Abstract

Lingsar Village is one of the villages in West Lombok Regency that has the potential to develop agro-tourism because 53% of its area consists of agricultural areas and fruit plantations. For this reason, Lingsar Village has great potential to develop organic horticultural plant cultivation which can be packaged as an agro-tourism attraction. This activity is expected to be one of the efforts to empower the community based on the creative economy and can contribute to increasing people's income. Currently, agricultural activities carried out by the people of Lingsar Village are only routine activities to plant on their land or land they rent. Agricultural activities in Lingsar Village are only carried out traditionally and conventionally so that they have not been able to have a significant impact on improving the welfare of the village community. For this reason, this activity aims to develop horticultural cultivation based on organic fertilizer with a touch of technology, which is then packaged so that it can become an agro-tourism attraction. The target to be achieved from this activity is the increasing capacity of the community to manage the potential of agro-tourism that is owned by being creative so that it can become an attraction for tourists. To achieve this target, the approach model used is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) which emphasizes community involvement in all activities starting from planning, implementing and evaluating programs. This activity consists of three activities, namely counseling, demonstration plots (demonstration plots), and assistance in cultivating horticultural crops based on organic fertilizers and packaging them into agro-tourism attractions. The target group of this activity is the Millennial Farmer Group in Lingsar Village.

Abstract

considerably satisfying progress. It can be seen that most of the village roads have been paved to meet community needs in supporting economic progress and tourism. However, the Lombok island strong earthquake in 2018 damaged facilities and infrastructures because the location of Senggigi was close to the epicenter of the earthquake. One of the damages occurred at the youth organization center in Kerandangan Sub-village. The purpose of this community service is to assist in repairing the center; therefore it can operate normally.  The method used is divided into several stages. The first stage is an assessment of the damage to ensure whether the center can be rehabilitated economically. The second stage is to collect data on the details of the damage. The third stage is to decide which repairs will be made and the materials to be used. The last stage is rehabilitation activities. This work was carried out in approximately two weeks with the community self-financing fee and directed by the community service team. The Senggigi Village Head has re-inaugurated the center and is expected to be used according to its previous function by the children and youth of Senggigi Village.

Abstract

Broiler cultivation is one of the largest MSMEs in East Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB). The group of breeders carries out maintenance on a scale between 3,500 heads and 7,500 heads per cage. The Muara Selayar farmer group is one of the broiler farmer groups located in Pijot Village, Keruak District, East Lombok Regency. The main problem faced by the Muara Selayar Farmer Group at this time is that production performance is not optimal, which is characterized by sluggish chicken growth, many dwarf chickens, poor feed conversion, high mortality rate, which results in low profits obtained and even losses. The considerable number of dwarf chickens although it varies every period incurs losses due to poor ration conversion with low selling prices. The solution offered to bridge the problem of low broiler production performance in the Muara Selayar Broiler Farm Group is the use of symbiotic as a feed mixture for broilers of the starter period. Symbiotic are a mixture of prebiotics (feed ingredients that are difficult to digest in the digestive tract but benefit the host through selective stimulation of growth or activity of one or more microbes in the gut) and probiotics (live microbes that have benefits for the host). The results of this activity show that the use of symbiotic has succeeded in increasing the body's resistance and growth of slaughter chickens and laying hens.

Abstract

The new superior variety Inpari Unram 1 BSP is functional rice because the rice is black and beneficial for health. This variety needs to be introduced to the Patuh Karya farmer group. This introduction was carried out in an effort to empower farmer groups as implementers of correct and integrated cultivation technology. This is done so that West Nusa Tenggara can maintain its position as a national rice barn and maintain rice self-sufficiency nationally. The problem encountered in the Patuh Karya farmer group in Selat village, Narmada District, West Lombok Regency is that they are not familiar with this new superior variety, both regarding the description of the variety, benefits and cultivation technology. The purpose of this activity is to introduce black rice about the description, content, benefits, and cultivation technology to farmers through counseling and plot demonstrations. The method used is lecture method, discussion and field practice in the form of demonstration plots (Demonstration plots). The implementation time starts from June to September 2022. The demonstration plot is held in paddy fields belonging to the Patuh Karya farmer group in Montong Daya Hamlet, Selat Village, Narmada District, West Lombok. The results of the activity showed that members of the Patuh Karya farming group, Montong Daya hamlet, Selat village, Narmada sub-district, West Lombok, understood the description of black rice rice of the Inpari Unram 1 BSP variety, the content and benefits of black rice for health, and understood black rice cultivation technology with the Jajar pattern. Legowo 4:1 as a result of counseling. Farmers are able to practice cultivating black rice of the Inpari Unram 1 BSP variety starting from soaking seeds, seeding, planting to harvesting, through demonstration plot activities and mentoring. Farmers will plant black rice in the following season and it is hoped that the team will seek market opportunities for black rice.

Abstract

One important issue of agricultural development in the dry land area of North Lombok Regency is how to increase the Cropping Index that supported by the availability of sufficient water, especially for the development of horticultural commodities. The increase in the Planting Index is expected to lead to an increase in community welfare, specifically an increase in farmers' incomes. The development of horticulture is intended to provide added value to farmers' income by applying environmentally friendly Good Agricultural Practices with production management in accordance with the conditions of natural resources. One area of dry land that has sufficient potential for horticultural development in North Lombok Regency is Sukadana Village. Problems faced by dry land farmers include the level of knowledge and skills of farmers, especially in the management of horticultural commodities and the relatively low level of farmer participation. To overcome these problems, innovation technology transfer is needed through the development of environmentally friendly horticultural crops by regulating cropping systems and improving cultivation technology to increase farmers' incomes. Counseling and training, as well as demonstration plots for improved cultivation technology and regulation of horticultural cropping patterns were carried out during Mei-November 2022. Community service activities were considered quite successful in terms of the enthusiasm and perseverance of participants in participating in counseling and training, as well as demonstration plots (tomato plants, chili peppers, intercropped chili peppers and sawi/pachoy). The results of the demonstration plot showed a significant increase both in crop productivity and increased income per unit area of arable land. On going assistance from all parties, especially the local government, is expected to sustainably develop horticultural commodities in order to increase the income of dry land farmers.

Abstract

Brain injury has the third largest prevalence of other injuries in Indonesia. Most brain injuries occur on highways as a result of motorcycling accidents. The only effective way to reduce the death rate from brain injury that occurs in motorcycle accidents is to wear a helmet. Cases of brain injury due to traffic accidents are often found in adolescents because of the lack of understanding of the importance of helmet use. Therefore, education is needed about the importance of using standard helmets when driving among teenagers. The counseling activity was carried out in one of the senior high schools (SMA) in Mataram with the dominant target of teenagers using motorized vehicles. The selected high school is SMA Negeri 2 Mataram. The method of implementing this counseling is by giving lectures on brain injury, the mechanism of trauma and brain injury and the importance of using standard head protective equipment (SNI helmets), playing videos about head trauma and interactive dialogue. The mandatory output that will be produced is in the form of research articles in the Unram Medical Journal. In addition, research results will be reported back to related fields as input and study material for traffic safety program activities in determining policies in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs as well as coordinating with related programs and sectors. The researcher will also provide a banner stand regarding the importance of using standard helmets for motorcycle riders at the activity location which can then be used as a medium of communication, information and education to the school students.

Abstract

Horticulture is an importance farming system in North Lombok due to two reasons, first it provides job to the community, and second it becomes a source of households’ income which is different from food crops. A collaborative project between Mataram University and Massey University – New Zealand called as IFSCA Project (2017 – 2020) has facilitated the adoption and diffusion of horticultural innovations in North Lombok, however two natural disaster, namely earth quake (in mid 2018) and covid-19 pandemy (early 2020) had disturbed the horticulture farming system. The big earth quake destroyed the irrigation channels and some water springs disappeared while the covid-19 pandemy had led to farmers’ difficulties to sell their horticulture products, and a results farmers’ production and incomes decreased significantly. This public service activity was conducted in September 2021 to help farmers addressing issues associated with these horticulture farming system issues. Based on the evaluation results, it was found that farmers’ knowledge and outlooks had improved due to the activity – strengthening the capacity of farmers and farmer group, especially in the area of farming management, the importance of partnership, doing extra-services to the customers, product quality and guarantee, the existence of horticulture clinic), and critical support from the agency such as North Lombok Horticulture Development Agency. This institution has played critical roles in horticulture agribisnis system development, ranging from the input system to the marketing systems of the products, for both seedling and horticulture products. This article presents a summary of the public service activities and results conducted in North Lombok at Pendua Village – Kayangan Subdistrict – North Lombok.

Abstract

Jelantik Village is one of the 13 (thirteen) villages in Jonggat District. Jelantik Village has various undeveloped tourism potentials including beautiful river channels, geotourism tourism potential, shadow puppet art cultural tourism, bicycle tracks with beautiful views of rice fields, and has the Jelantik Dam (Telaga Ijo) which has stunning views. Among the tourism potentials in Jelantik Village, the Jelantik Dam has the most potential to attract tourists. Some of the advantages of the Jelantik Dam include beautiful scenery, fresh air, easy access from the main Praya-Mataram road and culinary delights. The purpose of this activity is the arrangement of the Telaga Ijo area. The methods used in this activity are site surveys and questionnaires. A site survey is conducted to determine the physical condition of the dam and the people around it. Meanwhile, a questionnaire was given to visitors to get an overview of tourists' wishes. The survey results show that the Jelantik Dam is flanked by rice fields, has a beautiful view of the trees surrounding the lake. Communities around the dam support the development of the dam. Based on the questionnaire, tourists want boat tours, bicycle paths around the lake, spots for selfies, parking lots, additional berugak, trees for shelter, additional sales stalls, sports facilities and facilities for horse riding around the lake. The conclusion of this area arrangement activity is as a reference in the development and construction of facilities and infrastructure that support tourism activities at the Jelantik Dam (Telaga Ijo).

Abstract

Pada masa Pandemi Covid -19 sangat dibutuhkan imunitas tubuh yang kuat dan sehat. Sehingga masyarakat diminta untuk dapat meningkatkan ketahanan tubuh dengan cara mengkonsumsi makanan yang sehat dan bergizi. Selain itu dibutuhkannya juga pemberian vaksinasi untuk anak-anak di tingkat sekolah dasar hingga menangah umum. Hal demikian dihimbau oleh pemerintah di Indonesia guna mempersiapkan peserta didik yang harus terbiasa hidup dan beraktifitas di era new normal seperti diketahui bahwa Pandemi Covid -19 telah berlangsung hamper selama tiga tahun. Maka dari inu dengan pemberian vaksinasi merupakan salah satu cara agar tetap berlangsungnya kegiatan pembelajaran secara langsung atau tatap muka. Dengan diadakannya kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini diharapkan murid-murid sekolah dasar memahami pentingnya vaksinasi untuk kekebalan tubuh dan keberlansungan kegiatan pembelajaran di sekolah. Sosialisasi pada kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini merupakan suatu kegiatan yang memberikan ilmu dan wawasan dari para tim kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat untuk adi-adik di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 24 Palembang. Pada proses pelaksanaanya dapat disimpulkan bahwa peserta kegiatan tersebut sangat antusias dan merasa termotivasi dengan untuk meningkatkan imunitas atau kekebalan tubuh, salah satunya yaitu dengan mengikuti pemberian vaksinasi di kalangan anak SD. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa rata-rata anak SD Negeri 24 Palembang faham atau mengerti dengan materi yang disampaikan oleh para tim pelaksana kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat sebagaimana dengan setiap proses yang telah dilaksanakan dari persiapan, pelaksanaan hingga penutup
