Abstract

Many students have difficulty in understanding the science material. It happens because teachers have not used innovative learning approaches. The aims of this research are 1) to analyze the implementation of science and technology learning on economic conditions in my area using an inquiry approach, and 2) to analyze the impact of science and science learning on economic conditions in my area using an inquiry approach. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The results of the study show that the implementation of science and science learning on economic conditions in my area using an inquiry approach was overall carried out well according to the activity stages and syntax. The impact of learning science and science material on economic conditions in my area using an inquiry approach is that it has a large positive impact on student development, namely: students can actively participate in the learning presented, can foster students' motivation and enthusiasm for learning, can increase students' understanding, and improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

With the growing development of the sharia banking industry, especially in Indonesia, it is important for Islamic boarding schools to introduce sharia banking practicum to students as part of Islamic education. The Ar-Risalah Islamic Boarding School Cariu Bogor introduces sharia banking practicum learning materials as part of its curriculum to help students develop their skills and character in Islamic financial management. This research aims to develop and implement sharia banking practicum learning materials in Life Skills education at the Ar-Risalah Cariu Islamic Boarding School, Bogor. The ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model development approach was used in this research. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis was carried out using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques. The research was conducted from January to July 2023. Research results. The sharia banking practicum learning materials developed includes sharia banking principles, sharia banking products, and procedures in sharia banking transactions. Students are also taught how to make financial plans and manage finances in an Islamic way. Research shows that sharia banking practicum learning materials have been successfully developed and implemented well in Life Skills education at the Ar-Risalah Cariu Bogor Islamic Boarding School.

Abstract

Improving educational practices to enhance student learning outcomes has been a central theme in academic research. This study aims at exploring the effectiveness of the 5E Learning Cycle model in improving geography learning outcomes among students. The research method employed was Classroom Action Research conducted at Muhammadiyah Ambon High School from January to May 2022, with a sample of randomly selected 11th-grade classes. The study's findings indicated that the 5E Learning Cycle model effectively enhanced student learning outcomes and engagement. Between Cycle I and Cycle II, learning mastery from cognitive assessments improved. Specifically, there was a 72.5% increase in Cycle I, which improved to 85.0% in Cycle II. Performance assessments showed a 75.0% improvement in Cycle I and an 87.5% in Cycle II. This research demonstrated effectiveness and concluded after Cycle II regarding applying the learning model, the learning process involving teacher and student activities, and student learning outcomes assessed across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains.

Abstract

The Case-Based Learning model is known as an effective method for developing contextual understanding and critical thinking skills of students. In the current digital era, the use of digital devices has opened up new opportunities in presenting and managing case-based learning in a more interactive and interesting way. This activity aims to present the use of digital devices in case-based learning to educators. This learning model is expected to improve educators' understanding and skills in integrating digital tools into case-based learning. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. By using descriptive qualitative methods, researchers can provide a rich and contextual picture of the phenomena that occur. The aim of the research is an effort to improve the quality of learning by utilizing digital devices. Education in the digital era requires innovative approaches to improve the quality of learning and student engagement. SDN 05 Pasar Baru, Central Jakarta, implements the Case-Based Learning (CBL) model, which utilizes digital tools to answer challenges. By facing and overcoming existing challenges, this model can continue to be improved and adapted to meet educational needs in the digital era.

Abstract

Students' character is starting to fade due to the digital era, therefore it is necessary to develop character in accordance with the Pancasila Character. This research aims to analyze the implementation of scout activities at SDS Pantai Indah as an extracurricular program in strengthening the character of Pancasila in the digital era. The research was carried out in January - May 2024. The research method used was descriptive qualitative by collecting data through observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the research show that scout activities at SDS Pantai Indah focus on building the character of students based on the basic principles of Scouting, with an emphasis on the values of Pancasila. It was found that scout activities have significant benefits in developing students' character, such as thinking positively, speaking politely and politely, and being able to be responsible. Apart from that, the implementation of structured and varied scout activities helps in strengthening Pancasila values among students. These findings contribute to further understanding of the role of scouts in character education and instilling Pancasila values in the digital era. Therefore, it is recommended that schools continue to encourage and improve scouting programs in order to obtain optimal benefits in building the characters of students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of using a guided inquiry learning model on the computational thinking skills of junior high school students in science learning. The research was conducted with a quantitative approach through quasi-experimental research design. The subjects studied were students of SMP N 7 Jember, each consisting of 36 students including class VII B as a control class (applying a direct learning model) and VII F as an experimental class (applying a guided inquiry learning model). Data collection was carried out through the provision of computational thinking skills tests as many as 7 essay questions. Problems are developed based on indicators of computational thinking skills (decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithms). The results of the independent sample t-test of the control class and experimental class obtained a value of Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 smaller than the significance level of 0.05. Based on the test criteria Independent sample t-test, it can be concluded that there is a significant comparison between pretest and posttest values in the control class and experimental class. Next, the right-party t-test was carried out with the results of a calculated value of 22.210 greater than ttable 1.996 with a significance level of 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the average scores of students' computational thinking skills in the control class and the experimental class. This shows that learning using a guided inquiry model is effective in improving the computational thinking skills of junior high school students in science learning.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the use of problem-based learning (PBL) learning strategies in learning fiqh courses at Islamic universities. The learning strategy Problem-based learning is considered as a learning strategy that can help students solve problems, strengthen their understanding of concepts, and improve spiritual aspects of religious learning. This research was conducted qualitatively using a descriptive analysis approach. In other words, the aim of this research is to describe an event based on interrelated facts and information. The research results show that the use of problem-based learning strategies can increase students' understanding of fiqh and encourage them to participate actively in solving problems related to everyday life. In addition, this model shows the potential to increase students' social awareness, integrity, and religious responsibility.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of student understanding and student activity on learning outcomes in informatics subjects through the mediator of project completion ability. The study used a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modelling analysis method with 168 students as respondents. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire containing positive and negative statements covering indicators including, understanding (translation, interpretation, extrapolation), activity (participation, gathering information, discussion, assessing self-ability), learning outcomes (cognitive, affective, psychomotor improvements), project completion skills (problem solving, critical thinking, project management). The results showed that student understanding had a significant effect on learning outcomes (percentage 25.2%, p-value 0.001), and project completion skills (percentage 32.7%, p-value 0.000). Student activity does not affect learning outcomes (percentage of 2%, p-value 0.802), but affects the skills to complete projects (percentage 50.5%, p-value 0.000). The skills to complete projects have a significant effect on learning outcomes (percentage 57.7%, p-value 0.000). In addition, student understanding and student activity have a significant indirect effect on learning outcomes through the mediator of project completion skills with each percentage (18.9%, p-value 0.000 and 29.2%, p-value 0.000). Thus, student understanding and project completion skills have a direct effect on student learning outcomes, while student activity only has an indirect effect through project completion skills.

Abstract

Facing increasing complex challenges in an ever-evolving society, strengthening character education is considered an important aspect in shaping individuals who have integrity, ethics and good personality. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the various innovations in character education strengthening program models that have been implemented in the Indonesian curriculum from 2013 to 2022. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature study method to gather information from various reliable sources such as scientific journals, books and official publications. The main findings include the variety of innovative models that have been implemented, with positive impacts in shaping students' personalities, such as increased positive attitudes, social care, morality and integrity. However, challenges include a lack of understanding and full engagement from all parties involved in education. The conclusion of this study confirms that the integration of character education should be an integral part of the curriculum at all levels of education. This research makes an important contribution to the development of character education in Indonesia by introducing an innovative model to strengthen character education that has been implemented, while highlighting the challenges that still need to overcome.
