Abstract

Ferry transport plays an important role in the general cargo distribution process in the Maluku region. However, the network pattern that has been applied has not been effective so that the area in the southern part is still isolated because the frequency of ship stops is more than two weeks. This condition impedes the distribution of general cargo, increases logistics costs and reduces industrial competitiveness. The purpose of this research is to evaluate and develop an optimal crossing transport network through simulating the distance and shipping time. The results showed that the existing pattern requires 109.05 hours of travel time to reach 2,103 km as the farthest distance. The scenario for developing the multiport calling pattern requires 1 ship to sail the primary route, covering the farthest distance of 3,442 km in 178.27 hours. Scenario I hub and spoke pattern requires 2 ships to sail the primary route, covering the farthest distance of 1,872 km in 96.96 hours. Scenarios II and III require 3 ships to sail the primary route, covering the farthest distance of 2,336 km in 120.99 hours. These results confirm that the hub and spoke pattern is more optimal than the multiport calling pattern even though it requires more ship units. Thus, the hub and spoke scenario III pattern is more appropriate to be applied as an inter island crossing transport network pattern in the Maluku region because it is able to reach all areas so that it can support the distribution of general cargo.

Abstract

Emission from manufacturing contributes greatly to the increasing og greenhouse gas pollution. One of the activity in manufacturing is the supply chain. To deal with the risk of carbon emission, it is necessary to carry out green supply chain management, which is by implementing hybrid production, by regular production and green production. A company needs to consider the tradeoff between the use of green technology and the benefits that will be obtained. This research was conducted to form a supply chain inventory model by considering carbon policies and productselling price to maximize the joint total profit. The development of this model is carried by set the assumptions, formulating models, and gave the numerical examples by using secondary data. We used algorithm from the formulation model to find the optimal solution. The research is continued with a sensitivity analysis of the proposed scenarios by changing some of the parameter. This sensitivity analysis can be used as a consideration for a manager in making decisions according to those scenarios. The results of this study are the addition of green production facility is proven to reduce carbon emission by considering product selling price, lot size, number of shipping, and safety factor.

Abstract

This paper discusses an experimental design approach to optimize injection molding process parameter settings according to quality targets. The method used is general factorial design, so that it can investigate the effect of each predictor variable (factor) and its interaction effect. In this study, front barrel temperature, injection pressure, holding pressure, and holding time were selected as control factors. Before testing the hypothesis, the results of the experiment are also illustrated to summarize what main characteristics phenomena the data visualization can convey us. Hypothesis testing used linear regression analysis and analysis of variance (ANOVA) with a significance level (a) of 0.05. The results demonstrated that front barrel temperature (A), injection pressure (B), holding pressure (C), and holding time (D) had a significant effect on tensile strength, but only the front barrel temperature factor had a significant effect on net weight. Front barrel temperature is the most influencing factor on the response variables. There are a significant effect of the interaction between factors, namely AB, AC, BC, ABC, ABD, BCD, on tensile strength, whereas only AB interaction has a significant effect on net weight. The optimal settings could be adjusted according to the required quality target.

Abstract

When carrying out activities in the virtual world, there is a gap between VR device technology and the human body's ability to respond to the virtual world's display, which is called cybersickness. This study uses factors that arise from outside VR, namely physical environmental factors regarding room temperature. In addition, factors that arise from within VR are also used, namely the type of work. This research is experimental with the number of volunteers as many as 9 people. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling and the volunteers had an age range between 20-25 years. The research was conducted using a virtual reality device and a heart rate meter. The variable used is the temperature variable (warm comfortable and optimal comfortable). The software used for this research is Job Simulator by simulating the type of work as a mode variable (type of work), namely office workers and store clerks. The results of the twoway ANOVA test show that the temperature variable, the mode variable, and the interaction between the two variables have no effect on cybersickness and physical fatigue. The results of the paired t-test show that the heart rate before and during the activity is the same. The results of the energy calculation show that each scenario carried out is included in the classification of "light" work levels and the results of the overall average heart rate show that each scenario carried out is included in the classification of "low/low" workload. The results of theoretical rest time calculations show that almost all volunteers do not need rest. It is concluded that playing Virtual Reality at warm and comfortable temperatures is optimal, and the office worker and store clerk job types have not caused significant cybersickness as long as the game is played for 15-20 minutes.

Abstract

After going through the covid 19 pandemic, all companies began to rise to continue their business. one of them is a steel company which is a supplier of car-making materials to automotive companies. In 2021 the production of the Recoiling Line (RCL) was unable to reach the production target. Then it was traced again using field data and found that there had been a lot of downtime. After being identified, it was found that there were increasing cases of looping on the Pay Off Reel (POR) machine. This problem resulted in downtime of 32% thereby slowing down the production process at RCL. The purpose of this research is to find out the causes of looping in POR when under winding. The Quality Control Circle (QCC) method is often used in companies to implement continuous improvement. The results of this study are that the factors causing looping in the POR can be found during underwinding and can provide suggestions for improvements to reduce the frictional force between the coil and the Equipment guide table and the pressure between the coil car on the coil which results in looping on the POR machine so as to eliminate downtime due to looping of 121 minutes/month to 0 and can increase RCL production capacity by 0.3%/month with a saving cost of 162 million/year.

Abstract

The production process for making sauces requires a performance appraisal so that the results are effective and efficient. In production, performance problems sometimes occur, such as low productivity and accidents. The relationship between employee performance, such as work safety greatly affects work productivity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the performance of K3 which includes the Frequency Rate (FR), Severity Rate (SR), and T-Safety Value (NTS) so that it will produce how big the relationship is between the accident rate and work productivity. This study uses the Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) method where to build an FTA flowchart, it is necessary to identify work accident data, build a safety tree, measure work productivity, and draw conclusions. This research has produced several analyzes using FTA where the FR, SR, and NTS levels can already be known. The results of measuring the FR value show a decrease in the frequency of disability injuries and the severity of work accidents from year to year, there is a decrease from year to year. This research has also succeeded in increasing employee work productivity due to the low value of the FR and SR levels each year. If linked to NTS, every year the relationship between work safety and productivity will improve. So from the results of this analysis, there is a relationship between the frequency of work accidents and the level of work productivity that occurs in the production process.

Abstract

Reaction time is the time span between receiving a stimulus and the initial appearance of a person's response. Many work equipment requires a quick reaction from the operator on the signal displayed. The quick reaction is turning off the engine, pressing the emergency button, braking etc. Quick action is needed, among others, to prevent work accidents, prevent damage to equipment. To find out the characteristics of the speed of reaction to several types of stimuli, a series of experiments was carried out. The study was conducted under normal conditions on 47 respondents in the ergonomics laboratory. Stimulation given changes in color and sound as well as visual cues in the form of moving needles. The calculation results show that the speed of reaction is influenced by the type of stimulus. The highest reaction speed occurs when the stimulus is in the form of a moving pointer, followed by the yellow, green, red buttons, the sound of the alarm and finally the whirring sound. The control board prototype designed using reaction speed characteristic data is equipped with 3 color push buttons that correspond to the color of the indicator light, 1 yellow push button to respond to a whirring sound indicator and an emergency stop button to respond to an alarm sound and a step on by foot switch to respond to indicators moving pointer emergency stop button to respond to the alarm sound as well as a step-by-foot switch to respond to indicators in the form of a moving pointer.

Abstract

This research was conducted in a micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) which produces apparel with its own brand. Even though they have been producing clothes since October 2020, sales have not met the target so the owner decided to temporarily stop the business with plans to continue after having sufficient capital. This study aims to determine consumer expectations for pajama products, measure the gap between expectations and products, and provide a design for the development of product quality using the Kansei Engineering and Quality Function Deployment (QFD). By processing the results of the first questionnaire and grouping the attributes into the eight dimensions of product quality, the eight most important attributes were comfort, pockets on shirt, safe, durable, smooth, easy to buy, affordable, and minimalist. The second questionnaire asked respondents to express their level of expectations and perceptions of the main product, competitor 1 and 2, which were then used to conduct a gap analysis. The gap value showed that consumer satisfaction with the main pajama product is lower than competitor 1, but higher than competitor 2, where the main product has an advantage in the 'affordable price' attribute. Furthermore, the three phases of the House of Quality (HOQ) provided manufacturing planning results in the form of using materials without defects, cotton and cotton t-shirt materials, plain or minimalist motifs, short sleeve and short pants model, variations in sizes M, L, and XL for all models, and the provision of pockets in shirts and pajama pants.
