Abstract

This study investigates the effect of floor gymnastics training on body movement flexibility among fifth-grade students at SDN 9 Jambu Mlonggo, Jepara. Using a quantitative experimental approach with a one-group pretest–posttest design, a total of 25 students were selected through total sampling. The independent variable was floor gymnastics training, while the dependent variable was body movement flexibility measured by the sit-and-reach test over six consecutive weeks. Statistical analysis using the Paired Sample t-test revealed that flexibility improvements were not significant in the first two weeks, indicating an initial adaptation phase. However, significant increases were observed starting from week four (p = 0.003) and continued to weeks five and six (p < 0.001), demonstrating the cumulative effect of structured and progressive training. These results highlight that sustained floor gymnastics practice enhances flexibility through neuromuscular adaptation and increased elasticity of muscles and joints. The findings reinforce the importance of incorporating continuous and progressive flexibility training within physical education programs, especially in the context of the Indonesian “Merdeka Curriculum” which emphasizes active, student-centered learning.

Abstract

Traditional games are a cultural heritage that plays an important role in supporting child development, especially in terms of motor skills. However, in the digital age, children's interest in traditional games has declined due to the dominance of gadgets and online games, which can potentially hinder the development of gross motor skills such as balance, speed, and agility. Gobak Sodor, as one of Indonesia's traditional games, involves active physical movements such as running, jumping, and maintaining balance, making it a relevant medium for physical education. This study aims to determine the effect of the traditional game of Gobak Sodor on the motor skills of fifth-grade students at MI Matholiul Ulum Menco. The study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest–posttest quasi-experimental design. The research subjects consisted of 31 students (12 boys and 19 girls). The instrument used was a motor skills test covering aspects of balance, speed, agility, and coordination. The data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity, and paired sample t-tests to examine the differences between the pretest and posttest results. The results showed a significant improvement in students' motor skills after participating in Gobak Sodor. Posttest scores were consistently higher than pretest scores (p < 0.05) across all indicators. This proves that Gobak Sodor is effective in improving motor skills while fostering cooperation, sportsmanship, and appreciation of local culture. This study contributes to the understanding that traditional games can be integrated into physical education as an innovative and contextual strategy to support children's holistic development.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the quality of teaching services of Special School (SLB) teachers is in designing learning for students. The study was motivated by the fact that many teachers still teach outside their area of expertise, particularly in Special Education Schools. The research method used in this study is qualitative research, employing in-depth interview techniques with research subjects. The research subjects were special school teachers at SLB Bina Bakti, South Jakarta, with data collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation. Data validity was ensured using source triangulation and method/technique triangulation. Data analysis employed an interactive model consisting of data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that the quality of teaching services of teachers at SLB Bina Bakti remains low due to the high number of teachers with non-special education qualifications at the school. This situation affects several aspects: 1) In lesson planning for students with emotional and behavioral disorders, teachers are still lacking in preparation and determining the appropriate models and methods. This is because teachers continue to use lesson plans that do not align with the standards for teaching students with special needs established by the school itself. 2) In the implementation of learning, teachers are still lacking in providing appropriate learning treatments for students with special needs, such as adapting materials, using varied methods, utilizing adequate media, and maintaining conducive classroom management. 3) Evaluation is relatively effective, often using written tests adjusted to the students needs and guided by teachers in completing the questions or evaluation tests according to the students conditions. Thus, teachers face numerous challenges in teaching students with special needs.

This study aims to analyze the relevance of the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum to the challenges of 21st-century education at Muhammadiyah Elementary School 14. The background of this research lies in the need for the national education system to adapt to global changes that require students to possess higher-order thinking skills, adaptability, and strong character. The Merdeka Curriculum is expected to address these challenges through learning that focuses on competence and character development in accordance with the Pancasila Student Profile. The research utilized a descriptive qualitative method, collecting data through observations, interviews with teachers and the school principal, and document reviews. Data analysis followed the stages of reduction, display, and conclusion drawing, while source triangulation was applied to strengthen the credibility and validity of the study. The results indicate that the Merdeka Curriculum shows a high degree of relevance to the demands of 21st-century education, as it fosters independent and reflective character as well as critical thinking skills. The implementation of Project-Based Learning effectively enhances students’ collaboration, creativity, and communication skills. In addition, the integration of the Pancasila Student Profile strengthens religiosity, mutual cooperation, and global diversity values. However, the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum still faces challenges, such as limited teacher competence and inadequate digital learning facilities. Therefore, the success of this curriculum depends on continuous support through teacher training, academic mentoring, and strengthening educational infrastructure, so that it becomes a concrete movement toward realizing holistic, contextual, and globally relevant education.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of fourth-grade elementary school students, which were still below the (KKTP). This condition was caused by teachers still using old learning models and media and not yet implementing innovative learning models and media, resulting in learning becoming less interesting and causing boredom among students. This study aims to analyse the effect of implementing the (PBL) model assisted by an educational monopoly game on cultural diversity on student learning outcomes in IPAS learning. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental research type and a quasi-experimental design. The research sample consisted of 56 students, with class IVB designated as the experimental class and class IVA designated as the control class. Data collection techniques in this study were carried out through observation, interviews, documentation, and testing. Learning outcome data were analysed using the t-test (independent sample t-test). The results of the analysis showed that tcount > ttable (5.605 > 2.004) with a significance value (0.000 < 0.05), so Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. It can be concluded that the application of the PBL model supported by media monopoly with cultural diversity has a significant effect on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Technology in elementary schools is increasingly needed to provide an interesting, meaningful, and modern learning experience. This research examines how integrating barcode scanning with diorama media influences the project skills of fourth-grade students at SB Kepong, Malaysia. Diorama media combined with barcode scans is designed to provide fast and interactive access to additional information, so that students can explore the material in more depth. A quasi-experimental quantitative design with a pretest and posttest control format was applied in this study. The research involved nine fourth-grade students who were organized into two groups. The experimental group learned through diorama media integrated with barcode scanning, while the control group participated in conventional classroom learning. Data collection was carried out using observation sheets to measure students’ project skills and questionnaires to capture students’ learning responses. The findings revealed that the mean pretest score was 20.2%, which later increased to 46% in the posttest. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test yielded a significance value of 0.007, which is below 0.05, indicating a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. These results suggest that the use of Barcode Scan Diorama as a learning medium significantly enhances students’ interest in science at the Muhammadiyah Kepong Malaysia Guidance Center.

Abstract

Rapid digitalization and social transformation have contributed to a decline in students’ civic disposition, posing challenges for Pancasila education in fostering responsible and engaged citizens. This study examines the effect of gamified NoHaKi E-Module on elementary students’ civic disposition in Pancasila Education. A quantitative pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design was used. The sample consisted of 40 fifth-grade students at SDN Demaan, Jepara, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a Likert-scale questionnaire covering five aspects: social and moral responsibility, social participation, rule compliance, environmental awareness, and empathy and tolerance. The results showed a significant improvement in civic disposition after the intervention. The mean score increased from 70.0 (pretest) to 81.9 (posttest). The paired-samples t-test indicated a statistically significant difference (t = -6.18, p < 0.001). The highest increases were found in social and moral responsibility (16.88%) and rule compliance (15.62%), indicating stronger awareness of civic values among students. These findings indicate that gamified NoHaKi e-moduls effectively enhance students’ civic disposition by increasing engagement, motivation, and active participation, while supporting the internalization of civic values in elementary education.
