Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of product quality, brand image, product variety, and store atmosphere on purchasing decisions. The increasing number of people consuming coffee is clearly caused by the habits of modern society who enjoy gathering. Millennials and Gen Z now use coffee shops as places to drink coffee and interact with each other due to the shift in modern lifestyle. This study uses a sample of 100 respondents, namely customers or consumers of coffee shops in Bekasi City. The sampling method used is non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling technique. The testing stages conducted include validity test, reliability test, normality test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, multiple linear regression, partial test (t-test), simultaneous test (f-test), and coefficient of determination test. The results of the study show that product quality, brand image, product variety, and store atmosphere simultaneously influence purchasing decisions. Product quality, brand image, product variety, and store atmosphere partially influence purchasing decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of brand image and product innovation on purchase decisions of Good Day instant coffee products among Generation Z in Surabaya City. The background of this research is based on the increasing competition in the ready-to-drink beverage industry and the changing consumption behavior of young generations who view coffee not only as a functional need but also as part of their lifestyle. A strong brand image and relevant product innovation are considered capable of enhancing consumer preference and loyalty toward a brand. This research employs a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique involving 100 respondents who are Good Day consumers from Generation Z. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Square (PLS). The results show that brand image has a positive and significant influence on purchase decisions, meaning that the better the consumer’s perception of the Good Day brand, the higher the purchase decision. Furthermore, product innovation also has a positive and significant influence on purchase decisions, indicating that the variety of flavors and innovative packaging of Good Day successfully attract consumer interest and strengthen their purchasing decisions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji pengaruh kepuasan kerja terhadap niat untuk pindah pekerjaan di kalangan pengemudi layanan ride-hailing di Indonesia, dengan fokus pada wilayah Jabodetabek. Menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei, data dikumpulkan dari 120 pengemudi aktif Gojek, Grab, dan Maxim yang telah bekerja minimal enam bulan. Kepuasan kerja diukur melalui dimensi seperti kompensasi, kondisi kerja, hubungan dengan perusahaan, fleksibilitas, dan peluang pengembangan, sementara niat untuk pindah kerja diukur melalui niat pengemudi untuk mencari pekerjaan lain, keinginan untuk berhenti, dan kemungkinan untuk beralih platform. Uji validitas dan reliabilitas menunjukkan bahwa instrumen penelitian valid dan reliabel, dengan nilai Cronbach’s Alpha di atas 0.80. Analisis regresi menunjukkan bahwa kepuasan kerja memiliki efek signifikan dan negatif terhadap niat turnover (β = -0.452, p < 0.05), menjelaskan 30,5% varians. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengemudi dengan tingkat kepuasan kerja yang lebih tinggi cenderung tidak akan resign atau beralih platform, sementara ketidakpuasan, terutama terkait pendapatan dan insentif, meningkatkan niat untuk resign. Studi ini berkontribusi pada literatur manajemen sumber daya manusia di ekonomi gig dengan memberikan wawasan kontekstual dari Indonesia dan memberikan rekomendasi praktis bagi perusahaan ride-hailing untuk meningkatkan transparansi pendapatan, memperkuat keterlibatan pengemudi, dan merancang program loyalitas untuk mempertahankan pengemudi.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of capital structure on the financial performance of family-owned firms in Indonesia. In addition, it explores the moderating role of ownership concentration. The data were obtained from family firms listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2019–2024 and analyzed using panel data regression with a fixed effects model. Capital structure is measured using the ratios of short-term debt, long-term debt, and total debt to total assets, while financial performance is assessed using ROA and ROE. The results indicate that both short-term and long-term debt have a significant negative effect on ROA and ROE, whereas total debt shows a significantly positive effect on both performance indicators. Ownership concentration moderates these relationships, with effects that either strengthen or weaken the influence of debt depending on the type. Control variables such as firm size and age show no significant impact on performance, while sales growth positively affects ROA only. These findings highlight the importance of maintaining a balanced capital structure and the strategic role of concentrated ownership in enhancing the effectiveness of financial decision-making.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of brand image and product quality on purchasing decisions for Adidas shoes in Surabaya. The research seeks to identify whether a strong brand perception and consistent product quality contribute to consumers’ tendency to choose Adidas over competing brands. The study also highlights the increasing competition in the footwear industry and the need for Adidas to strengthen its market positioning through brand and product strategies. The research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected from 120 respondents who reside in Surabaya and have purchased Adidas shoes. The measurement of variables was conducted using a Likert-scale questionnaire, and the data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS-SEM) to test the measurement model and structural model. The validity, reliability, and significance of the indicators and constructs were evaluated through outer loading, composite reliability, AVE, R-square, and hypothesis testing. The results indicate that both brand image and product quality have a positive and significant influence on purchasing decisions. Brand image shows a stronger effect, reflecting the importance of consumer perception and emotional attachment to the brand. Meanwhile, product quality also significantly contributes to purchasing decisions, proving that durability, design, and functional features remain essential considerations for consumers.

Abstract

There is a decline in store employee performance which is an important concern for the company in maintaining store operational productivity. This study aims to analyze the effect of compensation and store employee engagement on employee performance. This study uses a quantitative approach with a saturated sampling technique, where all store employees are used as a sample with a total of 46 store employees. Data were obtained through questionnaires and analyzed using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The results show that compensation has a positive and significant effect on store employee performance and employee engagement has a positive and significant effect on employee performance

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of work environment and work-life balance on employee performance with work motivation as a mediating variable at PT Fortuna Multi Finance Pontianak. This study applies a quantitative approach using a sample of 61 employees selected through total sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that the work environment and work-life balance significantly influence work motivation, while the work environment has a direct and significant impact on employee performance. However, work motivation does not act as a mediating variable in the relationship between work environment and work-life balance on performance. This study highlights that a supportive and conducive work environment is a key factor in determining employee performance in the multifinance industry. Further research is recommended to consider organizational culture and reward systems as potential moderator variables.

Abstract

Security guards play a strategic role in maintaining security and comfort in various institutions and companies. PT. GADA 86, as a security service provider, has a crucial responsibility to improve service quality through education and training activities to support security guard performance and develop competent human resources. The objectives of this study include: (1) to understand the education and training, performance, and competency of human resources at PT. GADA 86; (2) to understand the effect of education and training on security guard performance, with human resource competency as a mediator at PT. GADA 86. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, with data collected using questionnaires distributed to members of the PT. GADA 86 security unit, which were then processed using the SPSS program. The data analysis technique in this study used path analysis. The results show that education and training influence security guard performance, education and training influence human resource competency, and education and training influence security guard performance at PT. GADA 86, with human resource competency as a mediator. Based on the analysis of direct and indirect influences, it is known that the direct influence is greater than the indirect influence.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of job placement and career development on employee performance at Bapperida across West Sulawesi, mediated by employee motivation. The research approach is quantitative, with a sample of 154 employees working at Bapperida across West Sulawesi. Data was collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results indicate that job placement significantly affects both employee performance and motivation. Career development has a significant effect on employee motivation but does not have a direct impact on performance. Employee motivation plays an important role as a mediator in the relationship between job placement and employee performance. Based on these findings, it is recommended that Bapperida across West Sulawesi pay more attention to job placements that align with employee competencies and enhance relevant career development programs to boost motivation and performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of leadership style and career development on employee performance with job satisfaction as an intervention variable in a paper company in East Java. This study uses a quantitative approach with data analysis using the Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method involving 120 respondents. Data were collected through a survey and analyzed to test the relationship between variables: leadership style, career development, job satisfaction, and employee performance. The study's results indicate that leadership style and career development significantly affect employee performance, both directly and indirectly through job satisfaction as a mediating variable. Job satisfaction has been shown to play an important role as a mediator that connects the influence of leadership style and career development on employee performance. These results provide empirical evidence that increasing effective leadership style and structured career development can increase job satisfaction, ultimately improving employee performance. The contribution of this study lies in developing HR management literature by including job satisfaction variables as a mediating factor in the relationship between leadership style, career development, and employee performance. In addition, this study provides contextual insight for paper companies in East Java to design more effective strategies in improving employee performance
