Abstract

The Birth Planning and Complications Prevention Program or Program Perencanaan Persalinan dan Pencegahan Komplikasi (P4K) is an effort by the government to reduce the maternal mortality rate in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine the implementation of P4K to reduce maternal mortality in the catchment area of Waihaong Health Center Ambon in 2020. This was a qualitative study with a case study approach. Data collection was conducted in February-May 2020 in the catchment area of Waihaong Health Center. There were 13 informants interviewed in this study (nine pregnant women, two health workers, and two cadres). Data analysis was conducted using content analysis by identifying the emerging themes based on the research objectives. The results of this study show that the implementation of P4K has been running, but it has yet to be maximized because several P4K components still need to be completed. The pregnant woman prepares the components in the P4K sticker without any discussion with the midwife, and some pregnant women still choose to give birth with the help of a traditional birth attendant or “mama biang”. The mother's need for more knowledge about P4K and the lack of human resources as a program administrator was an obstacle to implementing this program. This study indicates that there is still a need for counseling for pregnant women to increase knowledge and awareness of the benefits of P4K and to carry out further training and collaboration between midwives and village cadres to improve P4K implementation.

Abstract

Stunting is the root of the problem that affects human growth and development. This problem starts from the growth of the fetus until the first 1000 days of life. If not addressed, it will have long-term impacts. This article aimed to determine the impact of a history of stunting on adults. This research method uses a literature review. Article searches using the Taylor and Francis, Science Direct, and Springer Link databases. Seven articles met the inclusion criteria. The research results showed that 28.5% of the articles were researched in developed countries and 71.5% in developing countries. However, there are no research articles from Indonesia. Researchers found the impact of a history of stunting on adults, including 87.5% of articles describing physiological consequences, 66.7% of all articles mentioning cognitive obstacles, and 57.1% of all articles evidencing psychosocial problems. In conclusion, the impact of a history of stunting on adults is confirmed and a polemic that must be addressed immediately. If left untreated, this will continue to happen, becoming a scary cycle and reducing the quality of human resources.

Abstract

Regulation Minister of Health Republic Indonesia Number 15 of 2022 through 6 pillars of health transformation, one of which is primary service, namely medication adherence education. Ministry of Health Republic Indonesia, (2020) the 2020-2024 RPJMN policy directions and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) regarding six diseases, one is Tuberculosis (TBC). TBC prevalence in Southeast Asia (44%), Indonesia (8.5%), Lampung (40.2%), and South Lampung (41%). Indonesia's strategy to reduce the incidence of TBC has six plans: the 2020-2024 national tuberculosis program, optimizing promotion and prevention efforts, providing tuberculosis prevention treatment, and controlling. TBC treatment 6-24 months resulted in drop-out treatment. Nurses play a supervisory role and carry out counseling to increase patient adherence. The Schedule For Undrop-Out Program (SRAGAM) is a media innovation to improve patient medication adherence. SRAGAM makes it easier for patients, PMOs, and health workers to arrange medication-taking schedules. The purpose is to determine the effect of SRAGAM on increasing patient adherence. Research is a quantitative one-group pretest-posttest with a control group preexperimental design. Respondents were patients who were taking drugs. The number of samples was 32 respondents (16 intervention:16 control). The research was from December 2022 to May 2023 in Hajimena Health Center, South Lampung. Data analysis using t-test. The results of the study mean value intervention group (5.6875) and control group (4.1250). The P-value of 0.000 concluded that SRAGAM effectively increased the number of patients taking medication. The results will become educational media in preventing the incidence of dropping medication in patients.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Hypothermia is a dangerous condition where the body temperature drops drastically (<36°C). If not promptly addressed, it can be life-threatening, with a mortality rate of approximately 21% for moderate hypothermia and 40% for severe hypothermia. This literature review aims to identify the most effective preventive measures to be implemented in the operating room to prevent perioperative hypothermia. This study utilized a literature review method, analyzing articles from two databases, PubMed and Science Direct. After applying relevant keywords, a total of 401 articles were obtained. These articles were then identified, screened, and examined for eligibility, resulting in 12 included articles. Nine articles reported that warm intravenous fluids, warm irrigation fluids, electric warming blankets, warming mattresses, and operating room temperature modifications were significantly beneficial in preventing perioperative hypothermia. In comparison, two articles found no significant benefit in prevention. There needs to be a consensus among the reviewed articles regarding the most effective preventive measures for perioperative hypothermia. Additionally, none of the articles examined the combined use of all three interventions to prevent hypothermia in perioperative patients.

Abstract

Hypertension can be triggered by a secondary cause, namely the use of hormonal contraceptives. Hormonal contraceptives contain the hormones estrogen and progesterone, resulting in a hormonal imbalance that leads to hypertension. This research aims to know the relationship between the duration of use and the type of hormonal contraceptives that can be associated with the incidence of hypertension. In Indonesia, the most common use of contraception is hormonal contraception (85.7%), including 139,342 injections (56.8%), 64,569 pills (26.3%), and 14,901 implants (6%). It is known that 216 out of 766 (28.19%) women of childbearing age who use hormonal contraceptives in the Telaga Dewa Health Center working area suffer from hypertension. Cross-sectional research design with a sample of 369 women of childbearing age. The type of hormonal contraception used, age, and blood pressure were obtained by secondary means from the midwife's register book. At the same time, primary door-to-door accepted length of use, education, employment, and number of children. It was found that the size of the use of hormonal contraceptives >5 years significantly related to the incidence of hypertension (p-value 0.000) with OR 2.685. The result will show how the relation of duration use and type of hormonal contraceptives can be associated with the incidence of hypertension. However, all types of hormonal contraceptives were not significantly related to the incidence of hypertension (p-value 0.223). The conclusion of the research is that age, occupation, education, parity, and use of hormonal contraception can be causes of hypertension in women of childbearing age.
