Abstract

Stunting is a condition of malnutrition (Z-Score = <- 2 SD) which occurs continuously and occurs for a long time. In 2018 Pidie district was in the fourth highest position (38%) related to the incidence of stunting in Aceh province after Aceh Tenggara district (66.9%), Aceh Barat Daya district (60.9%) and Gayo Lues district (59, 5%). This study aims to determine the risk factors for stunting in children under five in the working area of the Simpang Tiga Public Health Center, Pidie Regency in 2019. This research is a descriptive analytic study with cross sectional design. The sample in this study were all mothers who have stunting toddlers aged 0-59 months who live in the working area of the Simpang Tiga Public Health Center. Sampling was done by using a total population method of 94 respondents. Data were analyzed by univariate, bivariate with chi square test and multivariate using multiple logistic regression. From the results of the study, it was found that as many as (19.1%) children were stunted in the very short category, those with low birth weight babies (18.1%), who had a history of infectious diseases (30.9%), who had poor eating habits. good (35.1%), those with poor immunization status (24.5%), those with low protein levels (14.9%) and those with low energy levels (11.7%). From statistical analysis it can be concluded that there is a relationship between birth weight (p = 0.003), dietary care (p = 0.022), immunization status (p = 0.001), protein adequacy level (p = 0.025), energy adequacy level (p = 0.006) and there was no association with a history of infectious disease (0.265) with stunting in children under five. The logistic regression test results showed that immunization status was the most influential risk factor for the incidence of stunting (OR = 8.2), 95% CI: 2,323-28,850. It is hoped that Simpang Tiga Public Health Center officers can improve counseling and socialization and try to provide understanding for parents about the importance of immunization so that it can reduce stunting in toddlers in the future. Abstract

Asthma is a respiratory disease caused by narrowing of the bronchial tubes, causingshortness of breath. Asthma is a multi-factorial disorder resulting from a combination ofgenetic and environmental factors. Asthma impact on productivity because most of patientsexperiencing symptoms that affect their daily lives. Dermatoglyphs, patterns of skin ridges, are derived from the hypodermal neural system and formed embryologically between the10th and 17th weeks. Student productivity can be measured by the Grade Point Average(GPA). In this study we determine the dermatoglyphic profile and the relationship betweenasthma and student’s GPA. Dermatoglyphic prints were obtained from both hands of 57students with asthma and 28 students without asthma. The frequency of GPA and fingerpatters calculated directly using Excel sheet. The association of GPA, student finger patternsand asthma calculated using Chi-Square. The results showed that the distribution of fingerpatterns among students with asthma is 38% whorl, 4% arch and 59% loop, whereas thefinger patterns among students without asthma is 32% whorl, 7% arch and 61% loop. Thesedata show that the finger pattern of the most asthmatic students is whorl compared tostudents without asthma. There are no significant association between the finger patternswith asthma. Students with asthma is relatively lower in GPA (<3) than students withoutasthma. Further analysis showed that students with lower GPA (< 3) significantly associatedwith asthma. Based on present study, it showed that the student productivity is low in studentwith asthma than student without asthma. However, there are no significant differentbetween GPA of students with asthma and students without asthma. Moreover, our findingscannot be generalized as our study had a small sample size. Hence, more elaborate studieswith larger samples with student’s relatives data worth to be done to get conclusive answerson whether dermatoglyphics can be used to predict productivity of student with asthma basedon their GPA.

Abstract

Mother is the first teacher for children, considering that mothers are more intensive withpre-school age children. Parents as teachers are not only related to formal academicabilities but can be a place for discussion about everything that is experienced by children, including sex education. Teaching sex education to children is expected to prevent childrenfrom the risk of negative behavior such as sexual violence or deviant behavior because thereis education on reproductive health and protecting their personal organs. Ironically, thereis still a taboo presumption in society that makes mothers still not provide sex education tochildren. This research is a quantitative type, the test used is chi square with a sample of 32mothers. The results of the study stated that the majority of mothers had provided sexeducation to their children. There is a relationship between knowledge, attitude andinformation exposure, while there is no significant relationship between the level ofeducation and experiences of mothers during childhood with the behavior of mothers inproviding sex education to children.

Abstract

Pediatric pulmonary tuberculosis cases in Semarang City in 2017 increased compared to2016 with 916 cases. Puskesmas Bandarharjo is the area with the highest TB sufferers inSemarang City. The discovery of pediatric TB cases at Puskemas Bandarharjo in 2016-2019fluctuated up to 43 cases spread across 4 urban villages,. The high number of tuberculosiscases in Semarang City can be caused by low health literacy. Low health literacy will affectpulmonary tuberculosis prevention behavior so that it will increase the number of cases ofpulmonary tuberculosis. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship betweenhealth literacy and parental prevention behavior against cases of pediatric pulmonarytuberculosis at Puskesmas Bandarharjo, Semarang. Primary data collection was carried outby Puskesmas Bandarharjo cadres using a questionnaire The questionnaire containsquestions that related the demographic characteristics, 10 questions about tuberculosisprevention behavior and 15 questions regarding health literacy. The sampling techniquewas consecutive sampling with a total sample of 92 people. The analysis used in this researchis univariate and bivariate analysis. Univariate analysis was carried out to provide anoverview of the research variables in the form of a percentage distribution. Bivariateanalysis was performed using chi-square to determine the relationship of each variable. There is a significant relationship between parental income per month with the incidence ofchild pulmonary tuberculosis p value 0,037 (p<0,005) and there is no significantrelationship between the age of the respondent p value 0,788 (p>0,050), the level of parentaleducation p value 0,842 and 0,407 (p>0,050), health literacy p value 0,059 (p>0,005) andparental prevention behavior p value 0,296 (p>0,005) towards the incidence of pediatricpulmonary tuberculosis in Puskesmas Bandarharjo Semarang. Parental income related withthe economic status of the family which contributes to the incidence of child pulmonarytuberculosis, because the parental income will lead to dwellings in densely populated, slumsettlements and it is difficult to meet children's nutritional needs. Abstract

The high prevalence of hypertension is a problem for public health status, so hypertensivepatients need to get safe treatment from side effects of medication, because treatment mustbe carried out in the long term. In this study, researchers conducted acupressure therapy toreach lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients. This study used a quasi-experimentalwith one group pre and post-test design. The sample in this study involved 15 hypertensivepatients where hypertension drugs were still consumed. The results of this study showed thatafter being given acupressure therapy, systolic blood pressure decreased by 15people anddiastolic pressure decreased by 12 people and increased by 3 people. Before being giventherapy, the mean systolic blood pressure was 164.02 mmHg and after acupressure therapyit decreased to 141.44 mmHg, and the mean diastolic pressure before therapy was 91.49mmHg and decreased after therapy to 86.71mmHg. The results of the paired t test showedthat diastolic blood pressure (p value = 0.000) and diastolic blood pressure (p value =0.000), meaning that there was an effect of acupressure therapy on lowering blood pressure.Acupressure therapy is effective forlowering blood pressure, so it is hoped that this modalitytherapy can also be implemented in government health care facilities by health workers, especially nurses in order to reduce the side effects of medical treatment.
