptasi dengan lingkungan yang menuntut kemandirian tinggi.

Abstract

This research explores the implementation of the talent class model at SMP Muhammadiyah Plus Gunungpring to foster student creativity. The talent class program, integrated into the school curriculum for the past four years, offers various classes in arts, sports, science and technology, languages, and life skills, catering to diverse student interests. The program involves all 7th and 8th-grade students, with classes held every Saturday for 2 hours. The selection process includes student class choices, assessments by instructors, and guidance from school counselors. The study utilizes a qualitative case study approach, employing in-depth interviews with teachers, students, and the principal, along with classroom observations and document analysis. Findings reveal that the talent class model implementation aligns with student-centered and project-based learning principles. Teachers act as facilitators, providing students the autonomy to explore and develop their talents, fostering a positive learning environment. Students actively participate in discussions, projects, and collaborative activities, demonstrating enthusiasm and a perception of increased creativity. The study identifies supporting factors such as school commitment, dedicated teachers, and student engagement, along with challenges like limited resources and parental involvement. The research concludes that the talent class model effectively fosters student creativity and provides recommendations for program enhancement.
