Abstract

Problems arise when there are tax fees on groundwater use by hospitals. This will, of course, burden the hospital's operational costs. The solution to reducing groundwater use is the use of microfiltration membranes. Microfiltration membranes can be used to recycle wastewater into clean water so that it can be collected and used for cleaning, washing, and watering gardens. They can reduce groundwater taxes and hospital groundwater use. The research objectives are to know the efficiency of reducing wastewater recycling equipment from the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) outlet using a microfiltration membrane. The research methodology used was a quasi-experiment in laboratories and workshops, with a pre-test (before treatment) and post-test (after treatment) design. Stage one Microfiltration Membrane is a medium for processing wastewater into clean water in the first stage. Stage two, Microfiltration Membrane, is a medium for processing wastewater into clean water. In the second stage, it ensures that clean water quality is met. The results that the efficiency of reducing the wastewater recycling equipment from the WWTP outlet using  Microfiltration Membrane for pH 7%, Temperature 6%, Turbidity 64%, Colour 85%, Dissolved Solids (TDS) 40%, Nitrate 70%, Nitrite 94%, dissolved Iron (Fe) 33%, Manganese  60%, Cadmium 50%, Lead  43%, Fluoride 46%, Cyanide 96%, Hardness (CaCO3) 11%. In conclusion, all the parameters studied experienced a decrease in concentration. This research suggests conducting further research to reduce the current research discharge so that the parameter reduction can be more significant.

Abstract

Hospitals, as a source of transmission and spread of bacteria carrying antibiotic-resistant genes (ARGs) as well as a high source of antibiotic compounds, are a significant reservoir of antibiotic-resistant gene transfer that causes bacteria to develop multidrug resistance (MDR). Klebsiella pneumonia is a bacterium often found in wastewater with a high level of Extended Spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL) and carbapenemase resistance. This study aimed to determine Klebsiella pneumonia and resistance genes encoding ESBL and carbapenemase in hospital wastewater to obtain primary Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) data in the environment, which was first conducted in Indonesia. The resistance gene detection method was developed using High Throughput Real-Time and conventional Real-Time (HT-RT PCR). The data obtained were relative abundance and copy number. The results showed that blaTEM and blaNDM were the highest ARGs. Conventional Real-Time PCR results showed better sensitivity in detecting K. pneumoniae and ARGs than HT-RT PCR. The detection of K. pneumoniae and ARGs in RSCM wastewater in Indonesia indicates the need to improve the handling of RSCM WWTP to monitor the number of microbial resistances to antibiotics.

Abstract

52.8% of all Indonesian children, or those between the ages of 6 and 23 months, do not obtain the nourishment they require throughout the first two years of life in order to grow and develop as they should. One of Lampung province's areas, Tulang Bawang Regency, has the highest rate of children under five who are very thin (BB/TB), at 7.7%. The purpose of the research was to determine the important element in supplemental feeding of babies and toddlers in Tulang Bawang Regency in 2021. Analytic correlation using a cross-sectional design characterized this sort of study. A sample of 132 women who have children between the ages of 6 and 24 months was acquired by sampling utilizing stratified random sampling. Chi Square analysis in bivariate form and Logistics Regression Analysis in multivariate form. According to statistical analyses, complementary feeding behavior is significantly influenced by a number of internal and external factors, including type of food, frequency of feeding, amount of feeding, and community culture, as well as internal factors like age of knowledge of food, child's activities, and child's health history. Babies and toddlers at the Banjar Baru Community Health Center in the Tulang Bawang Regency in 2021 (p = 0.05). Based on the OR values of these factors, Child Health (OR=8,449) is the most important factor in providing complementary feeding to babies and toddlers in the Banjar Baru Health Center region of the Tulang Bawang Regency in 2021. For families with young children, there is a need for socialization over how to feed newborns and toddlers complementary feeding that are healthy and appropriate, as well as to revive the role of the posyandu in neighborhood events.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic is a global challenge with significant impacts in various countries, including Indonesia. This study investigates the quality of life of Covid-19 survivors in the Medan Sunggal Sub-district, considering age, gender, education, employment status, and disease duration. Descriptive research was conducted from March to June 2023, involving 146 respondents aged 16-55 who had survived for one year. The snowball sampling method was applied, and data were collected using the SF-36 questionnaire. Results showed that early adulthood and female age groups tended to have better quality of life. Higher education was also positively correlated with quality of life. The implications of these findings support the development of specific recovery and support programs for Covid-19 survivors, especially those experiencing prolonged symptoms. With a better understanding of the factors that influence the quality of life of Covid-19 survivors, recommendations include developing rehabilitation and support programs tailored to individual characteristics. These efforts are expected to support optimal recovery and contribution to the response to the pandemic in Medan Sunggal Sub-district.

Abstract

The prevalence of stunting still varies between districts, even though it shows a decreasing trend nationally. Variations in the correlation of specific determinants are characteristic of each region that must be considered when designing stunting control strategies, considering the significant future impacts. The study aims to identify specific determinants of stunting among toddlers between districts in Lampung Province. With an ecological design, the study uses aggregate data from the Indonesian Nutrition Status Study Report 2022 and Welfare Statistics of Lampung Province 2022. The analysis was carried out in stages with the Moran's Index and Local Moran's Index (LISA), using ArcMap and GeoDa software. Based on the analysis results, there are three districts with stunting prevalence above the national average and ten districts above the provincial average. Comparison year over year (YoY) shows that the two districts have increased from low to high or very high. We also found six variables specifically correlated with the prevalence of stunting: access to safe drinking water and sanitation, poverty, birth attendant, age at pregnancy, and length of breastfeeding. Increasing and improving specific determinants is an essential step in designing control strategies.

Abstract

During the recovery period, the post-partum mother will experience psychological changes proposed by several theories, which divide the period of psychological adjustment for the post-partum mother through three phases: taking in, taking hold, and letting go. The moms' emotional, intellectual, and behavioral disorders are triggered by their awareness of their guilt. Mothers must adjust to their new positions as they deal with new families with babies. Inadequately adapting to the post-partum period, mothers should get support from the family. This study aimed to determine the relationship between family support and the process of psychological adaptation (letting go) in primiparous post-partum mothers. This study sampled 33 primiparous post-partum mothers using a proportional random sampling technique. These involved primiparous post-partum mothers who lived with their families for 10-42 days and were willing to be respondents. The research used a questionnaire to analyze data. Data analysis using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov showed a p-value of 0.047 (p-value≤0.05). The results suggest that there is a relationship between family support and the process of psychological adaptation. Improving early screening for post-partum depression and increasing understanding of mothers and families can help reduce baby blues syndrome and post-partum depression in post-partum mothers.
