If at any time a family member is traveling and wants to monitor and control conditions from a distance, an electronic device is used. One solution to determine the condition of home security at all times, an internet connection is needed by using the concept of the Internet of Things (IoT). IoT is a concept of using an internet network to transfer data or share information with certain applications. The IoT concept is one of the IR 4.0 based systems. In Indonesia, the system has not been widely implemented, especially for village areas. The purpose of this activity is to introduce the concept of IoT in a region as a system of monitoring and controlling homes. The method used is socialization and training of IoT-based smart home models. The system that is introduced is setting lights, monitoring gas (kitchen security), and monitoring using a camera. Abstract

AbstractThe condition of the many shellfish wastes in Tanjung Balai City in North Sumatra Province makes a concern to the "Karya Working Group" as a part of Prosperous Family Income Improvement Business Group (an initiative from Indonesia™s National Family Planning board to improve family welfares; abbreviated as UPPKS) led by Mrs. Khalijah. The productivity of the Karya working group can be optimized considering that there are quite a lot of orders that have not been able to be fulfilled by them. Some of the obstacles in the management of this seashell handicraft business include the manual rinsing of seashells resulting in a long waiting time for further processing of production with the use of the same workforce; order-based marketing and relatively limited product innovation. In some aspects, similar shell craft products produced by competitors, especially in Java, have relatively better quality considering the products in question have been produced to scale exports to foreign countries. This mentoring activity in the management of product business managed by UPPKS Karya consisted of the use of technology for clamshell cleaning, assistance in utilizing e-marketing through social media and a more varied range of products that have contributed to increased effectiveness and efficiency in the production and marketing of handicraft products from clamshell waste produced by the Work UPPKS. In the future, UPPKS Karya's technological literacy is expected to continue to be able to increase its creativity through the exploration of product designs inspired by cyberspace for improving the competitiveness of products produced. Keywords: Shell Waste, Souvenir Crafts, E-Marketing, Tanjung Balai.

Abstract

AbstractIn general, the development of character building in a formal education can be applied through buying and selling transaction activities in the school canteen. The widespread use of computer technology can also be applied in trade activities in school canteens as an effort to establish the character of Indonesia's young generation with integrity and honesty. The introductory on the use of technology through a Self-Purchasing System or also commonly known as the Self-Check-out System is a mechanism that provides an opportunity for customers to process their purchases by scanning the items they buy and making direct payments before leaving the store/store. This technology can be initiated into religious and non-religious-based elementary schools that practice the values integrity and honest character from a specific religion to general values. However, even though these values have become a daily part of learning, the use of modern technology in the practice of education cannot be denied. Thus, the combination of pedagogy on the conceptual character-building value in the classroom and the use of science and technology in trading activities in the school canteen will accelerate the formation of integrity and honest character within the pupils. Keywords: Character Building, Self-Purchasing System, Governance, Smart School Canteen Model.
