Abstract

This community service is intended to develop IPPNU members’ capacity in order to strengthen their function as social support networks among girls in Kecamatan Tutur, Kabupaten Pasuruan Jatim since the incidence rate of child marriage in this area has become higher due to covid-19 pandemic. The organization’s ability to function as a social support network becomes critical for enhancing self-agency among girls in rural areas regarding their decision to marry. In order to develop this function, a range of treatments had been accomplished to improve participants’ knowledge, skills, and ability to apply critical thinking in both exploring the causes and designing preventive measures for child marriage. By involving 11 IPPNU members as participants, this community service employed workshops as the main method. The results have shown that participants’ knowledge about child marriage has been improved, particularly by the use of participatory communication techniques to explore some issues through the victims’ lens. This activity also resulted in the enhancement of participants’ knowledge and concern to utilize an online application for designing and creating digital content. Another interesting finding is the fact that participants had performed critical thinking through their reflection on what would they contribute to their environment individually.

Abstract

Kindergarten (PAUD) as a second learning vehicle after the family environment for early childhood, gives a distinct impression for those who experience it. As a place to play while learning that is full of educational values, it should provide varied learning. Especially in the current digital era, early childhood learning media must also be developed. This is the reason we carry out Community Service (PkM) activities targeting early childhood children in an early childhood education center located in Ciparagejaya village, Karawang district. Its location close to the coast, becomes a learning vehicle for the people who are there. Therefore, we also carried out PkM activities with the title "Improving Early Childhood Creativity through Games as Creative Learning Media Education in PAUD Ciparagejaya Village, Karawang Regency". The purpose of implementing PkM is to increase the creativity of early childhood in the PAUD environment through creative learning media education. The PkM method used is the roleplay method and the participatory method, where children are directly involved in learning activities through games as a form of creative learning media education. The results obtained indicate the active participation of children in the learning process, train children's creativity through creative learning media stimuli, and instill moral values in the form of honesty, self-confidence, as well as perseverance and enthusiasm for learning.

Abstract

The purpose of this community empowrement is to provide online journalism skills to youth in the Pengembur Village, Central Lombok. This activity was attended by the Head of Pengembur Village, Mosque Youth, Pengembur Youth Organization, village operators and other village apparatus. There is a lot of potential in the Pengembur Village, but the publication of information related to the Pembur Village is still very minimal. This is due to the lack of ability of youth to produce journalistic content, especially through online media. After doing this service, the youth have skills including; determine priority issues, divide tasks when carrying out coverage, write and edit coverage results, publish and distribute journalistic contexts that youth have worked on.

Abstract

The income of farm households that rely on the cultivation subsystem has so far been relatively low, so it is necessary to look for additional income such as processing agricultural products such as chilies and tomatoes which are easily damaged. Montong Are Village, Kediri District, has the potential to produce chilies and tomatoes, which when the main harvest prices fall, so it requires yield processing technology that can be obtained from training activities which are part of community service activities. The objectives of this activity are to: (1) increase the knowledge, skills and attitudes of women farming in agricultural product processing activities through training, (2) increase the quantity and quality of processed agricultural products, and (3) produce scientific publications. The target group is a member of a women's group of 30 people from 3 groups in Montong Are Village, Kediri District. The method used in community service activities is participatory based training where women farmers will be actively involved in every activity. Implementation of activities includes: outreach, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), training, and practice of processing agricultural products. The results of the training showed that there was an increase in knowledge for training with chili processing material by 50.45% and for training with tomato processing material there was an increase of 52.25%. In general, there was an increase in the volume of processed chili (sambal clove) and tomato sauce production, although it was not significant because at the time of activity, the production of chili and tomatoes was not much and the price was still high enough that it was not urgent to process them into processed chili/sambal and tomato sauce products. Later, if production is abundant and prices fall, processing of agricultural products, especially chilies and tomatoes, can be carried out.

Abstract

Community service activities aim to socialize kitchen organic waste management that can be done at the household level. This socialization activity was carried out at the request of a village youth leader who hoped to solve the problem of the accumulation of vegetable and fruit waste in Sembalun Timba Gading Village. The targets of community service activities are youth leaders, community leaders, and village officials. The socialization of organic waste management begins with dissemination of sorting kitchen organic waste (s.o.d) and continues with socialization on processing s.o.d. using the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) maggot. This processing technology will solve the problem of household waste and unsold vegetable and fruit waste and increase people's income by producing products in the form of commercial maggot and used maggot (kasgot). Maggot products can be used as poultry and fish feed, while cassava can be used as organic fertilizer for rice fields, plantations and horticultural crops. The socialization activity was enthusiastically attended by village administrators and youth of Sembalun Timba Galih Village (about 25 people). Service participants will follow up on this activity by making a proposal for a training program for organic waste processing using BSF maggot in order to create environmental cleanliness in tourist areas such as Sembalun Timba Gading Village. Community service activities resulted in an increase in knowledge, attitudes, and enthusiasm for the administrators and youth of Sembalun Timba Gading Village in solving waste problems and committed to working together synergistically with academics to carry out organic waste management training in the next Sembalun Timba Gading Village.

Abstract

Plagiarism or plagiarism in the academic world is considered a crime because it steals other people's copyrights. Universities as mandated by the regulation of the Minister of National Education of the Republic of Indonesia No. 17 of 2010 need to take precautions so that plagiarism does not occur and counteract plagiarism. Plagiarism activities carried out by academics, especially students, are due to their ignorance about plagiarism and strategies to avoid plagiarism. Among the strategies that can be used by a writer to avoid plagiarism is by quoting and paraphrasing and summarizing other people's information, opinions or ideas correctly. This community service activity was carried out in the form of training which began with the delivery of material related to plagiarism, quoting, paraphrasing and summarizing to 17 students of the English language education master's study program at FKIP University of Mataram who were and would be completing their final assignment (thesis writing). This service activity was carried out in 2 meetings, where the first meeting was for delivering material and guided training and the second meeting was for presenting results and giving feedback, as well as evaluating activities. Based on the results of observations, questionnaires and portfolios, it can be concluded that students were enthusiastic in participating in a series of activities, active in asking questions, working in groups and presenting the results of their group work. The students also said that activities like this were very useful and hoped that similar activities would be held regularly.

Abstract

Counseling on “Utilization of Corn Tumpi Fermentation as an Alternative for Availability of Livestock Feed in Keli Village, Woha Sub-district, was held in September involving farmers, especially those who raise cattle and goats in Keli Village, Woha District, Bima Regency. Another target is the general public who want to know and need knowledge in the fermentation of corn tumpi in animal feed. This activity was carried out through counseling and discussion as well as short training through demonstrations and practices on the manufacture of fermented corn tumpi. This counseling involved more than 29 participants from the planned 20 participants and also involved 6 final semester students. The results of the extension showed that the extension participants were very enthusiastic about the training material, which could be seen from their active participation in all activities, especially during discussion and practice sessions and increasing understanding of the benefits and technology of corn tumpi fermentation as animal feed

Abstract

Tourism is a recreational activity carried out with the intention of breaking away from the daily routine for a while. The tourist village is a combination of natural attractions, culture and creativity of the local community, supported by facilities that can attract tourists to visit the place. Prabu Village is one of the tourist destinations in Pujut District, Central Lombok. Even though it has advantages in natural beauty, unfortunately Prabu Village is still lacking in management and public awareness of the importance of existing tourism potential. Therefore, Unram Thematic KKN participants carried out community service in Prabu village with the theme 'Tourism and the Environment'. The purpose of this service is to introduce the tourism potentials in Prabu Village to the wider community. One of the programs carried out was by making a promotional video for Prabu Village which explained all the potential that the village had. Videos that have been made are then published on various social media (Youtube, Instagram, etc.), websites, and video platforms. With an effective promotional video, Prabu Tourism Village is expected to become an attractive tourist destination for both local and international tourists.

Abstract

The availability of land for the residential area is becoming scarce in Mataram, The capital city of West Nusa Tenggara. In response to this situation, the construction of high buildings becoming a trend. A trend that initiating a new quandary as this city is located in a high-risk area, prone to earthquakes. Still fresh in our memory, when this area was struck by a series of earthquakes in 2018, two major shocks of 7 and 6,9 magnitude were followed by thousands of aftershocks. Therefore, means are needed to mitigate the risk, for instance reinforcing the utilization of steel. Steel is known for its capacity to withhold immense quakes. Melted connecting plates and cracked connecting bolts are frequent issues in high building construction, often leading to the faulty building. Hence, educating craftsmen on steel structure connection is essential. This community service is done by training craftsmen after acquiring data regarding their capabilities. On the training day, craftsmen were taught by the community service team regarding frame connection, column beam connection, the connection of sub-beam main beam, and base plate connection. The craftsmen are given time to discuss with the community service team. The evaluation shows, there is an increase in craftsmen performance scores after receiving the training, there was an increase of 44,74 or equivalent to 112,225%.

Abstract

The tourism sector in the province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) is starting to have a major impact on the economy. In fact, the role of tourism in economic growth is quite dominant, when viewed from a number of business sectors in the province of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). South Tetebatu Village is a Tourism Village which is the Entrance to other Villages in the Southern Region of Mount Rinjani, besides presenting beautiful Accommodations and Landscapes, South Tetebatu Village has interesting characteristics to visit. One of the tourist villages that is currently starting to develop is Tetebatu Selatan Village, Sikur District, East Lombok Regency. This tourist village offers natural beauty that is still beautiful and agro-tourism as a tourist attraction. The various potentials of the village of Tetebatu Selatan can be witnessed directly, but there is still little information disseminated to the wider community, so that these potentials cannot be accessed by the public through social media platforms that are currently developing. The methods used in service activities for branding tourism villages are discussions, observations and demonstrations involving the community, youth and all village officials as well as local and foreign tourists. So that the results obtained from community service activities in Tetebatu Selatan Village can offer and promote a variety of village potentials and uniqueness through leaflets and social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Youtube Tetebatu Selatan Village so that they can attract the attention of tourists and the wider community from various regions.
