Abstract

  Abstract: This study background the problem low average yield learning Indonesian annually on national exams. In addition, many students who didn’t pass this final exam each year and didn’t want to follow the remedial activities for students who are not yet complete, so it will affect the learning outcomes achieved. Therefore, the need to do an analysis of students’ attitudes and motivation toward learning outcomes. Sample of the research were 78 students. Subject of this study were obtained by using proportional sample. Data on attitudes and motivation to learn is by using a questionnaire valid as level and reliability, while Indonesian learning outcomes is rapor. Analysis of data using simple correlation technique, partial correlation, and regression with correlation Product Moment. The results showed that (1) there is a positive and significant relationship between the attitude of learning with Indonesian learning outcomes, (2) there is a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation outcomes Indonesian language, and (3) there is a positive and significant relationship together attitude and motivation to learn with Indonesian learning outcomes.   Kata kunci: sikap, motivasi belajar, hasil belajar bahasa Indonesia

Abstract

Abstract: The pourpuse this study were to describe the values of education character in the poem of people song ”senandung Maondu Pojo” in Kapur IX District Lima Puluh Kota Regency and to document the poem of people song ”senandung Maondu Pojo” as a study of oral literature.The research data was collected by qualitative data, were the poem of people song ”senandung Maondu Pojo”from three informans, helped by instrument like recording tool (audio and audiovisual), nothing sheet, and interview guidance. The result of this study is five values of education character in the poem of people song ”senandung Maondu Pojo” there are believe and obedince, honesty, smart, strong, and care. Kata kunci: nilai pendidikan karakter, syair nyanyian rakyat,  senandung Maondu Pojo.

Abstract

Abstract: This study was conducted to explain (a) the difference in narrative essay writing skills of students who are taught using cooperative learning model CIRC with Jigsaw (b) differences in the ability to write narrative essays highly motivated students who are learning with cooperative learning model CIRC with Jigsaw; (c) differences in the ability to write narrative essays low motivated students who are learning to cooperative learning model CIRC with Jigsaw; and (d) the interaction between the use of models in the study of learning and motivation affect the ability of students to write a narrative essay. This study was a quasi-experimental (quasi-experiment) using a 2x2 factorial design. Population of 250 people, the study sample is taken by means of random sampling and obtained class VII / 2 as an experimental class I and class VII / 1 as the experimental class II, each consisting of 30 and 32 students. Data were collected by two instruments, namely motivation questionnaire and performance test writing narrative essays. Analyzing and discussion of the data is done by descriptive-analytical. Based on the results of data analysis, we can conclude the following four things. First, there are no significant differences in narrative essay writing skills of students who are taught using cooperative learning model CIRC with Jigsaw. Secondly, there is no significant difference in the ability to write narrative kararangan highly motivated students who are learning with cooperative learning model CIRC and Jigsaw. Third, there is no significant difference in the ability to write narrative kararangan low motivated students who are learning to cooperative learning model CIRC and Jigsaw. Fourth, there is no interaction between the model of learning with learning motivation in influencing the ability to write narrative essays seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 28 Padang. The use of models and Jigsaw cooperative CIRC can enhance students' ability to write a narrative essay, motivated either high or low. Keywords: narrative essay, CIRC, Jigsaw, motivation

Abstract

Abstract: This researce was aim to enhance students' writing skills summary. The writing ability of student still remain concerned under the circumstance, this fact due to student not trained well, low self esteem, low actualization to reveal their though and also the method of teaching is not appropriate with the purpose of study, that make student lack of motivation for writing. This researce was use description approach method with describe the process of improving writing skills through a summary of jigsaw cooperative learning model. The subjects were students of grade VIII 7 SMP 1 Batusangkar school year 2012/2013, amounting to 32 people. Data were obtained in the form of qualitative data collected through observation and field notes. Further quantitative data obtained through performance tests and questionnaire responses of students towards learning. From the data obtained a conclusion found that cooperative learning model jigsaw enhance the writing skills of student better. Moreover, cooperative learning model jigsaw application create the situation more interesting to student, make a student more comfortable, have some fun, due to this role model required student contribution and demand student more creative and dependable.     Kata kunci: keterampilan menulis ringkasan, model pembelajaran kooperatif, tipe jigsaw

Abstract

Abstract: This research is conducted base on background, that is, moral less of young generation until the generation should have characters. Novel of Ranah Tiga Warna by A. Fuadi describes human who have specific characteristics, such as character of education. The character is shown on speech, behavior, and story of narrator on the novel. This research tends to qualitative approach with content analysis method. The result of this study is five values of education character in the novel of Ranah Tiga Warna by A. Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by observations and interviews that have been doing research. The interview results indicate that dramatic play skills are still short of the standards expected. This phenomenon is thought to have something to do with the ability of appreciation of literature and creative thinking of students. Based journals and theory experts also stated that there is a contribution of literary appreciation ability and creative thinking skills to play the drama. Based on these problems, this study aimed to clarify whether or not the contribution of literary appreciation and the ability to think creatively, either separately or jointly to the drama students playing skills. Related to the problems and research objectives, methods used in this study is the correlation method. This correlation method aims to reveal the relationship between the variables under study. The study population was all students of class XII IPS SMAN 2 Rengat Indragiri Hulu in the academic year 2013/2014, amounting to 115 students and the study sample was 50 students by using probability sampling techniques. This research instrument in the form of objective tests, creativity tests verbal, and test performance. Data analysis was performed using the PPM correlation, multiple correlation test, t test, F test and regression test. To determine the contribution between the variables under study, used the formula coefficient of determination. The results showed that (1) there is a contribution to the literary appreciation ability to play drama skills in a positive and significant; (2) there is a contribution to the ability of creative thinking skills play a positive and significant drama; (3) the contribution of literary appreciation and the ability to think creatively together to role-play skills in a positive and significant. Therefore, the higher the ability of appreciation of literature and creative thinking of students, the higher the drama playing skills.   Kata kunci: kemampuan apresiasi sastra, kemampuan berpikir kreatif, keterampilan bermain drama

Abstract

Abstract: This study was generated from the problem of students’ ability in writing news texts ini class VIII, SMPN 1 Panti. Some of the problem were (1) lack of the students’ response towards news writing teaching and learning process, (2) lack of teacher’s creativity in designing interesting news sriting learning model, (3) no appropriate creative techniques applied by the teacher which could train the students to develop their skill in writing news texts, and (4) lack of the students’ motivation in participating in teaching and learning process because of their lack of understanding in the elements of news. Thus, this study was aimed at escribing the effect of the students’ ability ini writing news texts in class VIII SMP N 1 Panti. This was a quantitative research with factorial 2x2 experimental design. The population was the students in class VIII SMPN 1 Panti. Sampling technique wa done by using random sampling and the data was collected through questionnaire and test. The result of the study revealed that cooperative learning model with STAD mind mapping type affected the students’ ability in writing news texts. Abstract

Abstract: The aims of this study to describe the process of improving the exposition essay writing skills and improving the exposition essay writing skill using cooperative learning model CIRC on class XI TKR 1 student of SMK Karya Padang Panjang. The type of this research is classroom action research that used a qualitative approach. This study arranged in two cycles, starting on February and ending on March 2014. Qualitative data were collected through observation, field notes, and questionnaires. Quantitative data obtained through performance tests and questionnaires. The result of this study find that the use of cooperative learning model CIRC is able to improve learning outcomes in writing exposition skill of the student. The increase can be seen in learning process and the result of writing exposition essay. Exposition essay writing test result of the first cycle with an average mark of 75 and the second cycle with an average value of 82. Based on the research, it can be concluded that: (1) the use of cooperative learning model CIRC can improve the learning process, both teachers and students activity, and (2) improving student learning outcomes in essay writing exposition.   Key Words: writing skills, exposition essay, cooperative learning model CIRC

Abstract

Abstract: Speech acts have an impact on student motivation and engagement in learning. Teachers use the speech act quite varied. However, speech acts are performed predominantly by the directive speech act. The purpose of this study was (1) to describe the form of directive speech acts teacher, (2) describe the politeness principle used in teacher directive speech act, (3) describe the context of the use of the principle of modesty in speech acts directive teachers, (4) describe the response of students to the directive speech acts on learning Indonesian teacher in Senior High School 15 Padang. The results of this study indicate that teachers perform direc0ive speech acts ordered by using the maxim of wisdom and maxims on the situation said the deal is not sensitive topics and classes in noisy circumstances. Student response consists of a positive response of the student in response to the type of speech act teacher told the maxim of wisdom in the context of the situation said the topic was not sensitive and conducive situation, and negative responses tend to be aimed at the teacher told directive speech acts that use the maxim of wisdom on the situation said topics insensitive and unconducive situation. That teachers perform speech acts sent using wisdom and maxims in the context of the situation said the deal was not a sensitive topic and the noisy atmosphere resulted in a directive speech act that has been done the teacher in the learning becomes mannered as impressed forcing students in learning.   Kata kunci: kesantunan, tindak tutur direktif, pembelajaran, SMA

Abstract

Abstract: This article aims to describe the development process of the module, validity, practicalities, and the effectiveness of CTL based learning module on the material to write short stories. This study was done to overcome the limitations of quality teaching materials in the process of learning to write short stories. This research studies the development of a 4D design that is the definition, design, development, and deployment. The subjects were students of class IX-1 SMP Negeri 2 Lembah Gumanti academic year 2013/2014, amounting to 32 people . Validity of the data obtained through the questionnaire module, the module practicalities questionnaire for teachers and students, observation of student activity sheets, and a performance test sheet to write short stories . The technique of data analysis is descriptive statistics to get a percentage of the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the learning module. The results showed that the learning module was valid in terms of content, language, presentation, and graphics. Practical in terms of ease of use and time spent. Effectively to achieve the learning objectives seen from the student activity and student learning outcomes in the form of test performance .   Kata kunci: modul pembelajaran, menulis cerpen, CTL.
