Abstract

Abstract This article is about women's relations and the stage in performing arts. So far the relationship between the two has been read through internal readings that reveal the existence and dominance of gender. So in this paper, the external context is presented in analyzing the relationship between women and the performing arts stage. In this context, the process of reading relations between women and performing arts can be done by putting these two variables in the function of subjects and objects so that in this paper two reading perspectives are produced, namely: (a) The role of women in the stage, and (b) Functions stage for women. In the part of women's role on the stage can be seen in the analysis of female figures of performing arts (actress R.A. Srimulat and Tjijih) and women's functions in the performance stories (in the story of Sarip Tambak Oso). Whereas on the stage function for women, it can be seen that as a means of movement, the stage gives the same proportion between men. But as a means of expression, the stage provides more open space for women.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Every human being has aspects of life which include philosophy, belief, science, and art. These four aspects interact and complement each other into one whole system. This research seeks to investigate deeper about the axiological aspects of the acculturation of local cultural values in the interaction of the environment of society (culture) of different ethnic, racial, religious, and local genius values which have a shared awareness of mutual respect, tolerance and "open" to the presence of other cultures. The object of this research material is Balinese artists / painters diaspora who are creative in Yogyakarta, and their formal object is Axiology. By investigating and examining the expression of art and the output of works of art produced by Balinese diaspora painters in Yogyakarta, it can be seen the condition of the development of art, adaptation of cultural values, and the personal abilities of artists as personal and social creatures in mingling and sometimes syncretic. Artists as part of cultural support, certainly can not be separated from the various influences that are in the surrounding environment. Theory of ethics, aesthetics, and habitus become a strong capital to see the 'touch' and the mix of local cultural values between artists and the local culture that they inhabit, so that it will look at how social relations and reflections of visual relations in the work. Researching and observing the development of art through the path of creation, indeed leads us to the axiology dimension of unique and personal ethical and aesthetic values. Each artist has an apparently autonomous world and the application of ethical values in the process of his work but still able to ground themselves to adapt, tolerance and multicultural life.

Abstract

The establishment of a gold mining company in Desa S caused the split of society into two part. The first part of the community supported mining companies and the second part, some of them refused the establishment of mining companies. So far, the phenomenon of the split of society into two part, often seen in the national and local domains. Whereas, this study wants to see this phenomenon occur in the realm of the household. The division of society in the realm of households is interesting to understand when the role of local state actors is in it. This condition occurred in my research, where there were three households in which there were local level state actors. The position of these state actors is quite dilemma, on the one hand, a family member supports a mining company, on the other hand, one family member rejects a mining company. The study of state-society relations is an appropriate study in understanding these conditions. In this study, the approach used in assessing the relation of state-society is Migdal's "state in society". One of Migdal's main arguments in this approach is that the state works on two levels, practice and image, where Migdal presupposes an entity to have a social boundary between the public (state and agency) and private (subject to state rules). However, what happened in the research that I did, there was no separation between public and private in the state-society relations in the household domain. Therefore, this study would like to show that the boundary between public and private is blended and overlaps each other in the relations of the state-society in the household domain.
