Abstract

One of the combinations of Javanese traditions with Islamic teachings is the Suroan tradition.  Suroan is an activity that is often carried out by ancestors to pray to avoid anger, danger, plague, disease and others, of course there are Islamic educational values in it. This study aims to determine the implementation of the Suroan tradition and analyze the values of Islamic education in the Suroan tradition in Sumberejo Village, Pagar Merbau District, Deli Serdang Regency. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method with a qualitative descriptive approach. The data collection techniques used in this study used observation, interview and documentation analysis techniques. The results of this study found the existence of Islamic education values in every activity of the Suroan tradition which cannot be separated from the main points of Islamic education values, namely the value of Akidah, Ibadah and Akhlak education. This research is recommended to the community so that they can maintain traditions, especially the Suroan tradition, especially the Javanese community, so that these traditions do not disappear as the times develop

Abstract

Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada pentingnya pengajaran agama yang relevan dengan konteks budaya lokal, guna memperkuat identitas kultural dan spiritual peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi strategi integrasi antara pembelajaran Agama Islam dan kearifan lokal dalam kurikulum Sekolah Dasar di Kecamatan Luwuk. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan pendekatan studi kasus yang melibatkan observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi kearifan lokal dalam pembelajaran Agama Islam mampu meningkatkan pemahaman siswa terhadap nilai-nilai agama dan budaya lokal secara holistik. Kesimpulannya, strategi ini efektif dalam menciptakan kurikulum yang kontekstual dan berkelanjutan, yang tidak hanya memperkaya pengetahuan agama tetapi juga melestarikan kearifan lokal.

Abstract

Educational management that is currently developing contains many crucial problems so that a reflection of ideal educational management is needed. This research aims to find out and understand how education was managed during the time of the Prophet to the Rasyidin Khulafau; and its application in the current era. The method used in this research is a qualitative method. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques were obtained through interviews and documentation analysis which was not measured by numbers. This research was carried out over a period of 6 months; starting from January 2024 to June 2024. The subjects of this research include students, lecturers and religious figures. Data analysis techniques use the Miles & Huberman model; includes data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The data validity technique used in this research is the triangulation technique.  The results of this research are that someone who is in charge of education must have the characteristics of analyzing, planning, problem solving, predicting.  Apart from that, you must also have good management characteristics, measurable targets, optimal processes and appropriate targets. The managerial reflection of the Prophet's time has been continued into the current millennial era; such as only a leader must have a good personality, understand the concept of Islamic education management, understand management strategies, have long-term Islamic education planning, have a strong determination in managing human resources, have the attitude of an educational organizer, have the qualities of a leader and education supervisor.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas mengenai Nilai-Nilai Pendidikan Islam Dalam Tradisi Adat Barenti Lako Sara’, Sara’ Barenti Lako Kitabullah Masyarakat Ngeru-Sumbawa. Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh perhatian penulis terhadap adanya tantangan modernisasi dan globalisasi yang berkembang pesat di tengah masyarakat Sumbawa. Adapun nilai pendidikan Islam tersebut di antaranya nilai Kerik Salamat Tau Ke Tana Samawa Katakit Ko Nene’ Kangila Boat Lenge, To’ Ke ‘Ila, Satemung Pamendi Ke Panyadu, Paboat Aji, Balong Pikir Balong Ate Teleko, Riam Remo Senap Semu Nyaman Nyawe, Bau Marua Dengan Bau Batempu Ke Dengan, Kameri Kamore Saling Sanyaman Ate, Balong Bakalako, Sabalong Samalewa, Lenge Rasa, dan Mana Tau Barang Kayu, Lamin To Sanyaman Ate, Banan Si Sanak Paranajenis penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif yang menggunakan pendekatan etnografi. Pemerolehan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, serta dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan. Dari hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa masyarakat Ngeru-Sumbawa masih sangat memegang teguh pada tradisi Adat Barenti Lako Sara’, Sara’ Barenti Lako Kitabullah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Nilai-nilai tersebut tampak dalam beragam aspek kehidupan masyarakat Sumbawa mulai dari pola interaksi sosial, sistem pemerintahan adat, hingga dalam upacara adat dan ritual keagamaan

Abstract

Language stigma against Arabic can create a challenging environment for speakers, which in turn can reduce their confidence in various aspects of daily life. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing low self-confidence in speaking Arabic in Indonesia, particularly among students, and to identify the negative stigma attached to Arabic language learning and its impact on motivation and participation in using Arabic. The research method employed is field research with a descriptive qualitative approach, where data was collected through direct observation and interviews with non-native Arabic-speaking university students. The findings reveal that stigma surrounding the Arabic language, such as the perception of Arabic as only a religious language, being considered an ancient and irrelevant language, and the difficulties in pronunciation and grammar, contribute to low self-confidence in speaking Arabic. The study also found that the general public’s lack of understanding of the importance of Arabic and the lack of support for Arabic education outside Islamic educational institutions exacerbates the issue. To address this stigma, the study recommends raising awareness about the significance of Arabic through positive media campaigns, encouraging the use of Arabic in various sectors, and creating a supportive environment for Arabic speakers to practice without the fear of judgment. These efforts are expected to improve the self-confidence of Arabic speakers and foster the development of speaking skills in Arabic in Indonesia

Abstract

The use of storytelling or habituation techniques in Islamic early childhood education (PAUD), especially in institutions such as PAUD Al Hasanah Luwuk, is still fairly minimal. This study aims to analyse the application of Islamic education in developing noble morals in early childhood at PAUD Al Hasanah Luwuk. The scope of the study includes aspects of teaching morals based on Islamic teachings through learning methods applied in these educational institutions. The purpose of this research is to find out how Islamic education is applied in shaping children's noble character and morals, as well as to evaluate its impact on their moral development. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with a case study type. Data collection was conducted through direct observation, interviews with educators and parents, as well as documentation of activities conducted at PAUD Al Hasanah Luwuk. The results showed that Islamic education at PAUD Al Hasanah Luwuk includes teaching about moral values contained in Islamic teachings, such as discipline, compassion, honesty, and courtesy. The use of storytelling methods, joint prayers, and daily activities based on Islamic values proved effective in developing noble morals in early childhood. The conclusion of this study is that the consistent implementation of Islamic education can play an important role in shaping the noble morals of early childhood, which will have a positive impact on their moral development in the future

Abstract

Learning Islamic Religious Education Thaharah material at the MTs level is a concern in the formation of a daily clean living culture. The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of Thaharah material in shaping the clean living culture of students at MTs Negeri 1, for qualitative descriptive research penis. Data collection techniques interviews, observation and documentation. The research findings are: (1) Learning thaharah material at MTsN 1 Malra and MTs Raudah Tual City has similarities and runs well and effectively. Teachers in both schools use the lecture and practice methods in explaining thaharah material. The lecture method is used to explain the basic concepts of thaharah, while practice is used to ensure students can directly practice the procedures for purification such as ablution and ghusl correctly. Both methods proved effective in delivering the thaharah material to the students; (2) The thaharah material had a positive effect on the cleanliness culture of the students in both schools, as reflected in the cleanliness of the school environment and the students' personal hygiene. During the observation, it was found that the students had clean clothes, neat haircuts, and clean nails, indicating that students' awareness to maintain cleanliness is not only triggered by the existing rules, but also by the religious values that have been internalized in them. Cleanliness has become part of students' character and personal identity, reflecting the strong influence of the thaharah material taught at school. Thus, it can be concluded that the thaharah material not only succeeds in teaching students the correct way to purify themselves, but also plays an important role in fostering awareness of the importance of cleanliness.

Abstract

The importance of effective Qur'anic reading instruction in shaping students' religious understanding and literacy skills. This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of Qur'anic learning methods in improving students' reading skills at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Banggai. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental design to measure the effect of learning methods on improving the ability to read the Qur'an. The research subjects were 4th grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Banggai consisting of 30 students, which were divided into two groups, namely the experimental group and the control group. Data collection methods used Al-Qur'an reading tests before and after treatment, as well as observation of the learning process applied. The learning methods used in this study were the iqra' and tahsin methods which focused on improving the technique of reading and pronouncing the hijaiyah letters correctly. The collected data were analysed using paired sample t-test to determine the significant difference between the test scores before and after treatment. The results showed a significant improvement in students' Qur'an reading ability after the implementation of the intended learning method. The average student test score increased from 60 to 85 after the application of the method. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the Qur'anic learning method used in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negeri 1 Banggai is effective in improving students' reading ability

Abstract

The Ayyubid Dynasty, established by Salahuddin al-Ayyubi, played a significant role in Islamic history through complex socio-political transformations. Salahuddin faced substantial challenges in replacing the influence of the Fatimid Dynasty and Shia doctrine with Ahlusunnah Waljamaah as the official state doctrine. To achieve this goal, he implemented reforms in education, politics, and the military, including transforming Al-Azhar University into a Sunni educational center and establishing Sunni-based madrasas in Egypt. This study employs a qualitative approach with content analysis, examining books, journals, and historical documents to explore Salahuddin's leadership strategies. The findings reveal that Salahuddin successfully strengthened Ahlusunnah Waljamaah through the establishment of educational institutions, the appointment of Sunni scholars, and political and structural reforms that promoted socio-political stability. In the socio-cultural domain, he supported the formation of public institutions, such as hospitals, and encouraged cultural dialogue during the Crusades. This analysis underscores that Salahuddin's success was not limited to his military achievements but also included the socio-religious transformations that reinforced political stability and legitimacy. The study highlights the relevance of Salahuddin's strategies in building an inclusive and sustainable Islamic civilization, making his legacy a model for leadership focused on advancing civilization. These findings demonstrate the importance of synergy between religious vision and structural reforms in creating sustainable socio-political stability, offering significant contributions to contemporary Islamic leadership discourse.
