Abstract

This research aims to describe and analyze the shift in the meaning of the Umrah pilgrimage from fardiyah da'wah (religious ritual) to a lifestyle in middle and upper class communities in urban areas. The type of research used is qualitative research with a case study approach, while data was obtained from interviews with urban residents at Perum Griya Bhakti Praja who had carried out the Umrah pilgrimage, observation and documentation. This study produced several findings including: first, the culture of urban society in Perum Griya Bhakti Praja is heavily influenced by the development of new culture, habits, fashion and technology. Second, the lifestyle of urban communities in Perum Griya Bhakti Praja includes a hedonistic lifestyle and having a contemporary appearance to look modern, internet literate, doing things that are currently trendy, and social mobility, one of which is the trend of worship. Umrah. Third, there are three aspects of the form of commodification that occur, namely the religious ritual aspect which turns into a lifestyle need. The Godly aspect which turns into the fulfillment of existence, and the afterlife aspect which turns into worldly life and business.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the level of religious tolerance in public religious universities in Indonesia, especially in the Central Indonesia region, and to understand the factors that influence students' tolerant attitudes. A mixed methods approach was used in this study, which involved collecting quantitative data through a Likert-scale questionnaire and qualitative data through Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) in several Islamic, Christian, and Hindu faith-based universities. Quantitative data were analyzed using quantitative descriptive statistical tests, while qualitative data were analyzed using interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) to explore students' experiences in implementing religious tolerance.The results showed that the level of religious tolerance in state religious universities tends to be stable, with the dimension of reasonableness (ability to think logically) showing the highest value, followed by the dimensions of empathy and fairness. Female students tend to have higher tolerance potential, and the experience of interacting with people of other religions has a significant effect on increasing tolerance. However, the lack of space for interfaith encounters in the campus environment is an obstacle to the real application of the concept of tolerance.

Abstract

The societal stigma towards HIV/AIDS is not only directed at people living with HIV/AIDS (ODHA) but also towards their families. The stigma indirectly affects every aspect of family life and the relationships within it. This research aims to understand the impact of HIV/AIDS stigma on the families of PLWHA, and what the church has done regarding that stigma, then to design a pastoral theology that culminates in pastoral accompaniment actions for the families of PLWHA. In this study, the author uses Richard Osmer's practical theology method. The research results show that the stigma directed at families of PLWHA affects their lives and the relationships between each family member, which indirectly impacts the roles and functions of PLWHA families. Additionally, it is known that there has not yet been any pastoral care specifically aimed at PLWHA families. Pastoral care for PLWHA families should be based on the values of solidarity and brotherhood to fight alongside PLWHA families. The church must become an inclusive church to continue supporting PLWHA and their families.

Abstract

This article aims to construct 'the spirituality of service' for the servants, more specifically in regards to the service to children through Sunday school. Therefore, this writing will talk about the meaning of serving with heart. The principles of serving with heart are to be the foundation of the spirituality of service itself. It is a great hope that through the effort of building a spirituality of service that there will be a change of perspective towards serving, that it is no longer a mere routine or obligation, but more than that is an act of faith, an exercise of spirituality, and an act of spirituality to live out in daily life.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the impact of using Smart TV digital media in learning Islamic Cultural History (SKI) at MAN 2 Karanganyar, to explore how Smart TV can improve students' engagement, material understanding, and discussion skills. In addition, this study aims to determine the extent to which the use of Smart TV can improve the overall quality of learning in the school. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method with triangulation techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation with the subjects of students, teachers, vice principal for curriculum, and principal of MAN 2 Karanganyar. The results of this study are Smart TV in learning Islamic Cultural History (SKI) at MAN 2 Karanganyar has a significant positive impact, increasing student involvement, facilitating understanding of complex material, and reducing boredom in conventional learning. Through learning with interactive media such as videos, animations, and presentations allows students to learn in a more interesting and varied way.

Abstract

Education plays an important role in improving the quality of learners, focusing on developing self-confidence and responsibility through khitobah activities. This activity helps students overcome shyness, improve their public speaking skills, and foster an attitude of responsibility towards their duties. At MAN 2 Karanganyar, khitobah is implemented to form a generation that is qualified and able to compete in society with Islamic values. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that through khitobah, students develop public speaking, time management, and organizational skills, as well as learn to take responsibility and express themselves confidently. This activity not only builds communication and leadership skills, but also encourages social awareness, preparing students to apply religious values in daily life and contribute positively to society. The initiative has successfully attracted increased student participation, creating an environment that supports personal growth and skill development.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to uncover the strengths of the local wisdom concept in the Ohoidertawun community, which can serve as a model for Kei society in particular and Maluku in general. This research employs a qualitative method to examine various phenomena in Ohoidertawun. The study is conducted in Ohoidertawun Village (Ohoi), Kei-Kecil District, Southeast Maluku Regency. The main reason for choosing Ohoidertawun as the research site is its harmonious social relationships despite the community's diversity in social strata and religion, which remained intact even during the Maluku conflict. The study finds that the understanding of local wisdom (Larvul Ngabal and Ain Ni Ain) remains well-preserved in Ohoidertawun, effectively influencing the community's social life. Sasi, as a form of local wisdom, plays a crucial role in managing natural resources in Ohoidertawun. Additionally, local leaders play a significant role in maintaining social cohesion within the diverse community. This local wisdom strengthens the development of economic and tourism potentials in Ohoidertawun.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the existence of Sorong Diaspora Christian Theological High School as a role model in implementing the principles of religious moderation. This research uses a qualitative method. The results showed that Sorong Diaspora Christian Theological High School emphasized its role as a role model for the application of religious moderation values in schools. This can be shown in the form of an educational curriculum that emphasizes the values of religious moderation such as: emphasis on tolerance, respect for diversity, and a contextual approach in biblical interpretation, development of open attitudes, dialogue, and understanding of human rights and religious freedom, integration of religious moderation values, national commitment, non-violence, and accommodating local culture in the curriculum. Then in the form of the exemplary role of teachers in schools in shaping students as prospective moderate religious leaders. Next is in the form of cooperation with the local government and other institutions that can support the creation of a program to implement the values of religious moderation. By teaching the principles of religious moderation, this school contributes to creating an atmosphere of harmony and peace in Sorong Regency which has religious and cultural diversity.

Abstract

Religious moderation is the key to the emergence of balance for the maintenance of civilisation that creates peace, so it is necessary to instill the values of religious moderation to students, including through textbooks. The data source of this research is the textbook of al-Qur'an hadis class XI Madrasah Aliyah published by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia in 2000. The research method used in this study uses the library research method, which is research based on processed manuscripts (manuscript studies), facts and primary and secondary data (supporting data) related to the focus of research. The results of this study indicate that nine values of religious moderation namely tawasuth, i'tidal, tasamuh, shura, ishlah, qudwah, muwathanah, al-la'unf and i'tiraf al-'urf have been contained in the textbook, although the number of distribution of these values has not been evenly distributed. This research can be useful in fostering the values of religious moderation in students by using the reference of Al-Qur'an Hadith textbooks properly, so that students are able to apply and appreciate the value of religious moderation effectively.

Abstract

This research aims to develop gamification-based interactive multimedia for Buddhist Religious Education subject for ninth-grade junior high school students. The research method employed Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model through the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Research results showed that the developed interactive multimedia has excellent quality (average score of 4.2 or 84%) based on validation by material and media experts. Product implementation demonstrated increased student interest, engagement, and learning motivation. This gamification-based interactive multimedia can be utilized as an innovative learning medium for teachers and students in Buddhist Religious Education subject.
