Abstract

The ability to produce scientific papers is one of the competencies that must be mastered by students in the academic world in higher education. Citation and plagiarism have a close relationship because, including reference sources through correct citation, it can prevent the author from committing plagiarism and show integrity in meeting ethical standards in writing scientific papers. Currently, many applications offer various features to facilitate students in managing references and avoiding plagiarism, including Mendeley and Turnitin. This community service activity is carried out in the form of training to provide real assistance to students to produce quality scientific papers through proper reference management and without being trapped in plagiarism. The training activities were divided into three sessions, the first session was the presentation of material by the resource person, in the second session each participant did the practice and the last session was the evaluation of the activity by giving practical assignments to determine the knowledge and skills of the training participants in using Mendeley and Turnitin in writing scientific papers. All students who participated as participants showed high interest and enthusiasm in participating in each session of the training activities. In addition, the results of the activity evaluation also showed an increase in the knowledge and ability of the trainees in making citations in scientific papers using Mendeley and checking the level of plagiarism of scientific papers using Turnitin.

Abstract

Indonesia is ranked third with the most significant number of pulmonary TB (Tuberculosis) patients in the world, after China and India. In 2017, there were 420,994 new TB cases in Indonesia. The survey showed that 68.5% of male participants smoked, while only 3.7% of female participants smoked. This service activity aims to assist TB patients through the Zero TB application based on a community partnership system for TB prevention and treatment. The training effectively improved participants' knowledge, behavior, and compliance. There was a significant change in the level of expertise, where the pre-test results showed that 50% of respondents had low knowledge, but after counseling using the Zero TB application, 83.4% had high knowledge. Behavioral changes also improved, with 53.3% of respondents showing good changes in the pre-test, which increased to 100% after the intervention. The level of treatment adherence also increased from 93.3% of respondents with low adherence in the pre-test to 96.6% with high adherence in the post-test. It is hoped that participants' increased knowledge, behavior, and adherence can prevent TB while raising public awareness of the importance of TB treatment, especially at Yayasan Bhanu Yasa Sejahtera (YABHYSA).

Abstract

One of the developmental tasks of elementary school students is to be able to care for their sexual and mental health. The empirical problem faced by students at SD Negeri Mergosono 03 is that elementary school students do not yet have an understanding of sexual health, plus the challenge of adapting to body changes due to puberty and other sexuality problems. Mergosono 03 Public Elementary School students also have the problem of low self-love, characterized by feelings of inferiority, and difficulty accepting their strengths and limitations. Sexuality and mental health education related to self-love is still not found in this school. Partners also need this education. Therefore, the proposer developed the LANSCAPE SELF LOVE program: Sexuality education and self-love education for elementary school students through e-comics to address partners' problems and needs. This program is carried out through 4 stages: e-comic development, sexuality education, self-love education, and the dynamics of self-analysis related to self-strengths and limitations. This community service can increase students' understanding of sexuality and mental health.

Abstract

Currently, the number of global HIV cases has reached 37.7 million people, and around 680,000 to 1 million people die every year due to HIV/AIDS. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, currently, HIV cases continue to increase from year to year; new findings are estimated to reach 7,650 people, compared to 7,036 people in the previous year. The high number of HIV cases in Indonesia is caused by several methods of massive transmission that are less controlled, including through heterosexuals (51.5%). This study aims to empower gay and Transgender Communities Through Health Promotion Models and Hydroponic Plant Cultivation—methods for implementing activities, in the form of lectures, discussions, and practice. The training, which was held for 2 days, effectively increased participants' knowledge and changed attitudes. Evidenced by significant changes in knowledge levels, the results of the pretest knowledge were high at 26.5%, then after the post-test, knowledge increased to 91.2%. Meanwhile, the pretest results for respondents' good attitude were 15%, and after the post-test, good attitude increased significantly to 100%. Thus, it is hoped that with the knowledge and changes in attitudes of the participants, it can prevent and reduce the number of HIV cases in the gay and transgender community in the Pacar Kembang sub-district, Surabaya.

Abstract

Renewable energy, particularly Solar Power Plants (PLTS), holds significant potential to enhance sustainability and efficiency in modern agriculture, including for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) utilizing hydroponic technology. This Community Partnership Program (PKM) aims to implement a PLTS system to improve the productivity and sustainability of hydroponic cultivation at Rumah Bali Hydroponic SME. The methods employed include installing a PLTS system to meet energy demands in hydroponic farming processes and providing technical training for SME partners on managing and utilizing solar energy. Evaluations were conducted to measure energy efficiency, impacts on plant productivity, and contributions to reducing operational costs. The results demonstrated that the PLTS system reduced dependency on conventional energy sources, decreased operational costs by 15%, and increased hydroponic crop productivity by 18%. Additionally, training sessions significantly enhanced participants' understanding of solar energy technology, with a 90% improvement in technical comprehension. The positive impact on carbon emission reduction further supports environmentally friendly agriculture. In conclusion, applying PLTS in hydroponic farming at Rumah Bali Hydroponic SME improved energy efficiency, productivity, and business sustainability. This program provides economic benefits and promotes sustainable agriculture, serving as a model for empowerment initiatives applicable to Indonesia's agricultural sector.
