Abstract

Background : Food choices among breastfeeding mothers are influenced by various factors, including the socio-cultural background of the surrounding community. Objective : This study aims to examine the socio-cultural factors of the Betawi ethnic group related to food selection among breastfeeding mothers in the working area of the Cilincing Subdistrict Public Health Center, North Jakarta. Research Methode : This research employed a mixed method design. The quantitative component used an observational analytic approach with a cross-sectional design, involving 66 breastfeeding mothers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using chi-square and logistic regression tests. The qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews with three main informants and two key informants, then analyzed thematically and presented in narrative form. Result : The quantitative findings revealed significant associations between food choices and family support (p=0.002), knowledge (p=0.018), education (p=0.039), and socioeconomic status (p=0.001). Socioeconomic status emerged as the most dominant factor based on multivariate analysis (p<0.05). The qualitative findings identified several major themes: dietary restrictions imposed by family members, dependence on traditional information, belief in myths, and economic limitations affecting food and beverage choices during the breastfeeding period. It is recommended that future research further explore other local cultural factors influencing breastfeeding mothers' dietary behaviors and develop nutrition education strategies rooted in local wisdom.

Abstract

Food service in hospitals is one of the indicators of nutrition service quality, where the timeliness of meal delivery and food waste are key concerns. This study aims to determine the relationship between meal delivery timeliness and food waste among inpatients at RSUD Batu Bara. The study employed a descriptive- analytic design with a cross-sectional approach, involving 36 respondents selected through quota non-random sampling. Timeliness data were collected through observation, while food waste was measured using a weighing method. The results showed that the average food waste was 16.52 %. The timeliness of meal delivery was considered moderate (61.1% on time) but did not meet the hospital standard of ≥90%. Pearson correlation analysis indicated no significant relationship between meal delivery timeliness and patient food waste (p > 0.05). In conclusion, although timely meal delivery is important, other factors appear to play  a  more  dominant  role  in  influencing  patient  food  waste.

Abstract

Adolescents are an age group vulnerable to nutritional problems due to limited understanding of a balanced diet. One strategy to improve nutritional literacy in adolescents is through education using simple, attractive, and easy-to-understand media, such as leaflets. This study aims to analyze the effect of leaflet-based "Isi Piringku" education on improving knowledge of balanced nutrition in eighth-grade students at the UPT SMP Negeri 31 Medan Tuntungan. The study design used a quasi-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest. The number of respondents was 72 people selected using a simple random sampling technique. The research instrument was a nutritional knowledge questionnaire containing 20 multiple-choice questions. Data were analyzed using a Paired Sample t-Test. The results showed an increase in the average knowledge score from 32.82 before education to 57.64 after the intervention, with a significance value of p = 0.000 (p < 0.05). This proves that education through leaflets has a significant effect on improving students' knowledge of balanced nutrition. Thus, leaflets can be used as an effective, practical, and engaging learning medium to help adolescents understand guidelines for healthy food consumption.

Abstract

Digital transformation in healthcare services in Indonesia has encouraged the use of Hospital Management Information Systems (SIMRS) as a crucial instrument for improving service quality, efficiency, and accountability. However, its implementation still faces various technical and non-technical obstacles. This study employed a systematic literature review approach by analyzing ten Google Scholar-indexed articles published between 2022 and 2025. Articles were selected using the keywords "SIMRS," "health management information system," and "health service implementation." Data were analyzed to identify the objectives, benefits, obstacles, and strategies for SIMRS implementation in Indonesia. The review results indicate that SIMRS can improve administrative efficiency, accelerate patient data access, strengthen inter-unit coordination, and improve the accuracy of pharmaceutical services. Determining factors for success include system quality, management support, and government regulations. Obstacles identified include limited infrastructure, low digital literacy among healthcare workers, resistance to change, budget constraints, and poor interoperability between systems. The combined analysis confirms that the success of SIMRS implementation is influenced not only by technological aspects, but also by human resource readiness, managerial support, and government policies. Key challenges recurrent in the literature highlight the need for a holistic approach to strengthening human resource capacity, equitable digital infrastructure, standardizing interoperability, and providing sustainable financing. The implementation of SIMRS in Indonesia has significant potential to improve the quality of healthcare services, but its success depends on an integrated strategy that integrates technology, human resources, management, and regulations. Key recommendations include strengthening digital literacy, investing in infrastructure, establishing national interoperability standards, and fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration to ensure effective, inclusive, and sustainable digitalization of healthcare services.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a public health problem in Indonesia, including in Tebing Tinggi City. Vector control efforts are carried out through various strategies, including Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN), the use of larvicides (abatesation), and insecticide spraying (fogging). This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the vector control program in the working area of the Rambung Tebing Tinggi Community Health Center (UPT). The research method uses a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews, observations, and document reviews. Research informants include the head of administration, program officers, mosquito larvae control cadres, and the community. Data analysis was carried out through reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that the PSN is routinely implemented by mosquito larvae control cadres through mosquito larvae surveys, with the support of community health center officers and cross-sectoral collaboration. Abatesation is carried out by distributing abate powder to residents' homes accompanied by education regarding safe use. Fogging is carried out selectively based on the results of epidemiological investigations and has received a positive response, although it is considered only a short-term solution. In general, the vector control program at the Rambung Community Health Center is running quite well, but increased public awareness regarding environmental hygiene and reduced reliance on fogging are needed. Collaboration between health workers, cadres, and the community is key to the success of sustainable dengue control.

Abstract

The problem of undernutrition and malnutrition among children under five remains a major public health challenge in Indonesia, including in the working area of the Blangkejeren City Health Center. This condition is influenced by inadequate dietary intake and the high prevalence of infectious diseases among toddlers. One of the key determinants in preventing nutritional problems is the role of mothers, particularly their level of knowledge and behavior in providing balanced and nutritious meals to their children. Limited maternal understanding of healthy eating patterns may reduce attention to the nutritional needs of toddlers, thereby leading to suboptimal feeding practices. This study aimed to examine the relationship between maternal nutritional knowledge and maternal behavior with the nutritional status of children under five at the Blangkejeren City Health Center. A quantitative research approach with a cross-sectional design was applied. The population consisted of all mothers who had children under five within the health center’s working area, with a total sample of 22 respondents. Data were analyzed to describe the distribution of knowledge, behavior, and nutritional status, as well as to test the relationships among variables. The findings revealed that the majority of mothers had good nutritional knowledge (77.3%), frequently practiced balanced feeding behavior (63.6%), and most children under five had normal nutritional status (72.7%). Statistical tests indicated significant associations between maternal nutritional knowledge and children’s nutritional status (p = 0.000), as well as between maternal behavior and children’s nutritional status (p = 0.000). These results suggest that the better the mothers’ knowledge and behavior regarding nutrition, the higher the likelihood that their children will achieve normal nutritional status.

Abstract

The implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) has become one of the most significant innovations in health services, aiming to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of care in hospitals. This study seeks to analyze the determinants that influence the utilization of EMR by health personnel at Grandmed Hospital. Using a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, the study involved health workers as respondents to identify factors such as training, technical support, user perception, and system usability that affect the successful implementation of EMR. The findings indicate that adequate training, positive user perception, and strong management support significantly contribute to the optimal use of EMR. Furthermore, system design that aligns with workflow is also proven to reduce resistance and improve acceptance among health personnel. These results highlight that the successful implementation of EMR is not merely a matter of technology, but also requires readiness of human resources, supportive policies, and continuous evaluation to ensure its sustainability. This research is expected to serve as a reference for hospital management in strengthening EMR implementation strategies, so that the benefits of EMR can be maximized, including improving patient safety, streamlining clinical and administrative processes, and supporting data-based decision-making. Ultimately, strengthening these factors is an important step in achieving quality digital health services that are sustainable and adaptive to technological developments
