Abstract

One effective strategy for developing language skills in early childhood is the use of storytelling methods, which can stimulate children's interest in beginning to read. Beginning reading is a foundational skill that supports the early stages of the reading process. To encourage this skill, engaging media that captures children's attention is essential—one example is the use of story card books. This study involved group A early childhood students and aimed to explore the use of story card book media in storytelling activities to improve beginning reading abilities. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. We collected data through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed it using data reduction and data display techniques. The results showed an improvement in children's beginning reading abilities after participating in storytelling activities using story card book media. After ten storytelling sessions, children's reading abilities improved significantly. At the first session, nine children were categorized as not yet developing, and one child was beginning to develop. By the eighth session, seven children were developing very well, one child was developing as expected, and two children were beginning to develop.

Abstract

This study, conducted on children in Group B at PAUD Al-Muhabbah in Bandung City, was motivated by the low level of children's creativity, which was attributed to monotonous learning activities that relied heavily on thematic books. To address this issue, creativity development must be approached differently. One of the strategies implemented at PAUD Al-Muhabbah involved the use of loose parts play to stimulate children's creativity. The objective of this study was to examine improvements in the creative abilities of Group B children through the application of loose parts play. A descriptive method with a qualitative approach was employed. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The study involved 10 children as research subjects. Data analysis followed a qualitative procedure, including data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that the use of loose parts of play effectively enhanced children's creativity. In the indicator of curiosity, children who were initially passive became more active in asking questions about topics they were interested in. For the indicator of form creation, children who initially appeared confused eventually became capable of producing various forms. Regarding independent creation, children who previously required assistance were later able to create their works without help from the teacher. These improvements were attributed to the children's enthusiasm and engagement during loose parts play activities.

Abstract

Language development in early childhood refers to the ability to listen, acquire vocabulary, communicate, and understand the use of symbols. However, some teachers still struggle to tell stories effectively. Therefore, teachers use hand puppets as engaging tools to enhance children's receptive language skills. This study aimed to examine the development of receptive language skills in children aged 5–6 years through the use of hand puppet media, employing a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects of this study were 10 children, consisting of seven girls and three boys. Data were collected through interviews and observations. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed a significant improvement in the children's receptive language skills, with no children remaining in the not-yet-developed category after participating in hand puppet activities. The learning process in Group B revealed that children demonstrated the ability to listen attentively, as seen in their correct responses to teacher questions and their ability to follow instructions, achieving a developing very well assessment.

Abstract

Pembelajaran literasi baca tulis penting diterapkan pada anak usia dini untuk mendorong kemampuan berpikir, mempertajam penalaran, memperluas pengetahuan dan pengalaman. Rendahnya kemampuan literasi baca tulis pada anak kelompok usia 4-5 tahun di TK Islam Asy-Syifa disebabkan karena kegiatan pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru, media yang digunakan kurang inovatif, pemilihan metode kurang menarik dan menyenangkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan literasi baca tulis anak dengan penerapan pembelajaran literasi baca tulis agar anak dapat mengenal berbagai macam lambang huruf melalui pemanfaatan media canva. Subjek penelitian adalah 12 anak berusia 4-5 tahun. Delapan anak laki-laki dan empat anak perempuan. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus dengan tiga pertemuan setiap siklusnya. mengumpulkan data dalam bentuk observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi dianalis menggunakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Adapun indikator keberhasilan yang ingin penulis capai dalam penelitian kali ini adalah sebesar 70 %,  menggunakan kriteria belum berkembang (1), mulai berkembang (2), berkembang sesuai harapan (3), berkembang sangat baik (4).  Hasil penelitian menunjukan kemampuan bahasa anak pratindakan sebesar 16%, pada siklus I pertemuan pertama meningkat sebesar 38%, pertemuan ketiga meningkat sebebesar 77 %. This research is motivated by the importance of Qur'an memorization skills in early childhood. Based on this, a method is needed to improve the developmental aspects of memorizing the Qur'an in children aged five to six years, one of which is the talaqqi method. The purpose of this study is to enhance children's ability to memorize the Qur'an through the talaqqi method at RA Attijiniyatil Usmaniyah Cimahi. This study employed a qualitative descriptive method. The subjects were 14 children from Group B at RA Attijiniyatil Usmaniyah Cimahi, comprising five boys and nine girls. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. Based on observations conducted over six meetings, there was an improvement in the children's memorization development. In the first and second meetings, the children were at the "Beginning to Develop" stage; in the third and fourth meetings, at the "Developing as Expected" stage; and in the fifth and sixth meetings, at the "Developing Very Well" (BSB) stage. These results indicate that the talaqqi method can improve the Qur'an memorization development of children aged five to six years.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masalah yang terjadi, yaitu kemampuan motorik halus anak yang harus distimulasi, terlihat dari kemampuan anak yang belum mampu memegang pensil dengan baik & tepat dan belum bisa mengkoordinasikan mata & tangannya dengan baik. Oleh karena itu diperlukan tindakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan motorik halus, maka peneliti menggunakan kegiatan mewarnai. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan motorik halus anak kelompok A di TK Tridaya melalui kegiatan mewarnai. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Kelas model Kemmis dan McTaggart. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi secara langsung. Analisis data yang menggunakan data kuantitatif yang dianalisis dengan cara kuantitatif sederhana, yaitu dengan menghitung persentase dan membuat grafik, dengan subjek penelitian terdiri dari 20 anak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian,kegiatan mewarnai dapat meningkatkan motorik halus anak. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil peningkatan capaian pada indikator memegang pensil dengan baik dan tepat sebanyak 90% Berkembang Sangat Baik dan 10% Berkembang Sesuai Harapan. Pada indikator mengkoordinasikan mata dan otot tangan, sebanyak 85% berkembang sangat baik dan 15% berkembang sesuai harapan.   This research is motivated by the problem that occurs, namely, the fine motor skills of children that must be stimulated, as seen from the inability of children who are not yet able to hold a pencil well & correctly and cannot coordinate their eyes & hands well. Therefore, action is needed to improve fine motor skills, so researchers use coloring activities. This study aims to enhance the fine motor skills of children in Group A at Tridaya Kindergarten through the use of coloring activities. This research method uses the Classroom Action Research model of Kemmis and McTaggart. Data collection techniques use direct observation. Data analysis uses quantitative data that is analyzed in a simple quantitative way, namely by calculating percentages and making graphs, with research subjects consisting of 20 children. Based on the results of the study, coloring activities can improve children's fine motor skills. This can be seen from the results of increased achievement in the indicator of holding a pencil well and correctly, with as much as 90% Developing Very Well and 10% Developing According to Expectations. In the indicator of coordinating the eyes and hand muscles, as many as 85% developed very well, and 15% developed as expected.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the fact that the early numeracy skills of children in Group A are still less than optimal, and teachers have not yet implemented enjoyable learning methods. Therefore, the researcher conducted a study on improving early numeracy skills through intriguing and enjoyable learning that can be repeated, one of which is the use of the number block method. The purpose of this study was to enhance early numeracy skills in children from Group A. This research used a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The subjects of the study were 15 group A children. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique used qualitative analysis, consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. Based on the results of the study, the use of Numberblocks media was able to improve children's early numeracy skills over the course of eight meetings. The results showed that eight children demonstrated very good development, 4 children developed as expected, and three children still required guidance from the teacher. During these activities, the children were able to meet four indicators of early numeracy skill development. These findings indicate that the use of number block media is effective in enhancing the early numeracy skills of group A children at Little Smart Kindergarten in Bandung City. Moreover, this approach can stimulate children's interest in thinking and encourage active participation in learning.

The low literacy skills of 4–5-year-old children at Asy-Syifa Islamic Kindergarten are due to teacher-centered learning activities, lack of innovative media, and unengaging teaching methods. This study aims to improve children's literacy by implementing literacy-based learning that enables children to recognize various letter symbols using Canva media. The subjects of this study were 12 children, aged 4–5 years, comprising eight boys and four girls. The method used was classroom action research conducted in two cycles, each consisting of three meetings. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive quantitative methods. The success indicator targeted in this study was 70%, based on the following criteria: Not Yet Developing (1), Beginning to Develop (2), Developing as Expected (3), and Developing Very Well (4). The results showed that children's language abilities in the pre-action stage were at 16%, increased to 38% in the first meeting of Cycle I, and reached 77% by the third meeting.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of parental involvement on social skills in early childhood education students in Bandung City (1). The research approach uses quantitative with a comparative study method that compares two groups of children based on their parental involvement (3). The sampling technique used is convenience sampling. This technique selects respondents who are easy to reach and willing to participate. This study involved 227 parents who assessed their involvement in their children's education through a self-report scale, and 34 early childhood education teachers who assessed their children's social skills through observation (2). The instruments used consisted of a parental involvement scale and an observation-based social skills scale. Data analysis used the Mann-Whitney U nonparametric statistical test to see differences in children's social skills based on the level of parental involvement. The results showed that there were significant differences in the social skills of early childhood education students between children with high and low parental involvement (5). Children with higher parental involvement tend to have better social skills. This topic is important to study considering the role of parents in early childhood education is a key factor in forming social skills that are important for children's development in the future

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi kemampuan berhitung awal anak kelompok A kurang optimal, selain itu guru juga belum menerapkan pembelajaran yang menyenangkan. Untuk itu peneliti melakukan penelitian tentang pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung awal  secara menarik dan menyenangkan serta dapat diberikan secara berulang-ulang,  salah satunya dengan melalui metode balok angka. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung awal pada anak kelompok A. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini anak kelompok A berjumlah 15 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian menggunakan analisis kualitatif yaitu reduksi data, display data, kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian pemanfaatan media balok angka dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung awal anak selama delapan kali pertemuan. Hasilnya delapan anak menunjukkan Berkembang Sangat Baik, empat anak Berkembang Sesuai Harapan serta tiga anak yang masih mendapat arahan dari guru. Dalam kegiatan tersebut anak sudah dapat memenuhi empat indikator pencapaian perkembangan kemampuan berhitung awal. Hasilnya melalui pemanfaatan media balok angka terbukti efektif dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berhitung awal anak kelompok A di Taman Kanak-kanak Little Smart Kota Bandung. Selain itu penelitian ini dapat menimbulkan ketertarikan anak untuk berpikir dan berpartisipasi aktif dalam pembelajaran. Abstract

Early childhood creativity can be developed through education. Education is a right and necessity for early childhood; however, some children have not yet had the opportunity to develop their creative skills through collage techniques. This method can help children enrich their imagination and generate creative ideas when making collages. The purpose of this study was to analyze early childhood creativity using the collage method. The research method employed was Classroom Action Research (CAR), with observation used as data collection techniques. The subjects of this study were 17 children in Group B at KB Nur Wafa. Data were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods. Based on the results, it can be concluded that collage activities using natural materials—such as leaves, flowers, and other organic items—provided children with opportunities to create various shapes and image variations, make their own art, and tell stories about their creations. The results also showed an increase in children's creativity: in the pre-cycle phase, 11.8% of children were categorized as “Developing as Expected” (BSH); in Cycle I, this increased to 23.5%, with 35.3% in the “Developing Very Well” category. In Cycle II, 58.8% of children were categorized as “Developing as Expected” and 23.5% as “Developing Very Well.”
