Abstract

In 2019, the prevalence of stunting was 3.91 percent. In 2020, the prevalence of stunting was 3.72 percent, and will grow to 3.93% in 2021. The prevalence in February of 2022 is 2.60%. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors of feeding patterns for stunting in toddlers aged 24-59 month at Karanganyar I Public Health Center, Demak Regency. This study uses a cross-sectional, quantitative, analytic observational design. Mothers of children aged 24-59 months make up the research sample using the Total Sampling technique. Collecting data using primary, secondary data, interviews with respondents using questionnaire on the factors of feeding patterns which have been tested for validity and reliability. The logistic regression test and the chi square correlation test can be used to determine the relationship between independent and dependent variables and their risk factors. Most mothers of toddlers with stunting have inappropriate eating habits (type, amount, and schedule). Knowledge, education, profession, income, and technology all have relationship with one another (p value 0.05). Knowledge has the greatest impact on incidence stunting, with a p value of 0.015 OR 11.182; (95% CI 1.613 - 77.529). In the working area of the Karanganyar I Public Health Center, Demak Regency, the majority of mothers with toddlers stunting have knowledge about feeding patterns that still need to be improved. The feeding pattern (type, amount, and schedule) used by the mother to meet her toddler's nutritional demands will be more appropriate the greater the mother's knowledge, educational background, employment status, family income, and technological used.

Abstract

Stroke is a major health problem that can lead to disability and death with a higher incidence of non-hemorrhagic stroke compared to haemorrhagic stroke. Stroke often leaves sequelae that cause the patient's condition is not the same as before with the most common problem in the form of muscle weakness that affects the patient's activity of daily living. Efforts can be made to reduce the impact of stroke by increasing healthy behaviour which can be seen in the health belief model theory, one of which is in the aspect of perceived severity. This study was conducted to determine the effect of perceived severity on the activity of daily living of patients after non-hemorrhagic stroke. The method used was analytical observational with a cross sectional approach with a sample of 80 respondents who met the inclusion criteria at KRMT Wongsonegoro Hospital Semarang using the Consecutive Sampling technique. Data were collected using a questionnaire instrument which was then tested using Spearman rank with the help of computer software. The majority of respondents had a high level of perceived severity at 58 respondents (72.5%) and independent activity of daily living results at 32 respondents (40%). The results of the bivariate test between perceived severity and activity of daily living obtained p value 0.000. There is a significant influence between perceived severity on the activity of daily living of post-stroke non haemorrhagic patients (p value 0.000).

Abstract

In the elderly, as age increases, there will of course be a decline in organs and body functions which can disrupt daily activities. This can be caused by the aging process, one of which is characterized by a decline in cognitive function. One of the declines in cognitive function in the elderly is memory loss. Memory decline can be prevented with spiritual activities, one of which is the midnight prayer. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the frequency of midnight prayers and memory in the elderly in the Brebes Regency. This research method is quantitative analytical observational using a cross-sectional design. The research subjects were elderly people in RT 002/RW 004 Dukuhturi Village, Bumiayu District, Brebes Regency. The total sample that met the inclusion criteria was 35 respondents. The research was carried out in February 2024. The measuring instruments used were the Tahajud prayer questionnaire and the digit span questionnaire. The analytical test used in this research is the chi-square test. The results of the chi-square test showed a p-value of 0.004 (< 0.05), which means that there is a relationship between the frequency of midnight prayers and memory in the elderly in the Brebes Regency. Abstract

Background: Children's main stresses during hospitalization are separation from family, trauma, pain, and the hospital environment itself, which is unfamiliar to them. Atraumatic care is therapeutic care provided through interventions that eliminate or reduce the psychological and physical distress experienced by children and families. The elements impacting nurses' abilities to provide atraumatic care in hospitals are based on person-centered perceptions, knowledge, beliefs, intentions, and attitudes for the outcomes of rational behavior in children with acute illness. Pediatric nurses must provide care on a foundation of atraumatic care.Aim: This study was to explore nurses' knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding atraumatic care for hospitalized children.Method: The setting of this study is K.R.M.T. Wongsonegoro Regional General Hospital. This study used a cross-sectional and descriptive correlation method, and it observed how nurses implemented atraumatic care. The study sample consisted of 117 nurses, with 70 of them (45 in two pediatric wards and 25 in the PICU) observing their clinical practice. A 25 items Nurses' Practice Scale for Atraumatic Care was used to observe the behaviors of 45 nurses in pediatric wards and 25 nurses in the PICU at work. Results: The post hoc test revealed that nurses in the ER (13.022.71) had significantly greater knowledge in providing atraumatic care. Post hoc comparisons using the Tukey HSD comparison test revealed that nurses in the pediatric ward (99.959.02) had a significantly better attitude toward providing atraumatic care than nurses in the PICU (89.618) and ER (95.948.91). Nurses who were single showed significantly higher attitudes than nurses who were married (z = 1.80, p = 0.04). The Mann-Whitney Test showed that nurses who were working in the pediatric wards (z = -2.80, p = 0.021), female (z = -4.62, p<0.001), and married (z = -2.27, p = 0.02) had significantly practice scores in providing atraumatic care than those who were working in the PICU, male, and single. The Spearman Rank Correlation analysis revealed significant correlations (p-value<0.005) that the more the nurse's knowledge in providing atraumatic care to hospitalized children, the better attitude in providing atraumatic care to hospitalized children, and the more practice in providing atraumatic care. Conclusion: As a result, in order to offer optimal care to hospitalized children, the hospital must provide atraumatic care training for nurses as well as standard operational processes that can assist nurses in implementing atraumatic care and minimizing the impact on hospitalized children.

Abstract

Socio-cultural factors can have a significant impact on the occurrence of stunting in children. Mothers with limited health literacy may need help comprehending the nuances of nutrition and malnutrition in children. This can lead to inadequate nutrition for their children, resulting in stunting. Unfortunately, a shortage of literature thoroughly explains the connection between health-seeking behavior theory and child stunting. This study entails a comprehensive narrative review that delves into the correlation between maternal health literacy, culture, and health-seeking behavior, particularly about child stunting. The CINAHL, PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases were searched for published papers from 2009 to 2023. The search terms were maternal health literacy, culture, health-seeking behavior, and children with stunting or malnutrition. A comprehensive conceptual model can provide invaluable guidance for innovative research on caring for stunted children in rural areas. By amalgamating the concepts of culture and healing-seeking behavior with maternal health literacy, a more nuanced understanding of the problem of child stunting can be achieved. This can lead to the development of complementary and supportive interventions to improve maternal health literacy. Therefore, we should explore the potential benefits of such a model in our research endeavors.
