Abstract

This research is motivated by the influence of Indonesian in the world of education in delivering the process of learning foreign languages and regional languages. This study aims to examine the use of Indonesian Language in a study at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Hijratul Fath Cimahi Utara. The problems in this study are: 1) What is the role of Indonesian in the world of education? 2) Can using Indonesian language help the learning process in delivering foreign language learning and regional languages? 3) How to use good and correct Indonesian Language so that it can help the learning process? The purpose of this study is to determine the extent of the influence of Indonesian in the world of education so that it is very influential in other subjects. The research method used is qualitative research methods. The research instrument used by researchers was interviews. The research object was three teachers and the research location at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Hijratul Fath school in North Cimahi. The results of the study show that the dominant Indonesian language is used in speech events, because the language of instruction in learning uses Indonesian. Thus, the role in the world of education is very influential in the world of education that we should apply as an introduction in applying learning English and Sundanese.

Abstract

This research is in the background of the results of observations and evaluations that students do in writing, especially in writing explanatory texts by observing an image. Students still find it difficult to determine the structure of general statements, the sequence of cause and effect, and interpretation. The problem in this study is, how can the example non-example method be understood by students so that there are differences before and after using the method? Based on observations that have been made in class XI, students have difficulty writing the explanatory text. This study uses a pre-experimental method with a one group pre-test post-test design approach used by researchers by conducting an initial test before being given treatment so that it can be seen significantly the comparison of the values that have been carried out. The researcher took a sample of 30 students in class XI. Data sources obtained from students of class XI are in the form of initial test questions and final tests. Based on the results of the data that have been treated there are differences before using the Example Non Example method, namely the initial test (pretest) obtained an average value of 60 after using the Example Non Example method of the final test (posttest) of 80. So, it can be concluded that it has happened changes after being given learning by using the Example Non Example method in writing explanatory texts.

Abstract

This article describes the character's values on the character of Mother named Mbok Rondo in folklore "Timun Mas". The method used is semiotics approach, data collection technique used is reading text reading to deepen the character possessed by character Mbok Rondo in folklore "Timun Mas". The source of the data comes from a collection of folklore books titled "Timun Mas dan Raksasa", composed by MB.Rahimsyah, AR published by Bintang Indonesia in the first print of 2010. Data processing research is done by looking for a sign that shows the value of characters contained in the sentence , paragraphs, and quotes of dialogue in the folklore. The results obtained from this study show that the character values of Mbo Rondo characters are honest, hard work, creative, disciplined, independent, curiosity, communicative, peaceful, responsible, and religious.

Abstract

In learning procedure text writing the majority of students get low grades, especially in developing their ideas into written material. In this study, the authors want to see the effectiveness of learning outcomes in the procedure of writing text skills by trying to apply the Group Investigations method to students to see how the writing results in writing procedure texts. This study aims to determine the differences in the learning outcomes of writing procedure texts with the application of the Group Investigations method to the learning of writing procedure texts of students in class XI Vocational High School. The research method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method that describes the comparison of the results of student scores on learning to write procedure texts using the Group investigation method. The results show that there is an increase in the value of students after being given treatment. The average score at pretest was 72.5, the lowest score was 60, the average score was 75 and the highest score was 80, while the average score at posttest was 85, the lowest value was 80, the average score was 85, and the highest score was 95. This proved that the text learning process the procedure gets better. Students become richer in their vocabulary so that when given treatment students can clearly determine the general statement and structure of the procedure text. With the application of the Group Investigations method to Vocational High School students in class XI, they experience differences after being given treatment.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas keterampilan mahasiswa tingkat akhir yang membuat artikel yang siap dipublikasi dalam jurnal ilmiah dari hasil penelitian skripsi yang telah melewati proses pembimbingan oleh dua pembimbing dan kemudian akan dihadapkan pada seminar hasil. Peneliti memberi perlakuan pada kelompok pertama pada Mata Kuliah Aplikasi TIK dengan pemberian materi secara intensif mengenai materi MS. Office yang bertujuan memperhalus pada pengaturan tipografi dan penyesuaian gaya selingkung jurnal ilmiah berkala, sedangkan pada kelompok kedua pada Mata Kuliah Aplikasi TIK dengan hanya diberikan materi yang sesuai dengan RPS standar saja pada mata kuliah Aplikasi TIK. Pada pembahasan terlihat hasil bahwa kelompok pertama dapat lebih mampu membaca tuntunan penulis (author guidelines) pada Jurnal Semantik daripada kelompok kedua. Kelompok pertama mampu menyesuaikan tata tulis atau tipografi yang diminta pada template Jurnal Semantik yang berkaitan pada margin, fontasi, spasi dan gaya penulisan daftar pustaka yang sesuai (APA Style). Keberhasilan penelitian ini dapat dibuktikan dan berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan ilmiah pada mahasiswa pada proses membuat artikel ilmiah untuk jurnal.

Abstract

This study discusses the learning of writing a novel reviewer. The research this time the author wants to try to apply the demonstration method to learning novel writing reviews which are expected to usually improve students' ability in writing novel reviews. The formulation of the problem in this research is whether there is a difference in the ability to write novel review texts at the pretest and posttest stages using the demonstration method? This study aims to determine the difference in review text writing at the pretest and posttest stages using the demonstration method. The method used in this study used pre-experimental design in the form of one-group interpretation-posttest design. Samples taken were 26 students. The instruments used in this study used the pretest and posttest question sheets. The results showed that the average student's pretest in writing a text received 40.2, while in the posttest stage it won 50.6. Thus the method of demonstration in the study of writing a novel reviewer text there are differences in the test results from pretest to posttest.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the learning of analyzing anecdotal text from the aspect of its structure in west java folklore that is Kabayan. The type of this research is descriptive qualitative. The data in the study were analyzed by an analytical technique in the form of analyzing the structure of the anecdotal text in Kabayan story. Structure of anecdote text is Abstract, Orientation, Crisis, Reaction, and Coda. The researchers analyzed the anecdotal text structure of the text entitled Si Kabayan. Descriptive research can be used to answer research questions (not hypothesized) and test hypotheses (hypothesized). In this case, the hypothesis in the test is a Descriptive hypothesis which states the estimation of certain characteristics.

Abstract

Language as an integral part of culture can not be separated from the problem, interdependence between languages must occur for example the language vocabulary in question, given the vocabulary has an open nature. Interference is a mistake caused by the tendency to accustom speech or speech of a language to other languages including the pronunciation of sound units, grammar, and vocabulary. Of errors that occur as a result of the engagement of the habits of speech into the second dialect language. Such as those from two different parent language backgrounds, namely Sundanese and Indonesian languages from those studied. The parent language is very influential on the child. If parents are accustomed to using the first language, so that the language of the child will follow the language of the parents, not only influential parents’ language, environment and school also greatly affect the child’s language. In children aged 12 years their language is increasing due to environmental and school factors, but the background language of parents is not lost from the child’s language. Interference factors that affect the language of the child in use.

Abstract

The subject of this study is the results of evaluating poetry writing for students who do not reach the indicators of learning success in the curriculum so that the researcher offers a solution that is a recognized learning method that is more effective in improving students' ability to write poetry using the Outdoor study method. The formulation of the problem formulated in this study is about how the results of poetry writing skills using the outdoor study method? This study aims to determine the results of poetry writing skills using the outdoor study method. The method used in this study is the experimental method. The instrument for collecting data in this study uses the initial test sheet and the final test. Based on the results of the research, the students' ability to write poetry texts obtained an average initial test score of 43,0 and after using the outdoor method the study of poetry writing learning obtained an average value of 64,5. So, it can be concluded that the application of the outdoor study method to learning poetry text writing in class X SMAN 1 Katapang is able to improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

As a student or teacher, writing cannot be separated. Writing means the process of expressing ideas through writing. So the more we write, it means that the more our thoughts are contained in writing. This research is motivated by the low value of writing ad text on junior high school students, this is evidenced by the results of interviews with Indonesian teachers who stated that advertising text material is new material that is in learning in junior high schools. Therefore, researchers formulate how the results before and after learning to write ad text using the active learning method in class VII students. The purpose of this study was to determine the success and effectiveness of active learning methods in learning to write ad text. Therefore, the learning method used by researchers is the active learning method. In this study, researchers took the title of the effectiveness of learning to write ad text using the active learning method. In this study, researchers used quantitative methods. The population in this study amounted to 25 students of class VIII. Based on the data obtained, the initial test results of the average student score of 42.76. As for the final test that has used a learning method, the average value of students is 75.32.
