Abstract

The scarcity and possible depletion of energy sources in the future is due to the high energy consumption in the manufacturing industry. One of the efforts to deal with this problem is scheduling. This article investigates the Hybrid Flow Shop Scheduling Problem (HFSSP) to minimize energy consumption. A metaheuristic algorithm procedure is proposed, inspired by the Salp swarm in the ocean, the Salp Swarm Algorithm. The SSA algorithm is proposed to determine the optimal sequencing considering minimal energy consumption. An interesting finding of this study is that the higher the population and iterations, the lower the energy consumption. In addition, the optimization results show that the total energy consumption is due to variations in setup and removal energy consumption and idle machine energy consumption. From the numerical results, the SSA algorithm can produce scheduling with minimal energy consumption compared to the heuristic procedure.

Abstract

Based on data from SIPSN, the total national waste generation consisting of 200 regencies or cities has reached 21.45 million tons in 2021. Of the total national waste pile, 7.13 million tons (33.26%) are still unmanaged. To help resolve this issue, PT NS together with PT M organized waste bank program which aims to build and develop more waste banks, but fact on the field showed that not all waste bank movements can run smoothly. Therefore, an analysis of the performance of waste bank services was carried out using the balanced scorecard and long-term strategic planning was conducted using hoshin kanri. From the results of the 9 prioritized strategic goals weighting, it was found that increase in profit has the greatest weight with value of 0.171. While new customer acquisition has the smallest weight with value of 0.070. From the performance evaluation carried out with objective matrix and traffic light system, there are 4 performance indicators in green, 1 in yellow, and 4 in red. After this, strategic planning can be carried out using the hoshin kanri strategy map to provide long-term strategy that can help waste banks in the program to operate sustainably.

Abstract

PT. Indogravure is a company engaged in printing flexible packaging for the pharmaceutical, agro-farming, food and beverage industry segments. In the production process activities there are problems in the cylinder warehouse division, there are 4 (four) work processes that have a potential risk of injury, namely the cylinder taking process, the cylinder checking process, the cylinder transport process, and the cylinder distribution process in the form of musculoskeletal complaints experienced by workers. To identify these complaints, the Workplace Ergonomic Risk Assessment (WERA) and Novel Ergonomic Postural Risk Assessment (NERPA) methods are used. The aim is to determine the level of risk experienced by workers during the work process and provide suggestions for improvements that minimize the occurrence of MSDs complaints. From the research conducted, it was found that there are 3 work processes that have the highest risk, namely the first is the process of taking cylinders with a score of 31 (medium) based on the WERA method and the level of risk level is 7 (high) based on the NERPA method, the second is the process of transporting cylinders with a score 29 (medium) based on the WERA method and a risk level level of 7 (high) based on the NERPA method, the three cylinder distribution processes with a score of 39 (medium) based on the WERA method and a risk level level of 7 (high) based on the NERPA method. The proposals given in this study are assistive devices designed using CATIA V5R21 software in the form of hydraulic trolleys, ladder conveyors, and electric trolleys. Where in improving worker posture using the proposed assistive devices, evaluation results are obtained using CATIA V5R21 software with a (low) level of risk, then a re-analysis of the evaluation results is carried out using the software, there is a decrease in the level of risk using the WERA method in the process of taking cylinders from scores 31 (medium) becomes a score of 23 (low) and based on the NERPA method the risk level is 7 (high) to 3 (medium), in the process of transporting the cylinder from a score of 29 (medium) to a score of 21 (low) and based on the NERPA method the risk level is 7 ( high) to 3 (medium), and in the cylinder distribution process from a score of 39 (medium) to a score of 27 (low) and based on the NERPA method the risk level is 7 (high) to 3 (medium). With the proposed tool design, it is hoped that the work process can be carried out effectively, efficiently and in accordance with ergonomic values so that the level of risk of injury experienced by workers is reduced.

Abstract

Plastic is a well-known product that is often found everywhere. The existence of plastic in Indonesia is very important for Indonesian people. However, increasing plastic consumption causes an increase in plastic waste produced. The resulting result is that the environment is dirty and of course unhealthy. One way to reduce plastic waste is to process it into paving blocks with high selling value. However, the current tools are not ergonomic and risk causing workers to experience work-related illnesses. Therefore, it is necessary to design tools that are more ergonomic. This study aims to design a tool for making plastic waste paving blocks using an ergonomic and Kansei Engineering approach. The ergonomics approach aims to obtain the dimensions of the tool that will be designed to suit the dimensions of the human body as the user. Kansei Engineering aims to get the wishes of potential tool users for the plastic waste paving block making tools they will use. The results obtained by the user's wishes are easy to use, easy to move, colorful, bright in color, striking, thick and the design is obtained according to the user's body dimensions. Offers of tools designed to increase the productivity of making paving blocks from plastic waste and user comfort in using them.

Abstract

Procurement of machinery is a facilitation to overcome auction problems in accordance with the strategic plan of the Dinas TPHPKP to maintain and improve the quality or quality of commodities so as to increase the selling value. To carry out this facilitation with limited funds, other sources of subsidized funds are needed, the government needs tools to determine the nominal funding decision, the decision to place the machine, and the feasibility study of the model. Based on surveys, interviews, and previous research, the research data was processed using goal programming with Excel and ILOG CPLEX. This study chooses scenario three as the optimal scenario because the nominal subsidy of funds is smaller than scenarios one and two, but results in machine option decisions on each quality improvement function with a positive benefit deviation value of Rp. 20,014,000. This study succeeded in formulating a fund allocation model, determining five locations for placing machines and stating the feasibility of a fund allocation model with a Benefit Cost Ratio value of 1.49. Future research is expected to be able to consider the cost of energy consumption in the next use of the machine, consider the form of village assets as a candidate for placing the machine, and calculate other feasibility study parameters.

Abstract

In fish farming, the most significant operational cost is the cost of feed or pellets. Nabolak Fisheries is one of the fish farms in Toba Regency. Nabolak Fisheries can process fish harvests directly into packaged derivative products such as fish meat processed into nuggets, fish bones processed into crackers, and dregs from processing residues used as catfish feed. Nabolak fisheries have the potential to produce fish pellets to reduce operational costs and increase revenue. With their own pellet production machine, fish farmers in the Nabolak Fishery can produce their feed and add derivative products. The design of pellet production machines that are effective, efficient, and follow the needs of fish farmers in order to increase farmer productivity. The Axiomatic House of Quality (AHOQ) method is an effective method for solving pellet machine design problems. This method determines what machine specifications are needed by involving customer requirements, functional requirements, and other elements. After obtaining the design and specifications, modeling was carried out using Solidwork software. Solidwork will feature a three-dimensional design. The three-dimensional design produced by SolidWorks is then given to the blacksmith to make the pellet production machine.

Abstract

The continuous use of fossil energy can have an impact on the energy crisis and environmental pollution Greenhouse Gas (GHG) is a contributing factor to climate change. Electric cars are one of the solutions to these problems. Because electric cars use clean and renewable electrical resources to drive their vehicles, they can reduce dependence on limited fossil fuels. In the use of electric cars that utilize regenerative braking technology, the first stage is to design the portion of mechanical braking on both the front and rear wheels, along with regenerative braking. The goal is to obtain a safe braking portion by following the ideal braking upper limit that has been set, as well as the lower limit set by the ECE braking standard. After obtaining a safe braking portion that is in accordance with actual conditions, the next step is to find the energy generated by the regenerative braking system by simulating it using Matlab-simulink. In this simulation, the regenerative brake efficiency can be obtained by comparing the absorbed energy and the available braking energy. The regenerative brake system in this study is able to absorb 1.7623 kWh of energy with an efficiency of 67.31% at a regenerative braking portion of 0.137 and front mechanical braking of 0.6629 at a road friction coefficient of 0.8.

Abstract

Making stamped batik goes through 5 stages, namely tasting, dyeing color, removing hot and cold tubs, and drying. This process takes place repeatedly for a long time, causing workers to potentially experience musculoskeletal complaints and the risk of Cumulative Trauma Disorders (CTDs). The purpose of this study was to determine whether batik Nilo Tirto workers were at risk for developing CTDs or not. This research was conducted by using a method to determine the level of worker complaints with a Nordic Body Map (NBM) questionnaire. After knowing each class of worker complaints, the CTDs Risk Index method is used to determine the risk score for muscle injury in workers. If the score is > 1, it is relatively unsafe, so it needs improvement. The 2 most significant scores on the CTDs Risk Index worksheet will be analyzed further to determine the risk factors for musculoskeletal use using the PLIBEL Checklist. The results obtained are, there are 2 workstations that have the highest score on the CTDs Risk Index, namely color dyeing and cold bathing. This is caused by awkward body postures when working, repetitive movements, and poor workstation conditions, so the repair needs to be done. The results of this study can be used for improvements to the workstation for dyeing color and cold tubing in the form of design proposals and the work postures of the two workers.
