Abstract

This study aims to analyze the reading ability of students at Kak Seto School and determine the effectiveness of digital learning media in improving their reading skills. The study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design, focusing on three first-grade students at Kak Seto School who cannot read. Data is collected through observation, documentation, and interviews with teachers from the TIK (Technology of Information and Communication) department. The study's findings indicate that the students have a common problem: Sensory Processing Disorder, and that digital learning media can effectively improve their reading abilities. The research implications and limitations of the study are that it focuses only on three students at Kak Seto School, and the findings may not be generalizable to other schools or contexts. However, the study has practical implications for teachers, who must proactively introduce children to letters and train their learning abilities. The use of digital media can facilitate critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which are essential for academic success. The originality and value of this study lie in its contribution to understanding the role of digital learning media in improving reading abilities in children. The study provides important insights into the benefits of digital media in teaching and learning and highlights the need for further research. By utilizing digital media effectively, educators can help enhance the reading abilities of students struggling to learn in traditional classroom settings. Overall, this study has important implications for educators, policymakers, and parents interested in improving children's literacy rates.

Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the impact of the Upin Ipin animated film on the aggressive behavior of 5-6-year-old children at TK Dharma Wanita I Blitaran. This research employed a pretest-posttest control group design, and data were collected through observation sheets and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 24. The study revealed that the Upin Ipin animated film significantly influenced children's aggressive behavior. The research findings indicated that the experimental group experienced increased aggressive behavior. The average pretest score was 6.60, while the average posttest score was 7.90. The results of the hypothesis test using paired sample t-test showed a significant value of 0.000 < 0.05, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis (H0) and acceptance of the alternative view (Ha). The experimental group exhibited increased aggressive behavior after watching the film, as evidenced by the higher average posttest scores than the pretest scores. However, this study also acknowledges its limitations in scope, as it focused solely on 5-6-year-old children and the influence of a specific animated film. The research emphasizes the importance of parental guidance in children's media consumption. While animated films like Upin Ipin can potentially influence aggressive behavior, they can also serve as practical educational tools to promote positive social behavior and other essential skills, depending on their content and presentation. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on the influence of a specific animated film, Upin Ipin, on children's aggressive behavior.

Abstract

This scientific article investigates the potential of the game "Hide and Seek" in promoting children's social skills. While past research has extensively examined other facets of child development, the impact of "Hide and Seek" on children's social development remains underexplored and vaguely defined. Thus, this study aims to fill this knowledge gap. The research uses a quantitative experimental method, employing a "Pre-Experimental One Group Pretest Post-test Design" without a control group. A non-probability sampling technique with a saturated sample type is used. Findings reveal that "Hide and Seek" significantly enhances social skills among children at TK Al-Fadlilah, Yogyakarta, with teachers serving as essential facilitators in this process. Data analysis demonstrates a significant increase in social skills, represented by a Wilcoxon test score of 0.000, under the 0.05 threshold. However, the limitations of this study include a relatively small sample size and a single educational setting, restricting the generalization of the results. Future research involving larger, diverse samples and a focus on understanding the best ways "Hide and Seek" and similar activities can support early childhood social development is strongly recommended.
