Abstract

Have done the manufacture and characterization of thick herba extracts meniran (Phyllanthus niruri Linn). Condensed extract is made using 96% ethanol solvent was concentreated by rotary evapolator. The observed character of the extract that is by fluorescence analysis. Fluorescence analysis performed on each fraction, methanol fraction, ethyl acetat fraction the fraction of water, kloroforom fraction, eter fraction in the test under UV 254 nm and 366 nm UV light whit the addition of reagents. The results obtained from the fraction of a significant color reaction is positive alkaloid characterized by a bright green color under UV light 254 nm, positive light yellow flavonoid under 366 nm UV lamp. In this study also tested the physic chemical.

Abstract

Research about making of microcrystalline cellulose from stick bulrush ( Pennisetum purpureum Schumach) have done. From 300 g dry stick bulrush got 50,772 g microcrystalline cellulose. The loss on drying was about 5,57%. Characters a white, granular powder, odorless and tasteless. Identification with iodinated zinc chloride solution the substance becomes violet-blue. Solubility in the ammoniacal copper tetrammine solution it dissolves completely. Water-soluble substances the residue weighs is 0,085%. Starch with add iodine 0,05 M is negative (blue colour isn’t produced). The pH of the supernatan liquid is 5,46 and Hydration capacity is 3,504. Bulk and tapping densities is 0,251 and 0,374. Carr’s index and Hausner index  is 32,68 and 1,49. The inspection loss on drying, Characters organoleptic, Identification, Solubility in the ammoniacal copper tetrammine solution and Starch of result microcrystalline cellulose same with comparator (Vivacel pH 102) and fulfill conditions of British Parmacopoeia 2002.

Abstract

Hiperkolesterolemia merupakan suatu keadaan saat kadar kolesterol tinggi didalam darah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh ekstrak etanol buah kundua (Benincasa hispida (Thunb.) Cogn.) terhadap kadar kolesterol total, LDL, trigliserida, VLDL dan HDL pada mencit putih jantan. Penginduksi peningkat kolesterol yang digunakan berupa makanan lemak tinggi dan prophlythiourassil secara peroral selama 14 hari. Kemudian dilanjutkan penambahan pemberian ekstrak secara peroral satu kali sehari selama 14 hari dengan dosis 150 mg/kg BB; 300 mg/kg BB dan 600 mg/kg BB. Parameter yang diamati adalah kadar kolesterol total, LDL, trigliserida, VLDL dan HDL. Pengukuran dilakukan pada hari ke-29 menggunakan fotometer v5­+ 5010. Data hasil penelitian ini dianalisis dengan ANOVA satu arah. Dari hasilpenelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa, pemberian ekstrak etanol buah kundua (Benincasa hispida (Thunb.) Cogn.) tidak dapat mempengaruhi secara signifikan penurunan kadar kolesterol total, LDL, trigliserida, VLDL  dan peningkatan kadar HDL pada mencit putih jantan hiperkolesterolemia.Kata Kunci : Ekstrak etanol; Benincasa hispida (Thunb.) Abstract

Secara empiris, daun sirih hijau banyak digunakan sebagai obat hepatitis, bronkhitis, dan antiseptik. Zat-zat yang terkandung didalamnya mampu mengatasi peradangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat aktivitas hepatoprotektor dari daun sirih hijau terhadap kerusakan hati yang diinduksi dengan parasetamol pada mencit putih jantan. Parameter yang diamati yaitu aktivitas SGPT dan SGOT. Hewan percobaan dibagi dalam 5 kelompok yang terdiri dari kelompok kontrol negatif, kelompok kontrol positif (parasetamol 500 mg/KgBB), kelompok dosis 50 mg/kgBB, 100 mg/kgBB dan 200 mg/kg BB. Pemeriksaan kadar SGOT, SGPT  pada hari ke 3, 7, 15 dan pemeriksaan histopatologi hati untuk melihat gambaran kerusakan hati. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya penurunan aktivitas SGOT dan SGPT. Penurunan tertinggi  aktivitas SGOT dan SGPT diperlihatkan pada dosis 200 mg/kgBB pada pemeriksaan hari ke-15 sebesar 13,57 U/L dan 14,15 U/L. Pemeriksaan histopatologi menunjukkan perbaikan kerusakan jaringan hati yang terlihat dari penurunan nekrosis sentrolobular. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak daun sirih hijau (Piper betle Linn ) memiliki aktivitas hepatoprotektor.

Abstract

Research on the effect of roselle calyx ethanol extract (Hibiscus sabdariffa Linn) on  the levels of LDL female white mice have been done. The extract was administered orally with a variety doses 500, 700 and 1000 mg /kg bw once daily for 7, 14 and 21 days.  as a negative control group using white female mice were given standard diet, while the positive control were given  atherogenic cocktail as induction . The results showed that the ethanol extract of roselle calyx apparently have a significant effect on levels of LDL blood cholesterol of female white mice. dose of 28 mg/20 g bw showed reduced blood levels of LDL cholesterol better than a dose of 14 mg/20g bw  and 19.6/20g bw. Based on further test duncan, reduced levels of LDL cholesterol on day 21 showed excellent results compared to most day 7th and 14th.

Abstract

It has been the research about determination level of vitamin B1 in soy bean and tempe. The determination level of vitamin B1 was measured by spectrophotometry visible method. The result is level of vitamin B1 in soy bean higher than level of vitamin B1 in tempeh. Which level of vitamin B1 in soy bean and tempeh is about 1.0213 % ±0.0188% and 0.2960 % ±0.0095%. It show that the proces manufacturing, like washing, bathing, boiling can affect the level of vitamin B1. Statistic analyze anova one way by using SPSS 17 program shows there are significant different (p<0.05) in the level from each sample.

Abstract

Research on the effect of carrot juice (Daucus carota, Linn) on blood glucose levels of female white mice have been  done. These experiments use advantage glucose meter (Roche) to measure the glucose blood level  with the enzymatic method. The treatment carried out for 21 days with observation time at day 7, 14 and 21. carrot juice given Doses is 0.52; 1.04, and 2.08 g/20g bw. The results showed that administration of carrot juice at all dose groups can lower blood glucose levels of mice was significantly (P, 0.05) After giving 3 mg/20 g bw alloxan and glucose 195 mg/20 g bw.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang identifikasi dan penetapan  kadar natrium benzoate  telah dilakukan pada jahe giling halus yang diambil dari tiga lokasi yaitu Pasar Ibuh Payakumbuh, Pasar Bawah Bukittinggi dan Pasar Raya Padang, masing – masing lokasi diambil dua sampel. Analisis kualitatif asam  benzoat dalam sampel dilakukan dengan  reaksi esterifikasi dan reaksi warna. Hasil analisis kualitatif dari enam (6) sampel, diperoleh dua (2) sampel positif (+) yang mengandung natrium benzoat. Sampel yang positif mengandung natrium benzoat diekstraksi dengan menggunakan  pelarut eter dan ditetapkan kadarnya dengan menggunakan spektrofotometer ultraviolet. Dari hasil analisis kuantitatif yang dilakukan, didapat kadar asam benzoat pada sampel dengan rentang 339-552 mg/kg. Hasil ini membuktikan bahwa kadar asam benzoat yang terdapat pada  jahe giling halus tidak melampui batas pemakaian maksimum  yang ditetapkan dalam Peraturan Kepala Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan Republik Indonesia No.36 Tahun 2013 yaitu 600 mg/kg bahan, sehingga aman untuk di konsumsi masyarakat.

Abstract

An assay of the active cuteneous antianaphylactic of the ethanolic extract  Etlingera elatior (Jack). R. M. Smith on white male mice could be determined by measurement of the pro long of occurrence time, the decreased in diameter and the color intensity of the blue bump formed by using blue evan’s solutian as indicator which was given intravenously. The ethanolic extract were given in three different doses (100, 300, 900 mg per kg body weight). Allergic reaction was induced by giving egg’s albumin as antigen. Increasing the dose caused pro long of occurrence time increasing dose, decreased in diameter and the color intensity of the blue bump. The result was analyzed by one way ANOVA and Kruskal Wallis. Result indicated the ethanolic extract of Etlingera elatior (Jack) R. M. Smith had significant effect for each dose (P<0.05).

Abstract

An antimicrobial activity studies from methanol extract of the leaves Tabat Barito (Ficus deltoidea Jack) to some bacterias and fungis with diffusion method and determination of Minimum Inhibitory Consentration (MIC) by using dilution method have been done. From antimicrobial activity test by using diffusion method show that methanol extract of the leaves Tabat Barito (Ficus deltoidea Jack) can inhibit the growth of bacterias and fungis. The MIC for staphylococcus aureus is 1%, for staphylococcus epidermis is 0.7%, for staphylococcus aeruginosa is 0.8%, and for eschericha coli is 0.7%.
