Abstract

Objectives. The main aim of this experimental study is to thoroughly investigate and analyze the influence of arm and abdominal muscle strength on the technique of performing a football throw-in. The study will specifically focus on students from SMAN 7 Gowa, aiming to provide a comprehensive understanding of how these physical attributes can impact the execution of this fundamental football skill. Material and Method. In a recent study, 24 extracurricular football players from SMAN 7 Gowa participated in an assessment of their throw-in skills. The study collected data through pretest and posttest evaluations of the players' throw-in abilities. The data was analyzed using descriptive analysis methods to gain insights into the players' performance and skill development throughout the study. Results. After conducting a thorough analysis, the study found a significant correlation between arm muscle strength and the length of throw-ins among extracurricular football players at SMAN 7 Gowa. Additionally, the analysis also revealed a correlation between abdominal muscle strength and throw-in length among the same group of players. Conclusions. In the extracurricular football games at SMAN 7 Gowa, a study conducted to analyze the factors influencing a player's throw-in distance revealed that arm muscle strength was found to have a more pronounced impact on the distance of a player's throw-in compared to abdominal muscle strength. This suggests that upper body strength, particularly in the arms, may be a critical factor in determining the effectiveness of throw-ins in football.

Abstract

Objectives. This study utilized students from the University of PGRI Semarang who were majoring in physical education and health recreation. The study aimed to apply the Frequency, Intensity, Time, and Type (FITT) training method to design and manage physical exercise programs that would help achieve specific fitness or sports objectives. The primary focus of the study was to increase VO2 max by utilizing the FITT principle. Materials and method. The study employed a quantitative research method with a pre-experimental design, specifically a randomized controlled trial with a pretest-posttest. The research involved 160 participants and utilized the Multi Fitness Test (MFT) to measure lung capacity endurance or VO2 max. The implementation of the FITT principle treatment led to improved aerobic endurance, as evidenced by the results of the pretest and posttest. Result. The results of the paired samples test showed that the significance level is less than 0.05, indicating that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This suggests that there is a considerable impact of the FITT method on enhancing the VO2 max capacity of respondents. The study revealed an 18% increase in VO2 max capacity from the pretest to the post-test. Conclusion. The study conducted has demonstrated that implementing FITT principles in an exercise program in a systematic manner has resulted in a remarkable enhancement of VO2 max capacity. Furthermore, this model can serve as a substitute method for instructors and educators to impart knowledge and training.

Abstract

Objective. The primary concern addressed in this research study is the persistent deficiency in children's gross motor skills, indicating a need for improvement. The researcher aims to delve into the impact of playing marbles on the enhancement of children's gross motor skills. Materials and Methods. The research methodology employed in this study involved a quantitative experimental approach. The study focused on 12 children in group B, 6 boys and 6 girls. Data was gathered through observation, documentation, and interviews. The analysis involved the use of percentage and t-test methods. Upon reviewing the comparisons made before and after therapy, it was found that the average levels of various attributes such as balance, speed, and flexibility demonstrated notable changes. Results. Based on the t-test results, the t-table value is 1.79588. The computed t-value is 9.530, with a significance level of 0.000, indicating that the observed effect of the running marbles game on improving gross motor abilities in young children is statistically significant (sig < 0.05). Conclusion. After analysis, the null hypothesis (HO) is rejected, while the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This suggests that engaging in playing marbles has a discernible impact on the development of gross motor skills in children between the ages of 5 and 6 years.

Abstract

Objective. This study seeks to create a prototype of Velcro-coated gloves to enhance the effectiveness of baseball catching instruction in fourth-grade elementary schools. Materials and methods. This study improves the baseball catching skills of fourth-grade students by using a glove with a Velcro coating. This study utilizes the ADDIE technique, including of five discrete stages: analysis, design, model creation, implementation, and evaluation. The development of the glove model involves an iterative process of creating and testing various materials and shapes of gloves to determine the most suitable design that matches the size and characteristics of grade IV pupils. Result. A proficient glove design should enhance the capacity to catch baseballs while ensuring the comfort and safety of kids. The validity test result of 0.7 indicates that it is considered valid, while the reliability value of 0.6 falls into the high category. The validation results for the development of the Velcro glove media, as assessed by 13 validators, indicate a strong agreement with an average percentage of 89.3%. Conclusion. Enhancing pupils' proficiency in catching baseballs is expected to increase their engagement in physical exercise.

Abstract

Objective. Creativity is a crucial attribute required in various professions, and its significance is particularly evident in the field of education, including teaching. The ability to innovate and think creatively is essential for educators to effectively adapt to and address the ever-evolving landscape of advancements and challenges. This research study was conducted with the specific objective of evaluating and quantifying the degree of originality demonstrated by physical education teachers. The assessment encompassed seven distinct indicators, providing a comprehensive analysis of the teachers' creative abilities within the context of their profession. Methods and Materials. The study used a descriptive research design, involving systematic observation of phenomena and forming conclusions based on the observations. The research was conducted in two sub-districts, Taweli, and North Palu, covering a total of 29 schools. All 35 Physical Education teachers in the area were included in the study using total sampling. Data was collected through a questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive and frequency distribution analysis to determine percentage scores within the sample. Result. The research findings have been sorted by gender, employment status, and certification status. The study found that women show higher levels of creativity compared to men, especially in the highly creative category. 9% of women demonstrated this level of creativity, while only 6% of men did. When looking at employment status, civil servants are more likely to be classified as very creative, with 11% falling into this category compared to 3% for honorary positions. In terms of certification status, 11% of those certified fall into the very creative category, while for the non-certified category, the proportion is 3%. Conclusion. Upon examination of the research data, it was found that among the 35 samples, 5 (14%) were labeled as extremely creative, 5 (14%) as creative, 14 (40%) as not creative, and 11 (31%) as highly uncreative. This suggests that there is a low level of creativity among PJOK teachers, as indicated by the largest percentage within this group. However, it is important to note that when combining the percentages of highly creative and creative, the overall figure remains substantial at 28%.

Abstract

Objective. The primary goal of this study is to create and evaluate the viability of electronic module instructional resources designed for teaching adaptive sports theory and practical courses. Materials and methods. The study adopted Borg and Gall's research and development theory, which comprises 10 sequential stages. These stages are: (1) research and data collection, (2) planning, (3) initial product development, (4) preliminary field testing involving expert judgment from material experts, media experts, and learning experts, (5) major product revision, (6) large-scale field testing, (7) operational product refinement, (8) operational field testing, (9) final product revision, and (10) dissemination and implementation. However, due to constraints in time and costs, the research only progressed to stage 4, the preliminary field testing. Data was gathered through observations, questionnaires, and interviews. The research employed descriptive qualitative statistics for data analysis. The outcome of the study is an e-module designed for adaptive sports learning theory and practice courses. Results. The feasibility test results for developing e-module teaching materials for adaptive sports learning courses are as follows: media experts found the materials to be very valid and usable, while material experts found them to be valid but needing revisions. The learning experts also found the materials to be valid but needing revisions. The test subjects, consisting of physical education students at PGRI University in Palembang, gave the materials a 62% score, categorizing them as "Decent/Attractive/Good”. Conclusion. The e-modules created for courses on the theory and practice of adaptive sports learning have produced results that make them highly suitable for use as teaching materials for students.
