Abstract

Perbedaan fungsi gender menjadi pokok permasalahan yang digarap dalam karya tari “Rectoverso Keterbolakbalikan” ini, yaitu ketika peran fungsi gender mengalami ketimpangan yang mengakibatkan si pelaku menjadi perempuan maskulin dan laki-laki feminim. Laki-laki biasanya digambarkan dengan kemaskulinan atau kejantanan, perempuan biasanya digambarkan dengan kefeminiman, namun apabila konsep kedua tersebut saling dipertukarkan akan menjadi suatu permasalahan diri pribadi bagi si pelaku yang menderita hal tersebut. Adapun ketimpangan tersebut, menyebabkan si pelaku akan merasakan beberapa konflik yang terjadi dalam dirinya dalam menentukan identitasnya sehingga menyebabkan perbedaan karakter yang berbeda antara fisik atau tubuh dengan tingkah laku yang dijalaninya.Dalam garapan karya tari “Rectoverso Keterbolakbalikan” ini, penggambaran perempuan yang maskulin dan laki-laki yang feminim  diusung sisi kehidupan lain dari sosok laki-laki dan perempuan. Laki-laki tidak hanya berperan sebagai sosok yang maskulin saja, sebaliknya perempuan tidak hanya feminim saja, tetapi dapat dipertukarkan dalam jangka waktu tertentu. Proses kehidupan berdampak besar pada prilaku seseorang dalam menentukan jati dirinya. Apabila semua itu bisa dipertukarkan kembali, si penderita akan meminta untuk menjadi laki-laki yang diganbarkan maskulin dan perempuan digambarkan feminim.Karya tari “Rectoverso Keterbolakbalikan” ini berbentuk murni yang menampilkan beberapa cuplikan peristiwa atau adegan. Adapun metode yang dipakai dalam menciptakan karya tari ini ialah berdasarkan tahapan eksplorasi, improvisasi, dan tahap pembentukan yang dapat menghasilkan sebuah karya tari semi kontemporer dalam bentuk sajian murni. Kata Kunci: rectoverso, keterbolakbalikan, tari, kontemporer

Abstract

HOS Tjokroaminoto is one of national heroes known as Guru Bangsa (Teacher of the Nation). Tjokroaminoto gets this title as he and his thought inspire Indonesian political figures. Tjokroaminoto is the only person in the beginning of 20th century who vocally and bluntly stated that Indies (Indonesia) had to establish its own governance. It is then termed the independence. Independence can be realized with the awareness of national consciousness in the national level, not in local level anymore.The movie entitled Guru Bangsa HOS Tjokroaminoto tells about the history reflecting one of Indonesian national figures, Tjokroaminoto. This movie tells about Tjokroaminoto as the main figure driving the nationalism and describes the history of Indonesia. The interesting aspects from this movie are the nationalism values described on Tjokroaminoto. In this research, the researcher analyze the movie entitled Guru Bangsa HOS Tjokroaminoto with historical literature approach in order to reveal the nationalism thought of Tjokroaminoto and behavior supporting his thought. This research is expected to raise the nationalism awareness in the recent young generation of Indonesia. Based on the research result, there are four main facts about the nationalism in Tjokroaminoto in the movie entitled Guru Bangsa HOS Tjokroaminoto. These historical facts are nationalism thought and behavior of Tjokroaminoto based on four factors of nationalism according to Hertz (1958), (1) Desire to achieve the unity (in 1912, Tjokroaminoto joined Sarekat Islam/Islamic Union), (2) Desire to achieve the independence (in 1905 Tjokroaminoto retired from his job as clerk), (3) Desire to achieve independence, superiority, authenticity, and distinctiveness by wearing blangkon and jarik (cloth) as the nationalism symbol and by wearing suit and bowties to show the equality with foreign nation in terms of thought, (4) Desire to catch up the honor of nation with the progressive idea of Tjokroaminoto, compulsory education for 15 years.

Abstract

Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) disebut pendekatan kontektual karena mengaitkan antara materi yang diajarkan dengan situasi dunia nyata pembelajar dan mendorong pembelajar membuat hubungan antara pengetahuan yang dimilikinya dengan penerapannya dalam kehidupan mereka sebagai anggota masyarakat. Pendekatan kontekstual meliputi tujuh komponen utama yaitu, konstruktivisme (constructivism), bertanya (questioning), menemukan (inquiry), masyarakat belajar (learning community), pemodelan (modeling), refleksi (reflection), dan penilaian yang sebenarnya (authentic assessment).

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the human  sintonik ego problem with homosexual acts, especially the figure in modern Indonesian novel.  The data source  is novel Saman dan Larung by Ayu Utami, Nayla by Djenar Maesa Ayu, Dadaisme by Dewi Sartika, Tabula Rasa by Ratih Kumala, Lelaki Terindah By Andrei Aksana, Cermin Cinta by N. Riantiarno, and The Sweet Sins by Rangga Wirianto. The result showed that homosexual character; gay (homosexual male designation) and lesbians (homosexual women designation) in the novels are undergoing aberrant sexual activity and feel comfortable with that orientation. This figure are not in conflict with himself and not trying to change their orientation to be normal. Key words: ego sintonik, homosexual, novel, character ABSTRAK  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan permasalahan ego sintonik manusia dengan perilaku homoseksual, khususnya tokoh-tokoh yang terdapat dalam novel-novel Indonesia modern. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  tokoh homoseksual, gay (sebutan homoseksual untuk laki-laki) dan lesbian (sebutan homoseksual untuk perempuan) dalam novel-novel yang menjadi sumber data memiliki ego sintonik. Orientasi seksual tokoh-tokoh tersebut menyimpang, yakni menyukai sesama jenis. Tokoh tersebut merasa nyaman dengan orientasi seksualnya, tidak berkonflik dengan dirinya, dan tidak berusaha mengubah orientasi seksualnya menjadi normal.  Kata kunci: ego sintonik, homoseksual, novel, tokoh

Abstract

This research is aimed to disclose the demolishing of the Heterosexual Matrix in Jeffrey Eugenides's Middlesex and Abigail Tarttelin’s Golden Boy. In Eugenides’s Middlesex and Tarttelin’s Golden Boy, both characters Cal/Calliope and Max are intersex characters who have ambiguous genitalia known as intersex seek for his/her gender identity, but the two characters do not commit to plastic surgery for adhering gender norm. Thus, the problem raises whether both characters reproduce the Heterosexual Matrix or not. Judith Butler’s concept of gender is used to analyze gender problems. Based on the research conducted, the result shows that Cal/Calliope and Max seems to get trapped in Heterosexual Matrix because the binary gender will be still exist although subjects tries to get away from Heterosexual Matrix. Keywords: gender, intersex, Heterosexual matrix

Abstract

In this article is discussed about the thought of Hamka contained in his novels. Hamka a man who has a multitalenta as a writer, thinker, writer, historian, and mufasir. That is, a Hamka not only as a writer but also as a thinker, writer, mufasir (interpreter of the Qur'an) and historian at the same time. The unification of the five qualities as above would be complementary to each other. Thus, when Hamka concocted a novel, her qualities as a thinker. writers, mufasir and historians will accumulate into his fictional work so that in the work of his novels there are a number of pithy thoughts. Abstract

Orang Rimba is classical, one-part composition for orchestra, inspired by Orang Rimba’s tradition and characteristic style of life. Melangun is an obligation to move from one place to another in a case of serious threat or death one of the tribe members. Development of knowledge, technology and constantly growing human needs affect the Orang Rimba’s life cycle. Abstract

Tulisan ini menjelaskan fenomena munculnya lagulagu Minang modern yang bertema bencana ini sebagai karya dari penciptanya dan juga konten-konten yang dimuat dalam lirik lagu tersebut. Untuk itu, metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan datanya adalah melalui transkripsi dan pencatatan syair lagulagu Minang yang bertema bencana untuk kemudian dianalisis dengan pendekatan sosiologi sastra serta analisis konten. Berdasarkan analisis, lirik lagu Minang yang bertema bencana merupakan salah satu bentuk luapan perasaan dan pandangan pengarang terhadap bencana. Terutama sekali sebagai bagian dari masyarakat yang terdampak secara langsung. Ada pun muatan yang terdapat dalam lirik lagu tersebut antara lain gambaran peristiwa, waktu, serta pesan terhadap masyarakat pendengar atau penikmat lagu.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the discourse revealed by James Cameron in Avatar movie (2009). This study uses Edward Said’s framework to answer the problem above. This study uses qualitative approach with descriptive design. The data source of this study is Avatar movie (2009) by James Cameron. The technique of data collection is done by doing the strategy of contrapuntal reading. The techniques of data analysis are done by some steps as follows: First, watching the movie for many times until the writer gets the comprehensive understanding. Second, writing the narration and the event down to show the problem about colonization in the movie. Third, observing every problem with using Edward Said’s framework. Fourth, presenting the result of the analysis. The result of this study shows that James Cameron reveals anti-colonial discourse which is opposite with the West’s image that used to be known as the subject. Furthermore, he also strongly criticizes the issue of the environment, the arrogance of the West and the colonization towards another nation through this movie.

Abstract

The concept chosen as the basis of cultivation in the form of abstraction from the movement of individuals and groups who experience insomnia and who do work at night and visualization of the movement that occurs continuously by human activities on the surface of the earth such as rotating. This work was inspired by the phenomenon of insomnia, worked on the theme of life and abstract type by cultivation method done through field observation, motion exploration, evaluation, and the manifestation of the work. The first part ignores the movement of individual and group activities that are experiencing insomnia. The second part describes the night activities of the workers at night. The third part is to visualize how the imagination of human activity that occurs constantly day and night is like rotating. Keywords: choreography, insomnia, night worker, time utilization
