Abstract

Problem-solving is an activity that can support knowledge construction. Polya, Mason, and Schoenfeld see the problem-solving process as an activity carried out in an individual context. A person's activities cannot be separated from individual interactions. Collaborative Problem-Solving (CPS) is a situation where students must use problem-solving and communication skills in group work to solve a problem. This research examines the stages of collaborative problem-solving in case studies of geometric problem-solving. This research is a case study type with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were class X high school students. The research instruments used were collaborative plane geometry problem-solving questions and interview guidelines. The data collection method was carried out by providing collaborative problem-solving tasks and interviews. The recording was carried out during the assignment using an audio recorder to see the collaborative mathematical problem-solving phase. The research results show that problem-solving starts with discussing, conjecturing, building solutions, communicating reasoning, and extending. The problem-solving phase is cyclical at certain stages, namely discuss – conjecture – build solution – discuss. Meanwhile, critique merges the discussion, conjecture, solution-building, and communication reasoning stages. The finding of the CPS phase in this research is that it has cyclical stages. It combines the critique stages in each CPS phase and can be considered if different CPS phases are documented. Apart from that, it can be a consideration for students that the problem-solving stages in collaboration are more flexible.

Abstract

The curriculum is a guideline for implementing education. Indonesia has experienced 11 curriculum changes. This study uses bibliometric analysis to examine the trends and characteristics of curriculum development in Indonesia. This bibliometric analysis method is carried out by collecting articles in the Dimensions database, which are processed using VOSviewer. The number of articles collected was 431, which were then filtered into 426 articles. This bibliometric analysis uses two approaches: performance analysis (journals, publication institutions, and educational organizations) and science mapping (citations, co-citations, bibliographic merging, and keywords). The results found that the number of curriculum development publications in Indonesia from 2014 to 2024 tended to increase. Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Universitas Negeri Padang, and Universitas Sebelas Maret have the highest publications on curriculum development. The keyword Development gets the highest occurrence value of 94. 2020 is the year with many keywords appearing, namely 24 keywords. This research is expected to encourage and increase innovation in curriculum development research in Indonesia

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to ascertain the efficacy of certified high school teachers' work in Bengkulu City, as well as the elements that promote and hinder their performance at these institutions. This study employs a qualitative methodology. Data collection methods include observation, documentation, and interviews. The principal, a class teacher, a religion teacher, a sports teacher, and two students were the study's subjects. The findings demonstrated that the qualified instructors' performance in the school cannot be deemed effective and still need improvement. Furthermore, this study found that while the inhibiting factors included inadequate infrastructure and facilities for learning and the incapacity of certified teachers to become proficient in technology, the supporting factors included a welcoming learning environment, strong principal support, and certification allowances.

Abstract

According to Bass and Avolio, there are four dimensions of transformational leadership. These dimensions include idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. The application of the transformational leadership dimension in the setting of Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia can help improve the quality of education and student character building in a holistic way. This systematic library review research focuses on trends in topics, research objects, and types of transformational leadership dimensions reviewed in scientific papers published in 2019–2024. The study aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the application of the transformational leadership dimension to Islamic education in Indonesia over the past five years. Topics that associate quality education with the application of transformational leadership dimensions are most widely reviewed in scientific papers published in 2019–2024. The next finding is research related to the application of transformational leadership dimensions more effectively in the setting of MTs (junior high school). Idealized influence is the type of transformational leadership dimension most mentioned in the article on the implementation of the transformational leadership dimension in 2019–2024. Further researchers can undertake further studies on the implementation of the transformational leadership dimension on other related topics, setting up different institutions, and deeper exploration of the types of transformative leadership dimensions that can affect the performance of Islamic educational institutions as a whole.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology and increasing global interconnectedness have significantly transformed the landscape of education, posing new challenges for Islamic education to remain pedagogically relevant, epistemologically grounded, and socially transformative. In response to these challenges, this article aims to examine strategic approaches within Islamic education for integrating three essential pillars—faith, general knowledge, and 21st-century skills—into a relevant and responsive curriculum suited to the demands of the digital era. This study employs a qualitative theoretical analysis to examine curriculum integration strategies in Islamic education, using Constructivist Learning Theory and Integrated Curriculum Theory as analytical frameworks. These conceptual frameworks provide the basis for exploring how educational practices can move beyond fragmented content delivery toward cohesive and value-driven learning experiences. The study reveals that the digital age presents both challenges and opportunities for Islamic education. While it demands adaptability and technological fluency, it also provides a platform to reaffirm the ethical and spiritual dimensions of learning. In this context, strategies such as experiential learning, problem-based inquiry, and project-based instruction are essential for cultivating critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and contextual awareness among students. The findings suggest that integrating faith and knowledge empowers learners not only to attain academic excellence but also to internalize moral and spiritual values that guide behavior and decision making. A curriculum that is holistic, contextually relevant, and transformative is thus imperative in preparing a generation of Muslims who are not only intellectually competent but also spiritually resilient and socially responsible in navigating the complexities of modern life

Abstract

This study aims to examine in depth the integration of religious moderation values in social science education at Madrasah Tsanawiyah in West Sumatra Province, utilizing a mixed-methods approach that combines qualitative and quantitative methodologies to gain a comprehensive understanding of the application of these values. The research sample consisted of 10 Madrasah Tsanawiyah, purposively selected to reflect geographical variations and institutional characteristics. The qualitative approach was employed to explore the perceptions of teachers, principals, and students regarding the implementation of religious moderation through in-depth interviews and classroom observations. Meanwhile, the quantitative approach involved distributing questionnaires to students to measure their understanding of the concept of religious moderation and the effectiveness of its application in learning. The results indicate that the values of religious moderation have begun to be integrated into the social science learning process, although various challenges persist. These challenges include inadequate training for teachers and a lack of curriculum guidelines that explicitly direct the application of religious moderation in teaching. The integration of the findings from both qualitative and quantitative analyses suggests that, while efforts to integrate the values of religious moderation have commenced positively, further support is necessary, particularly in the form of institutional frameworks and resources to enhance teacher training and develop comprehensive curriculum guidelines.

Abstract

The moral crisis in education has become a challenge for educators, society, and parents. This article discusses the research findings on students’ moral crises by analyzing articles related to morality in the Journal of Islamic Education in Indonesia. This research employs a qualitative approach using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method in six stages: formulation of research questions, search for data, inclusion and exclusion criteria, quality assessment, data collection, and analysis. The primary data in this study consist of articles published in the Science and Technology Index (SINTA) from 2021 to 2024, focusing on morality. These articles are written in either Indonesian or English. Relevant articles as primary data were found on the Garuda Kemendikbud website. Secondary data refers to data gathered from other relevant literature, such as books, theses, and documentation. According to the study results, over the past four years, the number of publications focused on morality has increased. Among these publications, the most common research approach is quantitative, with the research subjects primarily at the Senior High School level. The moral crisis among students is influenced by media, technology, and the family environment. Exposure to inappropriate content and destructive values from social media weakens students’ morals, while disharmony in the family has a negative impact on character development.
