Gentala Journal Basic Education is a periodical scientific journal published in Indonesian language published by the Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Primary School Teacher Education Study Program twice a year in June and December. Abstract

This study aims to: (1) describe the role of school principals in increasing educational support through planning, organizing, and supervising school programs in SDN 18 / III Tarutung, Kerinci Regency; (2) describe the obstacles in improving the quality of education. This research is a case study using qualitative. The subjects of the study were the Principal, educators, and education staff. The results of this study indicate the role of school principals in improving the quality of education: (1) planning and initiating programs, curriculum, learning policies, counseling guidance with educators and education staff; (2) creating an organizational structure that requires parents through the school board and completing the required infrastructure; (3) educating educators and education in the administration process, and learning media; (4) disciplining educators and education personnel in the learning process from the admission process to the completion of the teaching and learning program. (5) Give a good and calm example at work, motivate and respect moral and material responsibilities, increase welfare, include educators and education personnel in training and education and motivate senior teachers to have a lifelong spirit of education; (6) Apply the principle of kinship in all activities. The constraint that speaks is the factor of facilities and infrastructure in supporting student learning activities.

Abstract

Mathematics lesson is one of the key subjects, because it is used in almost all subjects. Therefore, learning mathematics in school is important. So also in everyday life it does not escape things related to mathematics. The increase of student learning outcomes in math subjects should begin with the introduction of problems that are appropriate to the situation (contextual problem). Some materials are considered difficult for students, especially in elementary school is the material to compare fractions by cross-multiplication. Many learning models can be used to improve student learning outcomes, with the expectation that teachers using learning models in the learning process will make it easier for teachers to stimulate improved learning outcomes, a systematic and pleksible effort or action to improve student learning capabilities or outcomes. One of the learning models that can be used is to use a make and match. The use of this learning model is expected to increase student learning activities on material comparing fractions by cross-multiplication.

Abstract

One of the competencies that students must master in learning mathematics is to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and mixed operations, including those involving fractions. So, students can solve problems which include the ability to understand problems, design mathematical models, solve models, and interpret the solutions obtained. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of errors made by students, to describe the students' abilities, and to determine the factors that caused students of Class IIA SDN Pandeanlamper 05 Semarang to experience difficulties in solving math problem solving problems. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research methods. The subjects of this study were 25 students of Class IIA SDN Pandeanlamper 05 Semarang. After being analyzed, the results obtained were that students had difficulty solving problems solving math problems with the material of multiplication and division, namely 1) Students did not understand the meaning or content of story problems, 2) The students' ability to memorize multiplication and division was still low, 3) External factors such as health conditions, socioeconomic status, and student attendance have an effect on students' ability to solve math problem solving problems. This proves that the difficulties experienced by students in solving math problem solving problems are caused by two factors, namely internal factors and external factors.

Abstract

The study was intended to describe the load of patriotic character on the fourth grade school elementary school student book the beautiful theme of diversity in my country. The design on this research is qualitative research. The type of research used is a descriptive qualitative. Research methods used are those of content analysis. The data retrieved on this study is the content of a character love of the motherland in the sentences found in the student book on IPS materials. The source of data on this study is the 2013 curriculum of the 2013 beautiful them of diversity in my country, the 2017 revision on the fourth grade school elementary school. The study was carried out from April to June. The data analisyis techniques involve data reduction, data display divided into two stages, the classifying of data, the descryption and interpretation of data, and the conclusions drawing/verification. An analysis of the fill character content found in the fourth grade school elementary school students book the beautiful theme of my country was found as many as 77 load of patriotic character covering 15 sentences in the first indicator, 22 sentences in the second indicator, 22 sentences in the third indicator, 9 sentences in the forth indicator, 5 sentences in the fifth indicator, 4 sentences in the sixth indicator. The sentences found in each material can grow and form a patriotic love character in the student. By teaching and delivering material that is sufficient.

Abstract

The study aims to describe the value of character education in obligatory songs. The kind of research used on this research is a descriptive qualitative. The data drawn from this study are the lyrics to national obligatory songs. This research was conducted on April s/d in June. The data-reduction technique results in a way that results in data reduction, data presentation that is divided into two stages of data rating and decryption and interpretation of data and verification. Analyse of the character education values found in the national anthem have been found as many as 84 values which include 2 religious values, 3 value of tolerance, 8 value of discipline, 8 of democratic worth, 1 of democratic worth, 13 of patriotic passion, 34 of patriotism, 1 value of achievement, 4 of peace-loving values, 6 of environmental concern, 2 of social concern, and 1 of responsibility. The character education values found in compulsory national songs contribute to growing and shaping character education values in lower learners.

Abstract

This research is purposed to improve critical thinking ability of students through Problem Based Learning (PBL) model application in Pengalusan 1 General Primary School. The media used to help this research is an audio visual media which is also a learning video. The type of this research is a class action research which includes 4 stages of activity in 1 cycle. The participants of this research are students of grade IV Pengalusan 1 General Primary School in 2nd semester of 2019/2020 school year, 28 students in total. The technic of data collection used consists of test and non test technic which involves observation and document. The result of this research shows that application of Problem Based Learning model is able to improve students’ critical thinking ability. The average of students’s ability in critical thinking is raised from 62.143 with percentage of completeness 50% becomes 71.4 with percentage of completeness 78.6%. The ability of critical thinking in students with problem based learning model can raise up through the syntax from problem based learning model which are in phase 1 student orientation of problem and phase 3 independent and club investigation. It is concluded that problem based learning model with the help of audio visual media can improve the ability of critical thinking in students of grade IV Pengalusan 1 General Primary School. Abstract

This study aims to improve the attitude of student responsibility in the Basic Concepts of Sociology, Anthropology, and History lectures by applying the Learning Cycle Model at PGSD FKIP UNIB. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR). CAR stages are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The results showed that the application of the Learning Cycle model in the Basic Concepts of Sociology, Anthropology, and History lectures could increase students' attitudes of responsibility. The suggestion given is that other researchers are advised to examine attitudes other than responsibility, so that the development of student attitudes can be monitored periodically.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the impact of holidays while studying from home due to the covid 19 pandemic on the psychology of elementary school children. This research was conducted at Hello Kurnia Housing, Sungai Duren Village, Jambi Luar Kota. This research uses a qualitative approach. The type of research in this study is phenomenology with 15 research subjects. this research data is obtained by direct observation an in-depth interviews. The data will be analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model with three steps of analysis, data reduction, display data, and a conclusion. The result of the study show that due to the ongoing covid 19 pandemic, school has become a long holiday and this causes psychological problems for children. children become lazy to study independently at home because they feel lonely, because usually when they are at school children can study together with their teacher and friends. the pandemic causes children to study independenly in their own homes. children become stressed easily. Children often change their feelings depending on the state of their own hearts. Based on the result of this study, it is suggested that paerent in the Hello Kurnia Housing, Sungai Duren Village, Jambi Luar Kota, must be more patient with their children at home during long holidays, so that the child’s psycology is not distrubed. Encourage children to play and are invited to regularly study at home to generate enthusiasm in children. This is so that children remain enthuasiastic about learning in the midst of the covid 19 pandemic.

Abstract

This learning design was developed based on the principles of Jambi regional dance with four basic attitude groupings, namely the attitude of the head, body, hands, and feet. This research is a Research and Development (RnD) research by adopting the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) development model. The research data were obtained through questionnaires, observation, tests, and interviews. Qualitative research data is a description of development procedures, ethnic-based creative dance model designs for dance arts courses at PGSD. The results of the analysis are used by the researcher as a reference for designing the expected dance learning model. The design stages are designed to produce a creative dance model design prototype that is developed. the resulting prototype, validated to experts and tested on practitioners as a step of the development phase. Ethnic-based creative dance model designs are valid, and practically implemented for the effectiveness of model design. The evaluation stage is carried out at each stage (formative) to make it easier to detect development problems early so that the final (summative) evaluation focuses more on the implementation of the learning model. Through the ADDIE development phases, the ethnic-based creative dance model design model is based on the basic attitudes of Jambi regional dance, namely 8 forms of head attitudes, 18 hand attitudes, 13 body postures, and 28 attitudes. In the creative process of students, all the basic attitudes of this regional dance can be expressed in motifs, phrases, sentences, and clusters. The process of exploration in creative dance will support students' creativity in dance expression.

Abstract

The purpose of this class action research is to reveal data, information and discuss about the application of the Training Method (Drill) as an effort to improve the learning outcomes of Class I students at SDN 99 / IX Danau Kedap on the theme of my first semester Semester I in 2019/2020 Academic Year. This type of research is a classroom action research (CAR) of two cycles. This study consisted of two cycles, each cycle consisting of two meetings, following 4 stages: planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The subjects of this research were Class I students at SDN 99 / IX Danau Kedap, amounting to 13 students. Data collection was carried out through observation, daily journals (daily notes), learning achievement tests and documentation. The data obtained are quantitative descriptive with percentage calculations and data reduction. The conclusion of this study the drill method has a significant impact on the learning outcomes of Class I SDN 99 / IX students in Danau Kedap through the act of giving praise.
