Abstract

This research is a quantitative research that aims to determine the effect of gender and learning models on students' mathematical reasoning abilities. The research was conducted at MTsS Madinatussalam Percut Sei Tuan using a quasi-experimental approach. This study involved students of grade VIII as participants selected through simple random sampling techniques. The research design used a 2×2 factorial with two independent variables, namely discovery learning and conventional learning models and gender. The subjects of the study were class VIII-1 totaling 32 students as the experimental class and class VIII-2 totaling 32 students as the control class. The instrument used was a validated mathematical reasoning ability essay test. Data analysis was carried out using the Two-Way ANOVA test. The results of the analysis showed that: there was an effect of gender on mathematical reasoning abilities, there was an effect of learning models on mathematical reasoning abilities, and there was no significant interaction between gender and learning models on students' mathematical reasoning abilities. Thus, both gender and learning model individually influence students' mathematical reasoning abilities, but there is no combined interaction effect between the two

Abstract

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze and describe the use of deductive reasoning and mathematical problem solving skills based on Adversity Quotient (AQ). The type of research used is qualitative descriptive research. The instruments in this study were deductive reasoning and problem solving ability test questions, and AQ questionnaires. The number of respondents in the study was 20 students. Respondents were divided into three types, namely Quitter, Camper, and Climber. The results showed that students with the Quitter type were only able to make calculations based on rules/formulas, but had not been able to draw conclusions and compile direct proof steps so that the problem solving indicators had not been achieved optimally. Students with the Camper type were able to make calculations based on rules or formulas, and were able to plan and implement plans in the problem solving aspect. Students with the Climber type were able to meet all indicators of deductive reasoning and problem solving in understanding problems, planning, implementing plans, and re-checking

Abstract

To examine the tendency of interactive media-based PJBL learning models in elementary schools today, the purpose of this study is to investigate the situation. This study adopts a methodology known as a literature review. The analysis of journals published between Sinta 6 and Sinta 1 is the research design. The findings of this research analysis come from journals published over the past five years on Google Scholar. There are twenty articles that seem worthy of further publication based on the analysis of article findings relevant to the keywords searched and then read in their entirety over the previous five years. The findings of the article examination, namely the interactive media-assisted PJBL learning model, have shown that it can improve the learning outcomes and creativity of elementary school students.

Abstract

The development of research-based tissue culture books is very necessary considering its limited availability. This study aims to provide a reference book on in vitro root induction of Dendrobium sp. orchids using several media. This development research uses a 4-D (Four-D) model in the development of reference books which are a product or innovation from a particular research result consisting of the stages of definition, design, development and dissemination. Data analysis was carried out using a Likert scale questionnaire to analyze material experts, learning design experts, layout design experts, lecturer responses, and student responses. The analysis used was quantitative and qualitative analysis. The validation results showed that the second material obtained a score of 87.79% with a very good category, validation of learning design experts obtained a score of 95.5%, validation of layout design experts obtained a score of 95%, lecturer responses obtained a score of 855, and student responses calculated from individual trials of 89.33% and small group trials of 91.11%. The N-Gain score test showed that the book could improve the cognitive learning outcomes of tissue culture students. It is determined that the tissue culture book based on research on root induction of Dendrobium sp. orchids with mixed media is possible and useful as a supporting book for learning tissue culture.

Abstract

Objective : Sustainability awareness has become an important topic in education, particularly in biology, where understanding ecosystems and human interactions with the environment is a major focus. This article reviews existing literature to explore how sustainability awareness contributes to biology education. This review aims to identify and analyze literature that addresses the role of sustainability awareness in improving students' understanding of biology concepts and promoting sustainable practices. Methods: Data was collected by searching literature sources for articles using specific criteria. Fifteen articles were synthesized in greater depth to answer the research questions. The results of this study state that the methodology and assessment tools influence the form and purpose of the research data to be achieved both qualitatively and quantitatively. In addition, the concepts in biological education are closely related to the environment so it is very important to ensure that future generations have a strong understanding of sustainability issues and can contribute to sustainable development in society with sustainability awareness to be able to achieve sustainable goals. Novelty: In increasing the contribution of sustainable development, it is necessary to facilitate interesting teaching materials and learning strategies in order to implement ESD. The learning process has an important role in supporting the improvement of a strong understanding of sustainability awareness. Can be done with a mixed method approach to make the research more comprehensive.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is: To determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of the metacognitive approach-based learning module in improving the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students at MTs Al Washliyah 16 Perbaungan, To analyze the answer process of students at Mts Al Washliyah 16 Perbaungan in solving mathematical problem-solving ability test questions. This research method uses the Four-D Thiagarajan development type of research, the sample of this study was at MTS AL Wasliyah 16 Perbaungan. The results of this study are: Design Based on the results of the research and discussion that have been carried out, it can be concluded that: The metacognitive-based mathematics learning module that has been developed has met the eligibility criteria in terms of material, appearance, interactivity, and ease of use. This eligibility is obtained based on the results of validation by material experts, media experts, as well as the results of limited trials and extensive trials conducted on students. This metacognitive web-based mathematics learning module has proven effective in improving students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. This is indicated by a significant increase in mathematical problem-solving ability scores after students used the developed learning module compared to before using the module.
