Abstract

Kota Surabaya merupakan salah satu kota di Indonesia yang termaju perkembangannya diberbagai bidang, seperti bidang perekonomian, pendidikan dan transportasi. Pembangunan kota yang pesat memberikan dampak positif dan negatif. Dampak positif berupa kemudahan, kelengkapan dan teknologi yang tinggi dari berbagai sarana prasarana transportasi, kesehatan, pendidikan, hiburan dan lain sebagainya yang mendukung kegiatan sehari-hari masyarakat Kota Surabaya. Adapun dampak negatif yang dirasakan adalah kualitas lingkungan hidup yang menurun, yang dapat menyebabkan gangguan kesehatan dan ketidaknyamanan bagi masyarakat. Metode penelitian menggunakan metode deskripitif kuantitatif. Penelitian ini menganalisa kebisingan akibat lalu lintas yang terjadi di kawasan permukiman sepanjang frontage road A.Yani Surabaya (Menanggal I, Jemur Gayungan I dan Jemur Wonosari Gang Masjid). Nilai tingkat kebisingan diperoleh dengan alat sound level meter dan dianalisa dengan rumus statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai tingkat kebisingan pada aktivitas siang hari (LS) di permukiman Menanggal I sebesar 79,96 dB(A), permukiman Jemur Gayungan I sebesar 80,28 dB(A) dan permukiman Jemur Wonosari gang Masjid sebesar 78,44 dB(A). Ketiganya telah melampaui baku mutu. Pengendalian kebisingan dengan penambahan barier tumbuhan/vegetasi di sumber kebisingan, permukiman dan sepanjang frontage road. Selain itu penggantian material dinding bangunan dengan kaca atau kombinasi kaca dan batu bata, karena kaca dapat mereduksi kebisingan hingga 20 dB

Abstract

Abu ketel dan ampas tebu memiliki perbedaan dalam stuktur fisiknya, oleh karena itu pengelolaan dan pemanfaatannya juga terbatas. Pada Pabrik Gula Kremboong kapasitas penggilingannya adalah 2700 ton/hari. Produksi gula yang cukup tinggi juga berdampak pada limbah pabrik yang dihasilkan. Limbah abu yang dihasilkan setiap harinya tidak kurang dari 115 kwintal. Plastik merupakan limbah yang akan terus menjadi permasalahan lingkungan apabila tidak tertangani secara baik. Paving block sering digunakan untuk jalan dengan perkerasan kelas ringan, trotoar, taman, dan penutup permukaan yang fungsinya masih mampu menyerap air di permukaan. Paving block banyak digunakan karena kemudahan dalam pemasangan dan perawatannya. Salah satu alternatif penanganan limbah padat yang dapat dilakukan adalah dengan memanfaatkan abu ketel menjadi campuran paving blok, dengan variasi menggunakan penambahan limbah plastik. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif eksperimen. Pengaruh penambahan limbah abu ketel dan limbah plastik terhadap kemampuan penyerapan air pada paving block cukup berpengaruh. Dan pada penyerapan air paving block menunjukkan variasi campuran 5% dan 7% dengan hasil dibawah 2%, ini memenuhi persyaratan mutu paving block sesuai SNI 03-0691, 1996.

Abstract

Fulfillment of water quality requirements is absolutely necessary to fulfill primary human needs, especially drinking water and clean water sources, both in quantity and quality. Study of the underground caverns found the fact that in terms of quantity of water availability in the reservoir is able to meet the needs of residents of the Rengel District, but qualitatively not yet known the water quality in the reservoir. The purpose of this study was to measure the water quality of underground caves in caves which include temperature, turbidity, TDS, DO and pH. The method used in this study is a qualitative method to measure the value of water quality. The research sample was taken with three repetitions for data validity. The sampling location is the underground cave system with a length of 1 km, sample points include dark zone 1, dark zone 2, dark zone 3, and dim zone. Measurements were taken in the laboratory. The results of the study showed that the average values for temperature, turbidity, TDS, DO and pH were 26.7; 1,9; 348.2; 1,6; and 7.1. The conclusion obtained from this study is that all indicators except DOs meet environmental quality standards set by the government.

Abstract

Goal 6 of the SDGs has a target for clean water and sanitation, by 2030 the UN has a target of providing universal access to sanitation. Safely managed sanitation can support the progress to supporting socioeconomic development and promoting equality. In developing countries, a majority of the general population does not have access to proper sanitation. Therefore, there are still many challenges faced for sanitation in developing country. Unmanaged sanitation has a negative impact to human health and the environment. In developing countries that has a lot of under developed and rural area, community-based sanitation program is one of the approach for educating and improving sanitation. This study has an objective to evaluate the current implementation of community-based sanitation programs in Indonesia. This study is a literature review that analyzed various sources in a systematical way to evaluate the implementation of community based sanitation programs in Indonesia. In conclusion, the implementation of community based sanitation programs yield a positive impact for the targeted community. The factors that has influence are community involvement, funding and enforcement of sanctions.

Abstract

Ujungberung market is one of traditional market in Bandung city having high business transaction and generates a significant solid waste to be managed properly. In order to establish a proper solid waste management, the reliable data on waste generation is crucially required. The paper aims to find the waste generation through performing waste sampling procedure based on Indonesian Standard for 8 days consecutively. There were total 566 stalls available in the market and 85 stalls were selected as respondents for sampling and questionnaire. The results showed that the highest and lowest average of waste quantity were generated by food stall (3.16 kg/day) and tuber stall (0.02 kg/day), respectively. Based on units that may affect the waste quantity, the average daily waste generations are follows: 0,464 kg/stall, 0,109 kg/m2 area of stall, 0,240 kg/employee, 0,047 kg/hour of stall operational. Although the waste composition generated from each stall may vary, the most dominant type of waste predicted to be generated in the market totally were plastic, organic, and paper, respectively. According to the field observation and the questionnaire, most of seller dispose of their waste using plastic bag to the nearest waste storage. The data of waste generation resulted from the study could be used to predict the generation for other traditional market for establishing a better planning of the waste management system.

Abstract

The behavior of people who depend on the Citarum River Watershed (DAS Citarum) in disposing of waste has a direct impact on the damage and pollution experienced by the Citarum River. Therefore, the Citarum Harum program by the government is expected to change the Citarum River Watershed (DAS Citarum) community more importantly in terms of waste management. The purpose of this study is to determine the factors that influence the behavioral intention of the Citarum watershed community to realize the Citarum Harum. This research was conducted by surveying through questionnaires to 170 respondents. After collecting data, the data then processed using Partial Least Square (PLS) method with SmartPLS 3.0 software. The results of this study indicate that the Perceived Behavioral Control (PBC), Incentive Measure (IM), and Personal Norm (PN) factors significantly influence the Behavioral Intention (BI) respectively amount 16.3%, 15.9%, and 19.1%. While the Knowledge Theory (ETK) and Environmental Practices Knowledge factors influence the Attitude Towards Behavior (ATT) to understand in actualize citarum harum program respectively amount 38.4% and 21.7%.

Abstract

Water resources in Manggarai Regency are mostly supplied from springs. One of the villages in Manggarai Regency that uses springs is Bangka Kenda Village. Bangka Kenda Village requires drinking water of 10.41 Liters/second. This need for water is the result of drinking water projections in Manggarai Regency in 2037. Pressure values obtained from the results of manual calculations range from 5.63 meters to 93.82 meters. While the simulation results using the EPANET program, the pressure value is at 5.69 meters up to 93.84. The value of the manual calculation pressure with EPANET is not much different so that the pipe diameter selection is appropriate according to plan. The selected pipe is HDPE. The selected pipe diameter is 1.5 "; 2 "; 3 "; 4 and 5 ", respectively. The pipe has a water pressure resistance of 12.5 bar.

Abstract

Tofu industry waste pollution is still a serious problem. The high burden of tofu industrial waste pollutants is still a major problem. besides, the unavailability of the budget for processing and the limitations of a cheap and efficient treatment system are factors supporting the pollution of tofu waste in the environment. This study examines the efficiency of reducing BOD5 and COD treated with constructed wetlands using water jasmine plants (Enchinodorus palaefolius). The system used is the wetland subsurface with continuous flow. The media used include sand and biochar with a residence time of 12 hours 18 hours. Whereas pH, temperature, and flow rate are conditioned as control variables. The greatest efficiency of BOD5 and COD occurs in reactors using biochar media and a residence time of 18 hours with an efficiency of BOD5 of 50.52% and COD of 55.02%.

Abstract

UIN Sunan Ampel is a campus with strategic location, because it is close to various public facility buildings, such as health facilities, offices and entertainment, as well as its presence near public transportation / traffic access which is quite high. This certainly has positive and negative impacts on the campus environment of UIN Sunan Ampel. The positive impact is in the form of ease mobilization for campus community, while one of the negative impacts is noise (noise pollution) caused by traffic around the campus, which can interfere when the teaching and learning process takes place. This research method is quantitative descriptive. Noise data obtained with a sound level meter at 12 sampling points. The data is analyzed by statistical methods and the results are compared with the noise quality standard based on the Decree of the Minister of Environment No. Kep - 48 / MENLH / 11/1996. Then a noise distribution map was made with the application of Surfer 11. The results showed that the value of the noise level at the UIN Sunan Ampel campus had exceeded the permitted quality standard. The noise distribution map shows that the highest noise value is shown in red with the noise level value ≥ 70 dbA. The risk due to noise that occurs at UIN Sunan Ampel campus has exceeded the limit is not conducive environmental condition, such as an impact on learning convenience. So that it is necessary to handle the noise, such as planting trees as a barrier of noise sources and designing a room that are added with soundproof material, that has sound absorbing properties.
