Abstract

The Indonesian online gaming industry is growing rapidly. The increasing number of online game players among teenagers can cause various health impacts, one of them being carpal tunnel syndrome. This research aims to determine the relationship between online gaming habits with carpal tunnel syndrome in high school students in Jakarta. This research is an observational study with a cross-sectional design and a total of 62 samples. Questionnaires used in data collection include  playing habits, respondent knowledge, and the Boston Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Questionnaire (BCTSQ). The collected data was analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed  a relationship between playing duration (p=0.042), playing frequency (p=0.026), and repetitive movements (p=0.026) with complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. On the other hand, there was no significant relationship between gender (p=0.523), game type (p=1.00), gaming device (p=0.287), and knowledge (p=0.744) with complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. It would be better if the school provided further education to students and parents about the dangers of prolonged game duration and reminded them to regulate game-playing hours for students to avoid complaints of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Abstract

Scabies are a global health problem that affects millions of people around the world, especially those living in densely populated and underprivileged areas. Rumak Village, located in a rural area, is no exception to this problem. Where people often live in crowded conditions, making the transmission of scabies easier. This study aims to analyze the determinants of scabies transmission. This study employed a cross-sectional design to examine the prevention behaviors employed by individuals in Rumak Village to avoid the transmission of scabies, totaling 483 families conducted from January to July 2023. Data collection was done using questionnaires, and data analysis was done using Chi-Square, with a p-value of 0.05 with a 95% confidence interval. The results showed a significant association between hand washing practices, home environmental hygiene, sharing items, and bathing practices with the incidence of scabies in the community, with a p-value of 0.000. Families who do not regularly wash their hands, have less clean environmental conditions, often practice sharing personal items, and bathe 1 time/day have a risk of suffering from scabies in Rumak Village.  Keywords: Determinants, prevalence, scabies

Abstract

Administrative workers have the potential to experience work fatigue. Fatigue conditions among workers can affect work productivity and can even cause health problems. Work fatigue can be characterized by decreased reaction time. The longer the reaction time indicates that a worker is getting higher fatigue level. Dhikr is a religious activity that can create peace of mind and encourage the muscles in the body to relax. A relaxed body condition will help workers not experience excessive fatigue. This research is a descriptive analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The sample was taken using simple random sampling as many as 70 administrative workers in higher educational institution. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of the dhikr behaviour intensity on the level of work fatigue. The results of the research show that the intensity of the dhikr behaviour does not affect the level of work fatigue among administrative workers in higher education.

Abstract

Nursing staff is a priority in providing services to patients. If the number of nurses and patients is not balanced, this will result in workload problems and the lack of staff will result in less than optimal service to patients. In this study, the method used to calculate staffing needs was WISN (Workload Indicators of Staffing Need) for Mekkah inpatient nurses (adult inpatients). The WISN method has five stages: finding available work time, finding work units and human resources categories, making work load standards, making allowance standards, and calculating labor requirements for each work unit. The aim is to analyze the need for nursing staff based on the workload in the Mekkah inpatient unit (adult inpatient unit). The time motion study method is to be able to understand more deeply the phenomena that occur and are felt by the informants through observations and interviews. The results of research on staff requirements using the WISN method were 35 nurses with real conditions of 20 nurses so there was a shortage of 10 nurses.

Abstract

Adolescents, as human resources assets of a country, are vulnerable to health and nutrition problems, one of which is overweight. The prevalence of overweight in teenagers increases every year. Overweight during adolescence can increase the risk of non-communicable diseases and musculoskeletal disorders. Female adolescents are the key to the chain of life because they will become mothers in the future and pass on genetics to their descendants. Behaviour, lifestyle, nutritional adequacy, and sleep habits are determinants of adolescent overweight. This study aimed to examine the differences in body image and physical activity between overweight and non-overweight adolescent groups. The research design was a case-control study with 160 respondents aged 15-17 years in the city of Jambi in May 2023. Sample selection used a multistage sampling technique with inclusion criteria. BSQ and IPAQ are questionnaire scales used to measure individual body image and physical activity. Statistical tests used the Mann-Whitney test and Chi-Square. The Mann-Whitney test shows a difference in body image between overweight and non-overweight adolescents (p<0.05). However, there is no difference in physical activity between overweight and non-overweight adolescents. There is a significant relationship between body image and physical activity with overweight (p<0.05). Overweight adolescents have a negative body image; it is hoped that adolescents will exercise regularly and pay attention to their diet by consuming more nutritious and healthy foods.  Keywords: Adolescent, body image, overweight, physical activity

Abstract

ABSTRACT   Pesticide use in agriculture is essential for controlling pests and diseases; however, overuse often results in environmental contamination and health issues. This study explores the presence of pesticide residues in vegetables from Palangka Raya. The overuse of pesticides—whether in type, amount, frequency, or dosage—contaminates crops and poses risks to humans through inhalation and ingestion. Analytical observational research was conducted, using purposive sampling to collect vegetable samples. These samples were analyzed qualitatively with a pesticide detection kit, and the results were correlated with pesticide use on the farms. Data analysis was performed using McNemar's non-parametric test. The results revealed that 20% of the vegetable samples contained pesticide residues. These residues were significantly associated with a spraying frequency of more than twice per week (p = 0.016) and improper pesticide dosage (p = 0.039). This study underscores the impact of pesticide application practices on residue levels in vegetables, emphasizing the need for regulated use to minimize health risks.  Keywords: Residue; Pesticide; Vegetables; Agriculture;

Abstract

Through interpersonal communication, health workers can explain and communicate directly with patients and can see the patient's level of understanding of the disease. In the HIV screening test process, after the patient has completed all stages of the examination, patients who test positive for HIV/AIDS will be transferred to the infectious disease polyclinic to convey the results of the examination, and health workers will explore information related to the cause or history of the patient's healthy lifestyle behavior. The research subjects are informants or sources who are related to those being studied in order to obtain information related to research data. The subjects or informants of this study are patients who are confirmed positive for HIV/AIDS. In a condition when someone is diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, in this case the patient tends to be passive and still tries to accept that the diagnosis is positive for HIV/AIDS. However, health workers approach by communicating and showing an assertive attitude, empathy, providing motivation and complete explanation. With health workers approaching in this way, it turns out that they are able to make patients more open and accept the situation. This also shows a level of compliance with HIV/AIDS care.
