Abstract

The management of back pain in pregnant women using endorphin massage is an urgent need. This method not only helps reduce physical pain but also provides significant emotional and psychological benefits. Endorphin massage therapy can be an effective solution to improve the quality of life of pregnant women during pregnancy. This study aims to determine endorphin massage's effect on reducing back pain intensity in third-trimester pregnant women. This research is pre-experimental with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach, conducted at Puskesmas Rismana Pakpahan Ujungbatu in 2024. The population in this study consisted of 100 pregnant women, and the sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique with the criteria of third-trimester pregnant women experiencing back pain, willing to be respondents, and not having pregnancy complications. Based on these criteria, 30 pregnant women were obtained as samples. The statistical test was bivariate with a t-dependent test at 95% significance level. The results showed a significant difference in the average back pain intensity scale before (pre-test) and after (post-test) endorphin massage, with an average decrease of 4.667. The statistical test results showed a p-value of 0.0001, more diminutive than 0.05, indicating a significant relationship between the variables studied. This study concludes that there is a substantial change in the intensity of back pain in pregnant women after being given endorphin massage treatment. These results indicate that endorphin massage therapy is effective in reducing back pain and can be used as a safe and beneficial treatment method for pregnant women.

Abstract

Range of Motion Exercise (ROM) are used to increase peripheral perfusion with the aim of facilitating adequate oxygen diffusion and adequate supply of nutrients to the wound area and for the process of repairing wound tissue in the legs of diabetes mellitus patients. The aims to determine the effect of lower extremity range of motion (ROM) training on improving blood circulation in the legs of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus at Aceh Singkil District Hospital. This Study design uses quasi experimental using a one group pre-test post-test design approach. The Study sample was 35 respondents. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon sign rank test. The results of the study showed that there was a significant effect on the blood circulation in the legs of type 2 diabetes mellitus patients before and after being given lower extremity Range of Motion (ROM) training with a value of p = 0.000, the average value before lower extremity ROM training was 1.28 with a minimum value of 1.00 and maximum 2.00. and after being given lower extremity ROM exercises the average value was 1.94 with a minimum value of 1.00 and a maximum value of 2.00. From the results of this Study, it is hoped that nurses at Aceh Singkil District Hospital can apply lower extremity exercises to reduce the risk of complications from peripheral vascular disease, especially in diabetes mellitus sufferers.

Post laparotomy complications increase every year, ending in surgical wound infections. Efforts to prevent the healing process from taking a long time with early mobilization. So there is a need for a family support system. To determine the effect of early intervention through family support on the post-laparotomy wound healing process in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This research used a quasi-experiment with a pre-test and post-test without control, a time series approach. The sample of 13 respondents used Non-Probability Sampling, namely Purposive Sampling. The research was conducted from February to March at Hospital In the research phase, families were provided with early mobilization education with family support through educational books and applied to patients. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test. The highest average family support was emotional support and appreciation with a mean of 13.23. Wound healing process after 5 days of observation, average increase in wound healing process pre 10.00 and post 10.15 There is an influence of early mobilization intervention through family support on the post laparotomy wound healing process in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Hospital X with a p-value of 0.001 (< 0.05).

Abstract

Diarrhea is one of the most prevalent health problems in Indonesia, especially in areas with limited access to clean water and adequate sanitation facilities. In addition, diarrhea is one of the leading causes of death in the world, especially in children under 5 years of age, with approximately 2.2 million deaths each year. The purpose of this study was to increase community knowledge about diarrhea in Bagan Dalam Village, Tanjung Tiram Sub-District, Batu Bara Regency to prevent diarrhea. The research method used is quantitative with a pre-experimental approach designed in the form of one-group pre-test and post-test. Sampling using the accidental sampling formula obtained 30 samples in this study. This research instrument uses a questionnaire with data analysis techniques using paired simple t-test. Based on the results of the pre-test and post-test tests, there was no significant difference in knowledge between before and after counseling, with an average value of 0.833. This is because the education was only conducted once, so the impact on changes in the level of knowledge of the community who became the research sample was not large.

Abstract

Hypertension is theoretically influenced by several risk factors. The first risk factors are those that cannot be changed such as age, gender, and genetics. Modifiable risk factors include education, knowledge, behavior, and attitude. This study aims to identify factors that contribute to hypertension in Bangun Sari Village, Datuk Tanah Datar Sub-district. This study used a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional analytic design. The study population consisted of all residents of Bangun Sari Village, with a total population of 4,099 people and 1,148 households. The sample was taken using a purposive sampling technique, with the Lameshow formula, resulting in 94 respondents. Data were collected through observation sheets. The results showed a statistically significant relationship between age, knowledge, behavior, attitude, and occupation with the incidence of hypertension (with a p-value of 0.001 for all variables except education). There was a statistically significant association between employment status and the incidence of hypertension (p-value = 0.002). However, no significant association was found between education level and the incidence of hypertension (p-value = 0.501). Therefore, there is a statistically significant relationship between age, knowledge, behavior, attitude, and occupation with the incidence of hypertension, but there is no significant relationship between education level with the incidence of hypertension in Bangun Sari Village.

Abstract

Dengue fever cases in Indonesia, with a total of 71,633 cases as of July 2020, where Medan City experienced a 20% increase in cases in 2020. The main vector of dengue fever is Ae. Aegypti, usually prefers to suck human blood rather than animals (arthrophilic) and is usually active during the day. One way to control Ae. Aegypti mosquitoes is to break the mosquito life cycle by using insecticides. Reports from the Medan City Health Office and several studies have found an increase in cases due to the resistance of Ae. Aegypti mosquitoes to chemical insecticides. This resistance prevents mosquitoes from dying but has an impact on public health. People tend to use insecticides with the active ingredient Cypermethrin, which if used for a long time can cause problems with the upper respiratory tract, skin and eye irritation. Therefore, natural insecticides are needed that are relatively safe for humans and environmentally friendly, such as bay leaf juice (Syzygium Polyanthum) and Lavender Leaf Juice (Lavandula Angustifolia). The purpose of this study was to obtain a natural insecticide formula that can be found in the community environment and can be used by the community because it is cheap, easy and efficient and does not interfere with public health. This type of research is experimental, with the design of The Post Test Only Controlled Group Design. The population in this study was Ae. Aegypti mosquitoes located in the Jalan Durung area of Medan City. The sample in this study was 20 adult Ae. Aegypti mosquitoes in each of the 3 treatments and 2 controls, namely negative control (Aquades) and positive control (Cypermethrin) totaling ± 640. The results of the study that have been obtained are that there is a statistically significant effect on the number of mosquitoes that died between the Bay Leaf Juice (Syzygium Polyanthum) group and the Lavender Leaf Juice (Lavandula Angustifolia) group. Keywords: Ae. Aegypti; Insecticide; Bay Leaf (Syzygium Polyanthum); Lavender Leaf (Lavandula Angustifolia).
