Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a new technology that can help people answer questions, provide directions, and perform various tasks based on their commands. The technology can be a helpful tool, but it is also harmful. In education, especially in higher education, students can easily find answers to quizzes, write papers, locate types of literature, and create presentations in just a second by using artificial intelligence. Hence, this study aimed to describe the use of artificial intelligence among university students and to analyze the quality of students’ writing tasks from the perspectives of both students and lecturers. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method. The data is collected through questionnaires. There are two kinds of questionnaires. The first is for students; the questionnaires aim to gather information on the types of artificial intelligence university students use to complete their writing tasks. The second is for the lecturers; the questionnaires aim to gather their perceptions of the quality of tasks completed by students using AI. The questionnaires are shared through Google Forms. The population of this research consists of fourth-semester students in the Islamic Education study program. The sample consists of 40 students, selected using simple random sampling. However, only 38 students responded to the questionnaire. The results show that 52% of fourth-semester students use AI to complete their tasks. Most students (37%) used ChatGPT to complete their tasks. The students perceive that they use AI only to find ideas or inspiration, but they still read the references to complete the tasks. They realize that the use of AI can decrease their analytical competence. However, they perceive AI as helpful to them. The lecturers perceive that the use of AI can help students complete tasks. However, it can decrease the students' creativity, critical thinking, and analytical competence. Further, the use of AI can increase plagiarism, as most students copy and paste from AI websites. Therefore, the lecturers suggest that student

Abstract

The Indonesian government faces similar challenges in managing bureaucracy amidst technological innovation and data management, which requires strategic policy-making. This research analyses the digital government framework in the implementation of the One Data Indonesia Policy, using Open Government Data (OGD) with Innovative Resistance Theory analysis. This study seeks to examine the implementation of the One Data Policy in the Indonesian government, specifically focusing on the management of environmental education data within the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (2019-2024). This research will be based on these key questions: (1) How is the One Data Indonesia policy being implemented within the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology? and (2) What challenges impede the implementation of the One Data Indonesia policy within the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology? And (3) How can policy recommendations be formulated to develop a better strategy for the One Data Policy in Indonesia's education sector? Based on these questions, the study explores the implementation of the One Data Indonesia policy in education on government sector.

Abstract

Education in Southeast Asian countries continues to evolve in line with the demands of globalization and the need for competitive human resources. Indonesia and the Philippines are two countries that place significant emphasis on developing basic education as a foundation for developing 21st-century competencies. Indonesia is currently implementing the Independent Curriculum, which emphasizes learning flexibility, differentiated learning, and strengthening student character through the Pancasila Student Profile. Meanwhile, the Philippines implements the K-12 curriculum designed to align the national education system with international standards and prepare graduates for continuing their education and entering the workforce. This study aims to analyze and compare the structure of elementary school curricula in Indonesia and the Philippines, including educational objectives, subject structure, learning load, and competency orientation. The method used is a comparative study with a qualitative approach through an analysis of curriculum policy documents in both countries. The results of the study indicate that although both curricula share the same goal of improving the quality of basic education, there are significant differences in the emphasis on curriculum flexibility, learning approaches, and orientation to learning outcomes. These findings are expected to serve as reflection and reference material in the development of elementary education curriculum policies in the Southeast Asian region.

Abstract

Low mathematics learning achievement and minimal use of learning media are problems in mathematics learning, especially in the subject of quadrilateral shapes. This study aims to determine the effect of the discovery learning model assisted by flipbooks on the mathematics learning achievement of seventh-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Rengel. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The research subjects consisted of class VII C as the experimental class and class VII A as the control class. Data were collected through learning achievement tests and analysed using the t-test. The results showed that the learning achievement of students who participated in discovery learning assisted by flipbooks was higher than that of students who participated in conventional learning. Thus, the discovery learning model assisted by flipbooks had a positive effect on students' mathematics learning achievement.

Abstract

Grammar mastery is essential in English as a Foreign Language (EFL), particularly for academic contexts such as TOEFL. However, the increasing use of artificial intelligence (AI) in grammar learning risks encouraging surface-level accuracy without deep cognitive engagement. This study aimed to develop a Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS)-based grammar learning module focusing on clause mastery by integrating Problem-Based Learning (PBL) within the ADDIE instructional design model. Using a Research and Development (R&D) approach, the study followed five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data were collected through expert validation and student questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods. The material expert evaluation showed a feasibility score of 84.6% (highly feasible), while student responses indicated a feasibility level of 78.8% (feasible). Students perceived the module as effective in enhancing analytical and evaluative thinking. The findings suggest that the HOTS-based grammar module is pedagogically feasible and supports deeper cognitive engagement in grammar learning, provided it is implemented with coherent instructional strategies and appropriate assessment alignment in AI-supported learning environments.
