The Phytochemical screening test to identify secondary metabolites of Saputangan leaves extract (Maniltoa grandiflora (A.Gray) Scheff) showed positive results on phenolic and terpenoid compounds. The reagent used for phenolic screening was 5% FeCl3 and reagent for screening terpenoid was 1% CeSO4 in 10% H2SO4. Antibacterial test was carried out by agar diffusion method on extracts of DMSO Saputangan leaves. Phenolic compound obtained from extract of Saputangan leaves were 36.96 gram where the result was obtained after maceration, partitioning and evaporation processes. Antibacterial of phenolic compound was observed based on inhibitory zone diameters of phenolic compounds formed using paper discs with a diameter of 6 mm. The diameters of the inhibition zone against Escherichia coli bacteria are 8.1; 8.5 and 9.7 mm larger than the diameter of the inhibition zone in Staphylococcus aureus bacteria at 7.3; 7.8 and 8.5 mm. Then it can be stated that DMSO extracts of phenolic compound with concentrations (0.25; 0.50 and 1.00 mg / ml) have antibacterial strength at the medium level where the average inhibition zone of S. aureus bacteria is 7.87 mm and the average inhibition zone in E. coli bacteria is 8.76 mm.

Pendahuluan: Tumbuhan Saputangan biasanya hanya dimanfaatkan sebagai tanaman hias. Kenyataannya, daun saputangan mengandung senyawa flavonoid berdasarkan hasil skrining fitokimia yang dilakukan. Senyawa flavonoid memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang dapat melindungi tubuh dari serangan radikal bebas dan dapat memperlambat munculnya penyakit kronis. Maka diperlukan untuk menentukan kadar senyawa flavonoid total di dalam daun saputangan dan mengukur aktivitas antioksidannya. Tujuan: Penentuan kadar flavonoid total menggunakan metode Spektrofotometri UV-Visibel dan mengukur IC50 sebagai antioksidan daun saputangan menggunakan metode DPPH (Diphenyl Picryl Hidrazil). Metode: Skrining menggunakan FeCl3, NH3, Alkali dan Pb(CH3COO)2. Proses maserasi dilakukan menggunakan etanol dan direndam dalam maserator selama lebih dari 24 jam. Pengukuran kadar flavonoid total menggunakan spektrofotometer UV-Visibel pada panjang gelombang kuersetin maksimum yaitu 442 nm. Hasil: Persamaan regresi linier untuk kurva kalibrasi quercetin yang dihasilkan adalah persamaan y = 0,0155x + 0,0387 dengan nilai korelasi (R2) sebesar 0,9943. Regresi linier antioksidan daun saputangan terhadap persentase hambatan adalah y = 0.6899x + 1.5616 dengan korelasi (R2) sebesar 0.9895. Daun Saputangan mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang terbukti berdasarkan hasil skrining. Sedangkan berat ekstrak setelah dipartisi menggunakan etil asetat dan n-heksana adalah 50 gr. Kadar flavonoid total pada daun saputangan adalah 33,87 mg QE/g ekstrak atau 33,87%. Nilai IC50 sebesar 70,2108 ppm yang dikategorikan sebagai antioksidan pada tingkat sedang. Kesimpulan: Kandungan flavonoid total adalah 3,87 mg QE/g ekstrak atau 33,87% dan dikategorikan sebagai antioksidan pada tingkat sedang.

Pendahuluan: Buah pepaya memiliki banyak keunggulan selain rasanya yang enak juga kaya akan vitamin C dan antioksidan. Kedua hal tersebut merupakan suatu kajian yang menarik bagi peneliti. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kadar vitamin C dan aktivitas antioksidan dari buah tersebut. Metode: Kandungan vitamin C dapat dibuktikan berdasarkan hasil skrining menggunakan pereaksi Metilen Biru yang menghasilkan warna Biru – Memudar, pada uji NaOH + FeSO4 menghasilkan warna kuning dan pada penambahan reagen KMnO4 menghasilkan warna ungu memudar, sedangkan untuk penentuan kadar vitamin C dilakukan menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis dan analisis aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan menggunakan metode DPPH. Pengukuran kadar vitamin C dimulai dengan penentuan panjang gelombang maksimum asam askorbat yaitu sebesar 263 nm. Larutan pembanding asam askorbat diukur absorbansinya pada lamda 263 nm yang menunjukkan peningkatan konsentrasi berbanding lurus dengan absorbansi yang dihasilkan. Hasil: Persamaan regresi linear untuk kurva kalibrasi asam askorbat yang dihasilkan yaitu persamaan y = 0.0165x + 0.0813 dengan nilai korelasi (R2) sebesar 0.9869. Hasil yang diperoleh pada penentuan kadar vitamin C ialah sebesar 113.33 mg/mL. Persamaan regresi linear yang dihasilkan berdasarkan data konsentrasi buah pepaya terhadap % inhibisi yaitu y = 0.8994x + 8.8905 dengan korelasi (R2) sebesar 0.9703. Sementara hasil pengukuran antioksidan dari buah pepaya dalam meredam DPPH menghasilkan nilai IC50 sebesar 45.7077 yang dikategorikan termasuk antioksidan level kuat. Kesimpulan: Kadar vitamin C sebesar 113.33 mg/mL dan nilai IC50 adalah 45.7077 merupakan antioksidan kuat.

Terpenoids screening were carried out using Liebermann Burchard and Salkowski reagent on the extract of Saputangan leaves. It showed that the leaves contained terpenoid compounds with appeared of a reddish brown ring in the extract and a reddish brown stain appeared on the TLC plate tested with 1% CeSO4 reagent in 10% H2SO4. The macerate of saputangan leaves processed separation using the partition method (Liquid-liquid Extraction). Extracts dissolved with methanol were partitioned with n-Hexane and then partitioned between aquadest and ethyl acetate in a ratio of 1: 1 to obtain 50 g of total terpenoids. Furthermore, TLC analysis was performed on total terpenoids using n-hexane: ethyl acetate (80:20 v/v) solvent to obtain 11 separate stains on the TLC plate with different Rf each. Analysis was enhanced in HPLC using 100% acetonitrile and 0.1% phosphoric acid at a wavelength of 210 nm, a flow rate of 0.500 mL/min and eluted for 30 minutes. Based on the HPLC results, there were 25 peaks which indicated the presence of total terpenoid compounds with the highest peak being peak no. 8 (ret.time's 6.234, area's 8503532 and height's 276032), peak no. 9 (ret.time's 6.674, area's 3322572 and height's 141859) and peak no. 10 (ret.time's 7.288, area's 2758231 and height's 103927)

Natural products can be used as an alternative in the treatment of various diseases such as infectious diseases due to the bioactive compounds contained therein. Moreover nowdays, there are many antibiotic resistance in the treatment of infectious diseases. Citrus maxima is one of the natural products. Citrus maxima have been used for many diseases in traditional medicine.The aim of this study was to investigate the antibacterial activity of flavonoid-rich fractions of citrus maxima peel extract. The bioactive compounds contained in Citrus maxima peel were extracted by maceration method using 96% ethanol solvent. Fractionation was conducted using liquid-liquid extraction using a solvent of water and ethyl acetate obtained ethyl acetate fraction. In this fraction, the TLC test was carried out to confirm the presence of phenolic and flavonoid compounds. The antibacterial activity testing for ethyl acetate fraction against S.aureus and E.coli was determined by disk diffusion method with concentration of 25 ppm, 50 ppm, 75 ppm and 100 ppm. The ciprofloxacin and distilled water were used as positive and negative control, respectively. The result of this study showed that ethyl acetate fraction ( flavonoid-rich fractions) Of Citrus Maxima has potential as antibacterial for bacterial S.aureus and E.coli with medium inhibitory ability in all of concentration ranges. The highest inhibition zone for S.aureus was found at a concentration of 100 ppm while for E.coli was at a concentration of 75 ppm.

Maceration using ethanol solvent was chosen in extracting durian rind which was then evaporated to obtain 50 grams of durian peel extract. The results of the phytochemical screening test showed that the durian rind contains tannin compounds as evidenced by the addition of Iron (III) chloride reagent to produce a black solution. In addition, durian peel also contains terpenoid compounds which have been proven using the Lieberman Burchard reagent so that a blackish brown ring is produced in the extract. The best hand sanitizer product formulation is 75 mL of 96% ethanol, 2 mL of glycerin, 3 mL of 3% hydrogen peroxide, 10 mL of distilled water and 10 mL of a 6% concentration of durian peel extract solution. The hand sanitizer product has a liquid form, has a clear brownish color, has a distinctive durian rind aroma with a pH around 6 indicating that the hand sanitizer is suitable for use. Concentration of 6% Durian fruit peel hand sanitizer has better antibacterial ability than other concentrations with a large inhibition zone of 12.4 mm which is categorized as a strong level as an antibacterial substance.

Penyakit infeksi jamur menjadi perhatian khusus di berbagai negara dengan iklim tropis. Indonesia dengan iklim tropis disebabkan oleh udara yang lembab, dan sanitasi yang masih kurang. Indonesia memiliki lingkungan yang padat penduduk dan tingkat sosial ekonomi yang rendah. Jamur Candida albicans merupakan jamur penyebab kandidiasis dan penyebab sariawan, lesi pada kulit, vulvavaginistis, candida pada urin (kandiduria), dan gastrointestinal kandidiasis. Salah satu jenis tanaman yang berkhasiat sebagai obat yaitu pirdot (Sauraia vulcani Korth.) dan bagian yang biasanya digunakan adalah bagian daun. Penelitian sebelumnya ekstrak daun pirdot memiliki aktivitas menghambat pertumbuhan jamur Candida albicans. Konsentrasi daun pirdot 80% memiliki aktivitas daya hambat terhadap jamur yang paling efektif. Penelitian yang dilaksanakan tersebut menggunakan ketokonazol sebagai pembanding. Budidaya tumbuhan pirdot dapat dilakukan sendiri sehingga dapat digunakan untuk keperluan pribadi di tengah pandemic sekarang ini. Sasaran dari sosialisasi ini adalah mahasiswa Farmasi Institut Kesehatan MEDISTRA Lubuk Pakam. Hal ini menjadi penting untuk landasan penelitian selanjutnya untuk menghasilkan penelitian terkait produk antijamur ke depan

Saputangan leaves contained terpenoids which appeared reddish brown rings when tested using Liebermann Burchard, Salkowski and cerric sulfate. Saputangan leaves were macerated, then partitioned to obtain total terpenoids using a separatory funnel while checking filtrate partition with cerric sulfate. Extracts dissolved with methanol were partitioned with n-Hexane and then partitioned between aquadest and ethyl acetate in a ratio of 1: 1 to obtain 50 g of total terpenoids. TLC analyses was performed on total terpenoids using n-hexane: acetone (80:20 v/v) solvent. The total terpenoids were proved that terpenoids have 11 terpenoids as red stain based on their Rf. Based on the results of tests conducted on participants involved in socialization, it was stated that around 98% of participants had understood terpenoid compounds.

The Saputangan's leaves extract contained flavonoid compounds which are proven based on the results of screening several flavonoid compound reagents. Flavonoid compounds were examined using FeCl3 to produce a black precipitate, mg metal and concentrated HCl produced an orange color, Alkaline reagents produced a brownish color, Lead acetate produced a cream color and ammonia vapor produced a yellow stain on the TLC plate. As 1000 g of saputangan leaves powder was macerated using methanol as a solvent, followed by the evaporation process in a rotary evaporator and over a water bath to obtain 100 mg of maserate. The maceration process was carried out for several days and the macerate was always checked through flavonoid screening. The flavonoid compounds in the Saputangan leaves could act as an antibacterial with medium strength which produces an average diameter of inhibition zone for S. aureus bacteria of 8.92 millimeters and E. coli bacteria of 9.42 millimeters. After the seminar, participants in the service activities understood that ornamental plants can be used as medicinal plants. In addition, participants also understood the procedures used in the antibacterial test on saputangan leaves.

Hand sanitizer is an alcohol-based hand washing product that can be available in liquid or gel form. Hand sanitizer can kill bacteria and germs on the surface of the hands without having to rinse with water. Bay leaf extract (Syzygium polyanthum) has been known to have antibacterial properties, so it is necessary to make hand sanitizer products based on bay leaf extract. The process of presenting PkM material is carried out using the lecture method assisted by infocus equipment. Meanwhile, the process of making liquid hand sanitizer products is carried out through a demonstration method. The results obtained in this PkM activity are a liquid hand sanitizer product that has a pH of 5, a distinctive bay leaf aroma and hand sanitizer products that are yellowish green or which are usually different from the color of hand sanitizer products in general. Hand sanitizer products are safe to use on the surface of the skin because the pH adjusts to the skin's pH of 4.5 - 6.5. The results of this PkM were also measured based on the post-test conducted on the training participants which showed that as many as 95% of the training participants or as many as 19 people out of 20 participants received an average score of 85 which indicated that the training participants had understood and were able to demonstrate this PkM activity with good. Meanwhile, there was 1 participant or 5% of the participants who got a score of 60, which means they did not understand this PkM activity well.
